I saw this movie on the opening night it was very good I would recommend seeing it. However there are a couple of Harry Potter movies that were much better. I felt a little let down in some of the things that the movie missed that the book had that was important. But all in all it was a good movie.

this move was the lamest so far. Hardly any fight seens. Not much action at all and what there is only lasts about 20 seconds. If your not an avid fan that reads all the books twice then this movie doesnt even keep your attention. Nothing is revealed and it seems to end for no reason. Special effects are good at times.

I realize there is a HUGE effort in making a film like this; however, it was just too slow moving and way too long (2.5 hours!). They could have cut out an hour of boring dialog that wasn't essential to the visual story. I agree with others that the battle at the end shouldn't have been cut.

HP 6 Who knew we would get this far. this movie was spectacular, while it did not exactly follow the book ( which is its only down fall) it told an epic tale of a boy finally coming into his own.
The special effects were better than all of the previous movies, and seeing Draco get put down in dramatic fashion was a high point of the picture.
it was sad to see Dumbledor die but as in life there are greater things worth dying for other than yourself.
I definatly wou;d reccomend this movie to anyone who is a Potter fan or if it is your first movie SEE IT!!!

Character development was good, really beginning to show these characters growing up. Special effects continue to amaze. However, the plot was a lot of exposition and not much in the way of developing the story until the last 20 minutes of the movie. It was just not focused enough. At almost 2 1/2 hours, I felt like there were parts that this movie should have either been two parts or better edited into one. Right now it seems like this confused version of an in between the two. Overall, definitely worth seeing and probably one of the better Potter movies, but the studio gets a thumbs down for their editing job and choice on whether this would be two movies or just one.

this is what ONLY a big studio can do when it sets craftsmen free. there's art direction and lighting here that you rarely see any more -- clean, expressive and deeply assured. director yates is no trickster. his camera mostly seems to disappear -- it's the austere lighting that keeps you gripped. and the special effects linger without lambasting you. the three kids their best ever, gambon grave and restrained, and rickman unflashily brilliant, as he's been throughout. newcomer broadbent is wonderful.

As one of those who sees the movie before reading the book, I can say that coming into the theater with a many questions unanswered, this movie explained the plot out pretty well. The only thing that required explanation afterward from someone who had read all the books was why Snape was the half-blood prince - that was not explained very well, but it was hinted at very well with the potions book and all. (How was I to know that Voldermort wasn't just as good at potions too, though?)
Anyway, good movie. Not as good as Goblet of Fire and much more narrow scope, but well done.

Overall a very enjoyable movie. Although I expected some book content to be shortened or missing, I was a bit disappointed about the way the ending was handled. Other than that point, I think this movie was well done and although I don't think it will create any new Potter fans, it certainly doesn't seem to do anything to alienate the current fan-base. If watched next to earlier Potter movies the advancement of CGI becomes remarkably evident.

Yes, this movie was as good as everyone raves about. I wouldn't quite give it a 5/5, a 4.5 maybe. It's up there.
The effects for this movie were astounding I have to say. The cave scene wasn't as exciting as I would have hoped, but it was still good. When Katie Bell touched the cursed necklace I got the chills.
The only problem I had with the movie was it wasn't as true to the book as I would have liked. I actually took notes about what was different. I understand the reasons they did this, to make it different than the book and to take up less time, but I am pro book and I was a little disappointed.
Overall, however, I would have to say this is one of the best Harry Potter movies out and I think everyone should see it.

I think this movie was good but it wasn't as close to the book as I wished it would have been! I hink that the best 1 so far was Order of the Pheonix this one would be 2nd best. It has really good parts don't get me wrong but they left a LOT of the really good parts out for parts that were either not as relevant or mayve that dragged on and on and on!

My husband & I are big Harry Potter fans and I was a bit reluctant to see this latest one, because the last two seemed to be very dark to me. But we went to see this last night and we both loved it! The humor, surprises and even the scary parts, just reminded me so much of how the very first movie was to us and I must say that this movie and the first are now my absolute favorites! Can hardly wait to see the final two!

Honestly, this movie was just great. I did not know what to expect because I have still not read the 6th book. So I suppose the ending was a little shocking to me. Regardless, the movie was spectacular and I would assume that it followed the story in the book very closely. Obviously some details have to be lost for the sake of time, but it is a movie to watch again and again.

