I am a huge Harry Potter fan and P is luke warm about it. P thought it was the best of the movies (we watched Phoenix the night before). I thought the movie was great. Granted there were a lot of parts cut from the book but I think that was done for the sake of time. The movie was long and covered the major plots needed to set up the next 2 fils in the time allowed. Great story telling and effects with visits with characters you care about.

The sets were the best yet, and the film stayed pretty close to the book for the most part. We were disappointed, however, with the lack of energy in the film, the unnecessary addition of the attack on the burrow which took time that could have been used to avoid eliminating so many key scenes from the book. Why leave out what's in the book and add things that weren't? We also thought it was a mistake to anticipate the revelations about Snape, that don't show up until the last book, and start softening his character in this movie. Fans will enjoy the sets and seeing the characters again, but overall, it was a disappointment.

Put it this way, if you read the book, you will be very disappointed in the movie. They did not put enough of the memories in the movie, and they totally hacked the ending..Dumbledore never fell from the building, he was on the ground..not to mention the HUGE fight when Harry chases after Snape & Dracus through Hogwarts and the teachers and students were fighting the Deatheaters. The Burrow NEVER got burned either. I hate it when they change things from the book and leave important info out of the movie. I was very disappointed. The movie was still good and a couple really funny parts, but they just totally hacked the book and left out things that should not have been left out OR changed.

I really enjoyed the movie. The special effects and cinematography were far superior to the other movies of the series. Although I was disappointed about the amount of scenes that were deleted from the book, I do understand. I enjoyed seeing how much these young actors have matured over the years. There will be many aspects that will have to be addressed in the next movie because of their deletion but overall....EXCELLENT!

This was by far the worst of all the movies so far. Parts were added or changed that did not need to be, and essential information was left out when it could have been added. The most exciting "action" filled part of the book was the ending and it was minimized to nothing. Very poorly done compared to the other movies. A disappointment.

I have read all the books and seen all the movies! This one is the best that I have seen, it's great to see the characters develop as they did in the books, great to see Harry follow his destiny. The lighting and scenery were beautiful. To much was cut from the book. It was anti climactic and failed to inform the non-book reading audience of many details that were important. I.e. The Ministry of Magic coruption and change in power. The marriage of Tonks and Remes. Too much emphasis on Helena Bonham Carter. Bellatrix is not a major figure in the book. She was distracting.

I thought the movie was definitely interesting and i loved watching it, BUT... it seemed more like a romantic comedy, the book was much more serious. Also, it was quite dissapointing at the end when there was no battle, it wasn't very epic. Alot of key things just seemed to be missing. But Tom Felton really stepped up to the plate and his acting was so amazing, he played Draco exactly as he was in the book!

The best Harry Potter film by far..hilarious and entertaining. The acting was outstanding and the characters were quite attractive ;) But I feel like as far as plotlines are concerned, the movie did not do justice to the creativity of JKR. Major plotlines were left out and the focus of the movie seemed more to be on teen love than the serious adventures of Harry and Dumbledore or Malfoy's doings.

This movie was a great addition to the HP saga. The story line followed the book pretty well, granted some important events were left out but as with all the JK Rollins books the movie would have to be 5 hours long and even rabid Harry Potter fans like us might find that a bit long. While overall an enjoyable movie that I very much was looking forward to, two major scenes were disappointing and detracted from the movie. Deatheaters attacking and burning the Burrow wasn't in the book, made no sense at all, and did not further the plot. The biggest crime against the book was the changing of the final scene. Highly anticipated, I expected nothing less but the amazing special effects and typical Potter antics. However the Half Blood Prince was lacking something. The movie not only lacked key information from it's book counterpart, but character involvement seemed thin. I left feeling like I wanted to see more. If you see the movie, most of the other characters play little to no real part in the main story line. This was rather disappointing. To end on a high note, I would definately see the movie. It does capture the same flair and intrigue found in all the HP movies. All and all, it went strong until the very end where I couldn't help feeling like it went slightly flat.

This movie was sooooooo sad!!!!!! i won't give away what i know, but know that things happen for a reason! ohhhhh sniff sniff Fantastic scenery.....the clothes! Professor McGonagall's jacket was AWESOME!!! This movie leaves you wanting to see what happens next!!!!!!

The movie had very interesting special effects and the story line was great. If you had never read the books, then you would probably love it! However, the movie characters seemed much more shallow than in the story. Also, the movie left out some very important parts from the book. And...they added in some completely different scenes...very weird. But overall, pretty good and worth it to see in the theatre.
