This movie was really disappointing. I had just reread the book, so what is supposed to happen was very fresh in my mind. About 80% of the movie was garbage. The few scenes I enjoyed, were quickly overshadowed by my annoyance at all the liberties that were taken. Scenes that never happened were added, important things were left out. I think if you've never read the books, you'd be confused as to why things were happening. The flow was bad. The beginning was a lie, the ending was changed. I can't believe Rowling approved this.

As a Harry Potter fan I enjoyed the movie. But I was left wanting more, the usual 3-3 1/2 hour movie was replaced with 2 1/2 hour movie. The movie dealt more with the characters then any other movie, action was taken down quite a bit. I won't give up any of the movie, but I was hoping for more interaction with you know who!!

The 4th movie is still my favorite of the series so far, but this is a close second. There were a few things left out of the books, but for the most part I didn't realize it during the movie, it held my interest pretty well. Gambon was a lot better in this movie, a lot closer to how I pictured Dumbledore. Spoiler--the only thing that really bugged me was the omission of the battle in Hogwarts. Snape and crew just walked out after killing Dumbledore, it was a little disappointing. Not to mention, Snape's "don't call me coward" line wasn't in the movie, which in the books was important for casting doubt on whether he was really a bad guy.

Ultra-slim plot with focus on key relationships and a balance of fun and fear. Seriously prunes the character list in the interest of setting up for the final film. Definitely a "bridge" movie. Some interesting, if not entirely successful "extra" fill scenes not from the book. Pacing of some of the dialog is off, but overall, a solid offering. Standout performances by Jim Broadbent and Michael Gambon.

Wonderful visuals, but choppy sequencing. The characters didn't really shine as much as earlier movies. Hermione and Ron were only briefly touched upon. I would have liked to have seen more backstory on Voldemort and Draco (who was glossed over, but not fully developed as a character). This was more setup for the last movie(s) than anything.

If you love the books then you will be sorely disappointed by this film. It only vaguely follows the book (at least the character names are the same) and leaves a true fan wondering how the producer could fill up 2 ½ hours with nothing.
Unnecessary scenes were added and crucial scenes were omitted. The basic premise followed the book but that is where the similarity ended. My son enjoyed the movie because he didn’t expect much, I wondered why I paid full price and my daughter raged all the way home about the worthlessness of the film.
If you never read the book and have only followed the movies you will probably like this film. However if you’ve read the book – don’t expect much.

It was okay. If you have read all the books then I think you will be disappointed. They changed how the book opened and skipped details that were important to the story and the story line was choppy. They jumped from one story to the next without explaining things. They changed a lot of how things happened compared to the book and added things that didn't happen. The worst part is they completely delete a major battle scene and the story that continues after. I did enjoy seeing the storyline come alive on the big screeen but just wish the movies would follow the books more closely. I think that this book was big enough that they should have made it into two movies just like they are planning for the last book

2 hours and 33 minutes. Yoiks! I felt every minute of it. I know this movie was more about relationships, than action but there was far more about "snogging" than necessary, perhaps appealing to the tween audience but absolutely tiresome to more adult viewers. Very key elements were missing. My biggest problem was that there was no battle between the students and the Death Eaters. This scene in the book provided the first look at those students who would eventually make up those who would engage in the final battle. And the ending was seriously lame. Disappointed? Yes. I'll wait until it comes out in DVD to see it again.

Best movie so far, while it still missed a lot that was in the books, it wasn't as noticeable this time around. The movie flowed very nicely, making the story line very easy to follow. This has to be the slowest moving HP film up to date. I even heard members of the audience say they almost fell asleep at certain parts.'I am a big fan of the books. I have been reading them since I was in 8th grade. What I find frustrating is that they took out a few characters from the book like Fleur, Bill(ron's brother), did not let the Dean character speak, gave Luna lovegood all of Tonk's lines, did not establish the relationship between tonks and lupin properly,and did not see the prime minister of england once or the ministry of magic. They also completey changed the ending! Don't get me wrong, there were some funny parts in the film and some moments they did manage to keep but I came out the theatre slightly disappointed.

die hard fans of the books might not agree. there are some scenes that are missing and some that are given more importance than necessary. There is a moment in the final scenes where Harry and Hermione are talking about one thing and then totally out of the blue, they switch topics to something else, and that left me with a 'rushed' feeling. Remember that the final part of this series is going to be two movies. Maybe they are planning to bulk up the content of those two movies with things that were 'rushed' in this one. It's a good movie, there's some laughs, some gasps, some good effects... Worth watching on the big screen!

Over All I really enjoyed this movie even if there was so much left out. I think the director really captured the in-depth dark inner turmoil, and teen angst of all three main caricatures of the books. Of course there is not enough time in the movie to give you all the book can , but I must say they did a excellent job capturing the main points of this book. Let me start off by saying i have only read books 1 and 7. So i am basing this review strictly on the knowledge i have from the previous potter movies ive seen over the years.
This movie was amazing. I don't know how else to say it. It was comical in the right amounts and the story line was brilliant as it always is. I would definitely recommend anyone who hasn't read the books to see this movie. The book readers among us will simply point out how different the movie was from the book.

Overall, HP6 was a good movie and I would recommend it to friends, however, it lacked a certain quality that the other Potter movies brought to life. In order to understand this movie, you have a know the background of the Death Eaters and of Tom Riddle (aka Voldemort). It was definitely NOT what I was expecting, but it was ok.

I'm not a Harry Potter fan. I mean, I haven't read any of the books and have fallen asleep in the first few movies that came out and then i just stopped watching the movies. Thing is, this movie actually kept me intrigued! I think it was well done, yes, the movies are long, but there is so much in the books they need to figure out a way to make it work. People complain that things were left out but the editing process must be very difficult, you can't please everyone. On that note, I was pleased. I didn't fall asleep, and the graphics were well thought out, and I would recommend you to go out and see it. There aren't that many non- animated PG movies that will attract all age audiences, this was one of them.

This was my favorite of the Harry Potter books, and I was disappointed to see that the movie did not capture the book very well at all. The main actors still play their parts well, but the movie was too choppy, and I did not like the changes made to the storyline. I think if you are not familiar with the book, you might be okay, although the movie will be very hard to follow and anyone who is familiar with the book will be wondering at times where this script came from. Helena Bonham Carter is a very good actress, but I do not like how she is protraying Bellatrix. I hope the seventh movies will be better than this one.

I dont know why people are giving this good reviews. The movie itself took up about 5 days in an entire year, the gaps were too huge to make sense, they also left out a huge battle, in fact the only decent battle. Malfoy duel was pathetic. I mean this movie was just an eyesore to the series.