Maybe it was the hype, but I think not. Great cast, great acting, great scenery, great special effects. Lousy screnplay. Confusion about why the HB Prince's textbook was a problem, jumping between scenes, tedious discussions. On other HP movies, I could say, "That was almost a good as the book." Lotta fluff and not enough stuff. Eh, you know what I mean. Just think this was aimed to please the masses and make them giggle (which they did) and left me wanting to see so much more, LIKE THE FINAL BATTLE IN THE SCHOOL! It was like going to a "Star Wars" movie and they cut the final lightsaber duel. Could have done with about 10 minutes less of Ron's snogging and about 30 minutes more dark battling. Couldn't believe 40 minutes into it I was losing interest and wondering what time it was.

We have been counting down the days all summer to see this show! My 12 year old has read the book twice, he was upset that lots of things were left out. We were both sad that the final battle was missing. My 10 year old who is still working on book #3 thought the show was great! He had his eyes covered in one scene because it was a little scary. The movie is fun and a little bit lighter than past Potter films. We plan to see it again.

Wow I have been waiting for this movie for over a year now and when I finally see it... well it doesn't even hold a candleto what I thoguht it would be like. The ending was a major dissapointment, all the major action was gone and I was looking forward to seeing that battle onscreen. Leting off the final conversation with the Order and having Tonks and Remus together with out the Tonks having to convice Remus actually really mad me mad. The only good part is that Snape finally got some screen time. Overall it was okay but I'm hoping the final two moives will be better.

I went to HP6 opening day with my 7 year old, who has read all the books and I was not dissapointed at all. True, HP purists will find that there are some great parts left out and other parts are radically changed, but overall the movie was enjoyable, funny, frightening, and did not depart from the overall "feel" and "message" of the HP books.don't deprive yourself of the opportunity to just enjoy a good 2 1/2 hour romp. The ONLY scene I would warn parents about is when Harry it attempting to fetch water after Dumbledore retrieved the Horcrux some creatures jump out rather suddenly. I really wouldn't wait for the DVD to come out, the movie was visually spectacular and worth the price of admission.

I have seen every HP movie in the theater and haven't read any of the books, So since I follow from the movie perspective I have to say I was a little disappointed in this one. It was good, but it missed the epic battles that I looked fwd. to the teenage aspects were good, w/funny and sad moments. But I was that spooked this time around except when they are getting the Horcrex. A couple of things felt rushed or skipped, and of course made sense after I asked someone who read the book. It was good...could've been better.

There are many great things about this movie. Everything from the humor (much improved from the other films), to the astounding graphics. However, I do have a few complaints. First, in every other film the portraits, and newspaper pictures moved continuously, even if they were in the faded background. In this one majority of the time the animation was not there. Second, I really wish they had stuck with the true ending of the book, with Dumbledor's funeral. Third, Where were the familiar rooms? Where was Snape's defense against the dark arts room? Where were most of the old teachers?. Don;t get me wrong, even with these complaints this movie was wonderful, and I truly enjoyed my 2.5 hours in the theater!

This movie was awesome! I was kind of thrown off for a bit because it was different than the previous 5. While I enjoyed all the past ones, this movie had a more serious and epic feel to it. But don't let the epic feel trick you because there is lots of humor tied into the movie as well. All the actors did a fabulous job and made each scene extremely believeable. Gambon at one point gave me goosebumps.
I also read the book and of course there are some things different, some stuff added, or some stuf excluded, ...but fans need to treat the movies and books as different entitys. As a film, id give it 5 stars...if judging how it relates to the book, then 4.5 stars..that averages out to an A.....GO SEE IT!

Amazing. I absolutely loved it. Great acting (esp. Slughorn), good balance between dark and light, gorgeous visuals. Considering how much had to be simplified and changed to fit a 700+ page book into a 2.5 hour movie, it was amazingly well done and true to the feel of the book. Can't wait to see it again!

This Harry Potter installment was good. Like the Goblet of Fire though I think it suffered from some added scenes that were not needed and cut a few out that I think would have better served the story of the movie. I also knock off a star because of the ending, not because it wasn't like the book, but because just in the movies logical terms it didn't make much sense. Overall it was a good movie, it looked great the cast was excellent and the humor was well done.
