We were disappointed in this movie. The director, we felt, did not take into account some of the better parts of the story into the movie. There was very little character deveopment. If I had not read the book there would have been big question marks as to what was going on. As it were there were still lots of question marks and a sense of disappointment in the results that have been overhyped in our opinion.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

My children seemed to enjoy the movie and there was enough funny parts to entertain the adults
