I wasn’t sure what to expect going into this movie. I saw Colin Farrell on a late night talk show and he said it was made by the same director who he worked with on “IN BRUGES” back in 2008.
Seven Psychopaths poster
That was a strange movie, to say the least, but it was good and unpredictable. That’s what this movie is like too. Colin Farrell stars as Marty, which not coincidentally is the name of the writer/director of the movie. “SEVEN PSYCHOPATHS” is about a screenwriter who is trying to write his newest movie which is called “Seven Psychopaths”.
It would be difficult to give you any more of the plot of the movie without giving it all away, but this tongue-in-cheek dramedy also stars Woody Harrelson, Christopher Walken, Gabourey Sidibe, Abbie Cornish, and Sam Rockwell. Essentially, the storyline follows a gang of dog-nappers who nab canines when their owners aren’t paying attention, and then return them to collect the rewards offered for the lost dogs. They make the mistake of stealing the dog of a mob boss played by Harrelson, and he goes after them with his gang to get his dog back. Christopher Walken gives a stellar performance as an older guy who is just trying to take care of his wife who has been diagnosed with cancer, without insurance.
Just to warn you, there is quite a bit of blood and violence with lots of people getting killed, but what else would you expect from a bunch of psychopaths?
Don’t jump up and run out when the credits start to roll, or you’ll be sorry! “SEVEN PSYCHOPATHS” hits theaters on Friday, October 12.
Pros great story, great actors
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Captain America Rocks!

Comic book aficionados will be very happy with the story line and how quickly they developed the characters, from Bucky to Steve Rogers. From all my years of reading Captain America comics, I don't ever recall there being a "Howard Stark" connection, but I guess it helps bring the entire "Avengers" storyline full circle. The casting was perfect with one exception... In my humble opinion, the guy who played the Red Skull just didn't pull it off. I can think of much better character actors that would have done a much more believable portrayal. If you go see this movie, I'll give you a tip, in case you haven't heard..... You definitely want to hang around and tolerate ALL of the credits, because there's an awesome surprise after the credits! Can't wait till May 2012!!!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I loved this latest masterpiece from the Marvel Universe! The character development was perfect as was blue-eyed James McAvoy's (and all of the others) performances! They kept the story very, very close to the original storylines and Kevin Bacon's performance was just wonderful! I can't wait to see many more class sessions from the X-Men School of Professor X!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Awesome Production!

Thor met every expectation that I had built up during it's promotion. The acting is superb as is the casting. The "Destroyer" and other CGI used is seemlessly integrated into the live action! The story line stopped at the perfect cutoff point to leave us begging for more! Don't make us wait too long!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

While it had it's pleasant and entertaining moments, it was just more of the same schtick that happened in the first Museum. The lisping Egyptian king was annoying. The CGI wasn't even realistic this time around. You wasted the money to make it in IMAX? Must've needed tax loss writeoffs because in IMAX or regular cinema, this was a waste of celluloid.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Good but not Great...

OK.... as "Save the Earth" movies go, it's certainly better than "The Happening". That said, as Keanu's character came to understand his earthly body more, he COULD have shown more emotions. Even WALL-E was more emotional! My biggest peeve with movies like this is how "THEY" can miraculously have the entire ARMY complete with floodlights, tanks, troops, everything, in Central Park, in the heart of NYC given 1 HOUR to pull it all together!! OUR MILITARY DIDN'T SHOW UP FOR KATRINA FOR 5 DAYS!!! Can Hollywood honestly even SPELL "REALISM" and "BELIEVABILITY"? It would give the movies alot more "CREDIBILITY" if they could!!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

If this movie had been released in October, before the elections in November, we wouldn't be burdened with the repercussions of PROP 8 in California now. This movie, so eloquently and succinctly puts a "face" on the gay community, as Harvey Milk was able to do, that it would have failed by a landslide! SEAN PENN is brilliant! Gus Van Sant's usage of vintage footage and photos mixed in with new production was brilliant and gave a genuine authenticity to the entire production. It had me wiping tears over and over throughout the movie.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

stick to Entourage!

OK, admittedly, I'm not a gamer, and just didn't know what was going on. BUT, if they're going to make a "MOVIE", I don't think that understanding it SHOULD be predicated on previous knowledge of a video game. It was confusing, and the story line just wasn't developed enough. Hey Mark, I hear there's room for you with NKOTB! Or stick to making Entourage! This left me still wanting a good action movie!
No, I do not recommend this movie.

HANCOCK started here in NYC a day earlier than the advertised opening date, so I got to see it last night. I just thought it was going to be kind of like the Superman movie where he goes downhill and becomes dirty and negative but then makes a comeback when he gets inspired. I wanted to see it, because the previews made it look at least interesting, but I didn't have high expectations. However the twists and turns they've put into the plot that weren't even remotely hinted at in any of the previews really makes it a MUST SEE MOVIE, IMHO.... Nice to see Jason Bateman finally make a comeback after being a has-been for so many years since his teen success! I won't go into the plot because I don't want to spoil it for anyone else, but GO SEE IT! You'll get your money's worth!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
