I thought the movie had some definently out of place vulgarity, but over all the story was cute. Nice romantic comedy, and something good for a true dreamer. I thought it was going to be the Revenge of My Best Friend's Wedding, instead I was pleasantly surprised. I thought Patrick Dempsey did a wonderful job - the door scene had me in silent tears. Michelle is a natural girl-next-door type and her subtleties go far. Sydney Pollack was the ever - so convincing father of a man with commitment issues. The panoramic shots were breathtaking. I think sometimes movies get analyzed to a point that you lose just being able to enjoy it. So don't analyze it, just enjoy.

i thought the movie was absolutely adorable! I mean, yes at times it was slightly predictable, but that's why us girls go and see chick-flicks, so we have the satisfaction of being right, and having that "feel-good" feeling at the end. :) I would really recommend this movie as a girl's night out movie. And the camera work isn't that bad.... yea I got dizzy for like 2 seconds, but I wouldn't go as far as saying it "almost ruined it". Go see it, you won't regret it.

I agree that the camera work was really wacko! Several scenes made my head swirl because of the motion of the camera. My best friend and I joked about having motion sickness several scenes. BUT.......funny movie, great acting and lots of enjoyment for a night out!

While it is well worth seeing, just to satisfy the thirst we've experienced lately for a decent movie to go enjoy, basically, if you take the wedding theme of 27 dresses and combine it with the internationality of PS I Love You, you've got this movie in a nutshell. Patrick Dempsey does a good job of looking cute throughout, but I must admit, I would have enjoyed seeing him naked in the scene they cut out to get their PG rating. Guess that will be on the DVD! Gives us something to look forward to.

The laughs in this movie were few and far between. There wasn't much character or plot development, either. Instead, the movie seemed to rely on cliche and stereotype. I was disappointed. I agree with one of the other reviewers that some of the camera work was pitiful! In one scene in the restaurant, where Patrick Dempsey's character has crashed into the waiter for a second time, and both end up on the floor, the jerky movements of the camera, as it tried to pan in and then out, were distracting and, frankly, unbelievable. How does that make it through editing? The only reason I give this movie a fair rating is that my 11 year old daughter enjoyed it and I enjoyed watching Patrick Dempsey. The scenes of the Scottish country side weren't bad, either.
