We went with 2 adults, 2 20-somethings, 2 teenagers and a little boy. Everyone loved the movie. The animation is very detailed and there were enough adult jokes (although not inappropriate) to keep everyone entertained.

I'm a 75 year old "kid"...OK, kid at heart...and I absolutely loved this film. Everything about it...storyline, actors, animation quality, funny moments, action sequences...total state of the art. I really got a kick out of the reactions of the kids around me. They were really into it.

I bought tickets online because due to the Easter Holiday, I figured this movie would be sold out. There were only about 50 people in the theater...so that wasn't necessary. My daughter enjoyed it and there were a couple of really funny parts, but even she said it wasn't one she'd need to watch again. So coming from a 10 year old? who watches things over and over and over again?...it's not the best. We expected more. Fact is, my husband took a snooze in the theater..it couldn't keep his attention. And he usually likes animated movies.
Wait for the rental...

I took my grandson to see Monsters vs Aliens and he really enjoyed it. I enjoyed it as well. I didn't need the 3D aspect of the movie to enjoy it but it probably would have made the movie much better. I would recommend this movie to all of my family members who go to the movies.

This movie was really good in that it was not boring for kids and adults. My little one, three years old, was into the movie the whole time as was I. The movie was not upsetting or that crude. There were a few dirty jokes but those were geared more to the adults, my little one did not get it. I would recommend this movie for some family fun.

Took my daughter and nieces to see the movie and they really enjoyed it. Whereas some of the more recent animations seemed plagued by poor storylines and being too long, this was pretty light and good fun. Good message about people liking themselves for who they are and overall, didn't really feel like i had to be tied down to sit through it. First animation in a while that the whole family enjoyed.

I took my three year old son to see it, he loved this movie. It was entertaining for both myself and my son. It wasn't too scary nor was it overly juvenile. There was only one part that upset him. The audience is led to believe one of the monsters is no longer with us. Other than the enjoyed the movie thoroughly. (we did not see the 3-d version)

I was disappointed that the Cockroach didn't sound like doctor House. Turns out Hugh Laurie decided to use his own unrecognizable English voice which begs the question, why pay him to do this job? Maybe it could be re-dubbed prior to DVD release.
Other voice actors are well cast, and seem to embrace their characters. I liked Reese Witherspoon's Susan/Ginormica and the costume design they made for her (hotty).
The movie provides good family entertainment with high quality digital animation. I only saw the 2-D version. One of my colleagues who saw it in 3-D was very impressed.
Try to find a 3-D showing if you're an adult, kids probably won't mind either way.

Very enjoyable movie if you have young kids. Even my 2 year old sat through the entire movie! He couldn't take his eyes off the screen long enough to make sure the food went in his mouth.

Excellent Movie. Be careful when ordering tix if you definitely want 3D. We had to get new tickets at the theater for another show. Movie itself was worth the hassle.

This is a great movie for kids but adults like it too. The kids in our party were laughing and said it was great movie. The adults also found many things to laugh at and also agree its a good movie and one we look forward to buying the DVD for to watch over and over..
