I definitely enjoyed this Harry Potter movie. I'm a real fan of the books and other movies, but this one was one of the better films. It was much less dark and had some moments that were very funny eventhough the subject matter was serious. I enjoyed seeing the main characters grow and deal with regular teenage issues. Even younger children will enjoy this one. I can't wait for the next films.

I was upset to see the many ommisions from the book. Dumbledoors funeral and the wedding preperations with Ron's brother. Also, in the book, there is more of a battle at Hogwarts at the end but there isnt any battle at all in this movie. I kinda wonder if whoever wrote this movie actually read the entire book? I am really worried about HP7 and the need to try and split it in 2 movies. I think they could have worked more on the feelings between Harry and Ginny and Hermione and Ron. However, my wife who hadnt read any of the books liked it. So I think if you dont know what you missed, its ok

Storyline was very vague and seemed more centered on the love triangle of Weasley and Howard instead of important elements of the story. There was very little detail given, and the climactic fight scene at the end was anything but that. Overall, I think this is the worst potter film to date.

If you loved the books like I have and actually read them then this movie will leave you wishing they could have stayed true to it. As a movie that the unread public will go and see it is visually amazing, funny, and exciting.
Unfortunately, it unforgivably strays from the book in too many areas, actually leaving out parts and adding things that the author never wrote into the story. This leaves me with an ominous feeling for the butchery that will no doubt happen in the next and last 2 movies?
As most people I know have not read this book they feel it's the best yet. But, if they only knew how good the books were...

This movie was truly another classic; the devoted team at Warner Bros. Pictures has again been able to transform (or "transfigure!") another one of J.K. Rowling's classic volumes into a movie of epic proportions. The acting, on all accounts, was simply brilliant. (Humor was more evident in this film than in any other!) It was obvious that each moment of the film was perfectly designed to evoke a particular emotion in the audience. My only complaint was that the musical score was not fully appropriate. Perhaps John Williams' continued association with the films would've made this movie as musically brilliant as the others. Overall, I enjoyed the magical experience and anxiously await the release of the next two spellbinding films. Bravo!

I was expecting so much more from this movie and I was very disappointed with the way that the plot jumped around, and how many of the key scenes from the book were left out. I would have been totally happy if the movie would have been longer.

The movie was excellent. I highly recommend it. Although if you haven't read the books it might be very confusing. I felt the movie deviated from the book more than the other Harry Potter movies have but it was still enjoyable. Definately worth seeing!

I liked The Half Blood Prince very much. There were some surprising twists that I had decided were not going to happen in the latter movies (suspected one of the twists early on then dismissed it). The ending surprised me, however, a good lead into the next installment.
I have not, by the way, read any of the books.

I didn't know if the movie would go along with the book very well considering how some of the other movies have ventured from the books a bit; but this one went along pretty well although there was a few things left out. I was a little dissapointed with the ending however Im sure it was that way to keep us comming back for more. I liked how they reminded us that Harry, Hermonie, and Ron have grown up. It was a good mixture of romance, darkness, and just enough action.

This movie was not only untrue to the book but also not easy to follow. For die hard fans who have read the books multiple times, the 2 and a half hours is a grueling version of what used to be HP and the Half-blood Prince. While at the same time, those fans who only attend the movies are left without any good flow to the story which jumps around and omits character development. This movie left me wondering if J.K. Rowling really cares about anything but the money.

I absolutely loved this movie. Once again the cast was outstandingly diverse and talented. The special effects were fantastic. However, I think what made this film work is the fact that they used a lot of humor to lighten up what is unquestionably one of the darkest periods of the Harry Potter Series. I haven't laughed so much since Chamber of Secrets. Sure there were a few awkward moments, and the ending was a bit abrupt, but overall I still give it 5 stars. I can't wait for the next one.

Tried to squeeze too much into one movie. The plot went fast and the characters didn't grow as in other HP movies. Great for those who read the book but I wonder what they edited out. If the DVD includes lots of deleted scenes it could be special. Art direction was spectacular.

This is by far the best Harry Potter movie to date. It was filled with lots of suspense and laughs. The only thing that upset me was the death of Dumbledore. I am sorry he won't be in the next movie. They did a fantastic job not leaving anything out of the storyline. Everyone did a great job with their performances in this film. I did like that this installment also reached out to the more mature crowd. They have done a great job showing how much you change with age and new experiences you come accross. I was extremely disappointed. There’s so much content in the books, why make up scenes that don't even exist, major plots changed. Leaving out the funeral was inexcusable. That is one of the most pivotal events that happen in the entire series and it's not in the movie? Seriously? If you're a fan, be prepared for disappointment. Scenes rushed through, major plots completely ignored, Lupin & Tonks were only in a short scene. I feel like the series has been betrayed. If not a fan of the books, it's a great movie. Action packed, laugh out loud hilarious, devastating ending. Friends who’ve not read the books felt like they missed out on huge storylines. I do recommend it to my friends but I warn them to be prepared for a different story.

As of now, I would have to say that this movie bests the previous ones. The plot line is much darker than the previous ones, though the writers threw in a lot of comedy and romance to lighten the mood. The effects in this movie were very good, as they usually are with Harry Potter movies. I would recommend this movie to anyone who has a remote interest in Harry Potter. It’s a great adaptation of the book and worth seeing at least once!

I loved this movie and thought that it was honestly the best one yet! It was funny, touching, sad and exciting all at the same time. They did leave some things out, but its impossible to get everything- I still just thought it was a well done movie!! Go see it!

I was really disappointed in the translation of the book to movie this time around. A lot of scenes were missing or changed dramatically from the book. They also added scenes to the movie that were not in the book. If I hadn't just re-read the book, I think the movie itself would have been much more exciting and enjoyable.

The film is overall very good. The visual effects are sharp and plot builds hype towards the climax that is to come. The only problem, as with all the Potter films, is that all of us fans of the book series are left wanting as the film cannot possibly absorb all the details that are told in the book. So, the movie itself is very good. Just wish that more of the facets of information the book offers could have made it into the movie.

I and my children enjoyed the movie. You can't realistically expect to get the same amount of detail from a movie as you get in the book. I think the movie was a fair representation of the main events in the book. As many have noted there were some things changed or moved about, but that's to be expected. Overall another great movie, I'm sure we'll buy it and watch it over and over.
