Overall, I enjoyed this installment in the IJ saga, but was annoyed with contrived sequences (the drag race at the opening, Indy in the nuclear blast test area, the malt shop) that did little or nothing to advance the story.
With Spielberg and Lucas, two 900-lb. gorillas of contemporary film-making, attached to this project, I'm sure no one else connected with the production dared tell them those scenes were very clearly superfluous to the main thread of the story.
Given that the "would you recommend ... " question only allows yes/no answers, I'll add this: sure, go see it, but be advised of the narrative padding I mentioned.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
