The movie was awesome! I understand that they do have to cut some things from the book, but I thought the book ending was such an important part, and they should have added more from that into the movie. Had they done that, it would have been a 5-star for sure!

I understand that the movie can not be exactly like the book, but they changed so many things and added things that weren't even relevant (burning down the Burrow). Not having the fight scene at the end was a big letdown as well. If you haven't read the book, it will be very difficult to underatnd some parts. There are some things that they didn't even explain (the Half-Blood Prince issue, which is the name of the book! They didn't even explain why Snape called himself that) I left the theatre very disappointed!

Having never read the book, I wasn't certain what to expect and decided to ignore the hype. I walked out of the theatre ready to go back in and watch the movie again to catch all of the little details that I missed the first time. I would recommend this movie to anyone who loves the Potter books and for those who have never read them. Definitely a special treat one should give to yourself.

While I can see why some might think parts were boring, but when I finally checked my watch during the movie, I was surprised to find it was already past 2hrs. The visuals just keep getting better and better. The romantic stumblings were very funny. There wasn't much in the way of magic battles, but that didn't bother me when I was in the middle of watching this film. There's more to a good movie than just epic battle scenes. This one makes me anticipate the final book/two movies even more.

I looked forward to this movie and i'm glad I saw it. But alas, I found the new HP mildly disappointing, lacking the fine-tuned light-and-dark balance and the strong supporting characters of previous films. Visually, IMHO, it's oddly lackluster—more self-consciously arty, less fun. Nevertheless, there are bright spots. Luna's swell; so's Draco, who has matured very interestingly—he could be 15 or 50. Ron's lovestruck turn is loopy and inspired. The friendship between Harry and Hermione is deep and touching. And Snape--well, Alan Rickman can do more with the space between two words than any other mortal.

My expectations were pretty low after Order of the Phoenix. I love the books, and felt that Order wasn't true enough to the book. This one was fairly true to the book (with one glaring exception - can't figure out the scene at the Burrow). But I thought they did a decent job of condensing 800 pages into 2.5 hours. In any case, my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Acting is getting better by the 3 stars, and continues to be great by the rest of the cast. Alan Rickman is still amazing as Snape.

I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed this movie all the way through. In fact, much more so than the last 2 movies. Except, and this is a big exception, the choice to omit the final battle scene from the movie was a huge let down. This was one of my favorite parts of the book; I had been waiting for it, and it would have been an action-packed ending to a great movie. Instead, well the big D gets it, some glass is broken in the great hall and then it ends. That's it. What a let down!

I definitely recommend this movie to any fans of the books or the prior films. Because it references too many prior events, I don't recommend it for anyone who is unfamiliar with the series. It was probably my second least favorite of the films (the first being the worst in my opinion), but it's necessary to build the impact for the last of the books/movies. Enjoyed myself.

This is the first one that I saw in the theater - quite frankly I was disappointed. In short, it was a drawn out story about who the half blood prince was. You don't need 2.5 hours to tell people who that was.
Nothing was explained (why evens happened) only who the prince was. I am sure that upcoming movies will tell more (I hope) and won't be as disappointing.

Now I as Im sure many of you have read all the books and fantasized my own perception the way the scenes looked. As a movie following the book, I feel so much was left out, but that's Hollywood. So I want to put it out there first and foremost that I am only reviewing this movie as a movie. So, the movie was amazing! Like my title says, "Best Potter Movie Yet!" The action, the thrill, the small love-"like" scenes, all amazing. David Yates, really went out of his way to captivate the drama and magic of Harry Potter books. PS. In my opinion Tom Felton, aka Draco, is WAY hotter than Mr. Radcliffe. Just my opinion.

Caution to parents of small children- Two scenes were scary - just as scary as previous HP movies, so I do not understand that this one is PG and the ones before were PG-13. The scare factor is on par with HP 4 and 5.
The kissing and smooching were very light. Really no big deal. I think too much has been made of this aspect in some reviews.
Overall, it was a great HP movie, light hearted, typical HP humor, w/ spectacular FX, and a very enjoyable family experience. If you liked HP 1 thru 5, you will also love this one. Highly recommended.

The entire family saw this together as we are HP fans. With that said, it is a must see for HP fans. There was far less action then previous HP flicks and it moved a little slowly. This is not my favorite movie of all the ones so far but I was rivited to my seat and would see it again. It did stray from the book a bit. I thought it was excellent, very dramatic with spotted humour. I really enjoyed the movie, but felt it was too long between the last movie and this one. I kinda lost the Harry Potter excitement in the mist of other popular movies coming out. Would love to see the next movie sooner.

I loved the first 3/4 of the film. It captures the fun of the books perfectly. The end didn't quite live up to the book, but I never expected it would. The acting is much better in this film than the previous ones. And the characters are more believable. There also seemed to be a lot more hints at things that were in the books but not necessarily explored in the movie. This made me feel like less was cut out of the book than previous movies.

We didn't want this one to end - it was so well done. A perfect continuation of this excellent series. The characters are maturing yet still maintaining the endearing qualities we fell in love with from the beginning.

Unlike the Prisoner of Azkaban (the best Harry Potter movie ever!), this movie lacked any real suspense, drama or action. I almost fell asleep during this movie waiting for something to happen.
I also don't understand why Dumbledore allowed himself to get killed. If he was such a great wizard (as he obviously was), he would not have allowed a mere student to disarm him. But perhaps this will be explained in more detail in the upcoming movies.
The movie definitiely had its light-hearted and funny moments.
