Poorly paced, so much important information from the book left out...would have been better to split this into two movies, I think. Still, the actors did a very nice job...the kids have certainly come a long way! Visually very beautiful, too. I'm a die-hard HP fan, wouldn't have missed it, and will see it many times again! Please do a better job with Deathly Hallows!

I thought it was amazing! Of course you always notice missing details from the book but it's a LONG book. They did a great job of getting all the important details in. Awesome special effects at the lake scene. Go see it with the kids!!

I thoroughly enjoyed the Half Blood Prince and I am looking forward to seeing it a second time. It followed the book, for the most part. I understand why some things were left out, but was disappointed that it did not contain other scenes from the book. I thought the actors did marvelous jobs with their characters. Especially important since there was more character development in this movie than others. It is certainally darker than the other firms, which is to be expected, and it sets the stage for the final two movies. I think Harry Potter fans will be pleased.

I could not wait for this movie - we all waited so long for it! And here it was, 11:59 PM July 14, just before the showing! Reliving the book through the movie was (pardon the pun) magical. They changed alot and left out alot as well, but that's to be expected with a book this long. There also was much more comedy than usual, but I enjoyed it. Looking forward to the next one! Though, it will be split in two, so, ones...?

I am an avid Harry Potter fan. We thoroughly enjoyed this movie. I have stopped expecting the movies to parallel the books so I was not disappointed. I really like the movie itself... the acting was much better than in a lot of the other movies and I like the added humor though I think that it may have gotten a little over the top. The ending with the island and the inferi was really good, almost exactly how I would have imagined it, but I was really dissappointed with the part added in which the weasleys house gets set on fire by the death eaters and Harry and Ginny run into the cornfield. that was kind of stupid. not going to lie.

Movie follows the book well, it's a little darker part of the story, but has some beginning to fnd love humor that lightens up parts. The special effects are, as always, quite good - makes you wish you could lay Quitich. Since this is the part o the story where Dumbledore dies...it ends on a very sad note. I didn't like the Dumbledore death section. The movie had Harry just stay hidden rather than as in the book where he was under his invisibility cloak and stunned by Dumbledore so he couldn't help out. Small things like that mean a lot to the story and shouldn't be changed. Overall it was good.

i've not read the book, but watching the films had me informed enough to enjoy it. The performances were very good. The teenage romance material was good relief from the darkness of what was happening in the major plot. It ended too quickly (yes, even after 2 and a half hours); it felt abrupt. I think I will read the book now to fill in details.

This movie was spot on! The director did a good job trying to follow the book. And if you had never seen a movie but read the books you could keep up. It was a long movie but I wish they could have added the massive fight scene, Otherwise it was great to see the interaction between the characters and the changing scope of the movie. After seeing the movie, I left the theater feeling disappointed. I know that changes must be made, but I did not expect the dramatic changes made to the plot. Major characters were missing, important details left out, and where was the real fight scene at the end. All the past versions are fairly close to the books, but this one seemed to stray quite a bit .
Never reading the books, my husband liked it and thought it was very entertaining. He did believe that Snape was related to Voldemort. The movie did not really explain why Snape's nickname was the H-BP.
Overall, the director was too concerned with the boy/girl relationships than focusing on the meat of the story, therefore missing the mark on best parts of the book.

The acting was great, plot seemed well thought out and flowed very well. The special effects were great, as could be expected this far into a franchise. The movie didn't feel as if it was overly long even at 2 1/2 hrs...and to be honest, I was waiting for more. Unfortunately, it ends what seems rather abruptly...as if there was more. I haven't read any of the books so I fortunately have nothing to compare it to and it's a pretty well known fact that the movies rarely ever surpass the books. I think this helps me enjoy the films that much more.

Although the book differs from what the movie offers, the movie goes for a more entertaining approach such as in its romance-humor between Ron and Hermione, Harry and Ginny, and others. It's true that some scenes are depicted differently from the scenes in the book and I was a little frustrated by the ending, where Harry was not stupefied under a cloak. Otherwise, it was still a great movie and I'd recommend it to anyone who can deal with the differences between book and movie.

So the people that are saying that the movie closely follows the book, really need to read the book again (BIG parts of the book are left out (especially the ending) and random scenes are added). However, with that said, the movie itself was GREAT!!! I've scene it twice now and the first time I watched it I was more preoccupied of how the movie was so off the book that I didn't sit back and enjoy the movie, the second time I watched it I just forgot about the book and enjoyed the movie and it was an AMAZING production.

I loved the movie but I also went in with the knowledge that a 700 page book could not be made in to a 2.5 hour movie. That being said I enjoyed reliving the book through the movie. I was sad at the lack of 'important" aspects of the book but I knew to expect this.
Overall, it was probably the best hp movie (besidesthe first- which was exciting to see the magical world come to life) to date. I thought it was well done and the added humor was appreciated.

One of the major story lines in the book is us learning about Lord V and the horcruxs. The movie gave us two short scenes. Also, With everything the book had to offer, why the need to add things that didn't happen, nor added anything to the story. Where was the funeral? What about the big fight at the castle when harry and D come back from their mission. Come with low expectations to avoid disappointment.

The movie was better than the last. I enjoyed how each character actually had their own personality brought to screen. I loved how they focused more on the students than the teachers. I hated the ending, it always leaves a cliffhanger sort to speak. I know they have to do that to go into the next saga, but I think it could have been alittle more polished. Overall the movie was interesting to watch for the first time, but I do not think I would go see a second. I anticipate the next one.

This movie was beyond awesome!! I have been looking forward to this movie for a long time! It makes me even more anxious to see the final two movies!! The effects were outstanding, and I really felt like I was a part of the movie!

Even if you're not a Harry Potter fan, you'll love this, as well as all of the other Harry Potter movies. I'm a true/loyal fan, and this movie left nothing to be desired. It was true to form as with all of the other Harry Potter movies. I cannot wait for the last one, which I've heard they will be breaking into two movies. Anyone who wants a great movie experience should treat themselves and see Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.

Beautiful. Yes, they changed some things. Yes, they made up some things. As an obsessive fan of the books, this did not bother me in the least. We got straight book to film adaptations in the first two movies & they are the worst out of all of them - the bigscreen is a completely different medium that requires deft adaptation & interpretation. I sat in the theatre completely spellbound by what I was seeing. The cave scene was perfect. Ron & Hermione were adorable. Dumbledore's tribute (a "made-up" scene) was heartwrenching. I have been waiting for a Harry Potter movie of this caliber since they first started making them. I loved this film & am now nothing but excited to see what they do with the last two.
