Everyone's expectations were too high in my opinion, but the movie did not dissapoint. Not in the least. I would have never guessed that I'd like this so much. It was dark and somewhat disturbing but one of the most entertaining movies ever. This is a must see for any movie fan and should be at the top of the list for any comicbook movie fan. The movie was so far off from the kiddie superhero stance the TV show and some previous batman movies took. It was PG-13 but could easily have been an R, which is great for me. The muting of a curse word or a scene where the camera pans for a second as a character is being executed do a great job at keeping it as violent as it should be for us to believe these are indeed real criminals (and in many cases, the worst of the criminals) Batman is fighting. Go see it!

This was a FANTATSIC movie! Even at 2.5 hours long, I didn't once look at my watch and I never even noticed the time. I was caught up in the movie from beginning to end. My husband and I loved the first movie, but think it pales in comparison to the sequel. I highly recommend it to all (except small children).

This movie lives up to the hype, and then some! True, it's dark & gritty, but hey -- that's what the title is all about. Heath Ledger's performance is just unbeleivable, and if he doesn't get the Oscar posthumously, then there's something wrong somewhere. Everyone else is just as good, and the makeup effects for Aaron Eckhart's Two-Face are amazing. GO SEE IT!

Heath Ledger absolutely stole the show as the Joker in this latest Batman. While Christian Bale was no slouch, I didn't quite connect with his raspy trying-too-hard-to-not-be-Bruce-in-a-cape take this time round. I don't recall that degree of voice changing last time and it made him sound a little too grungy.
Heath on the other hand with every gesture, word, or spasmodic lick of the lips, conveyed I-know-I'm-crazy-but-it's-worked-so-far.
The supporting cast was excellent, though I didn't buy Maggie G's version of Rachel...she reminds me too much of Harriet Sansom Harris (she played Frasier's crazy agent Bebe) to believe as Bruce's ex.
But when its all said and done, its a hell of a ride and worth the price of admission to see Heath's last and easily most memorable role.

Not only is Bale the best Batman ever, Ledger comes through with what I think is the superhero villain of all time. Filled with intense, dark humor, Ledger's Joker makes people cringe and laugh at the same time. Simply AWESOME.

It's hard to know what exactly to say about this movie. I don't think it should've had a PG-13 rating; the content is not something you would take your 13 year old to see, and they would most likely not understand alot of the story.
I loved this movie. It was much darker and much more real than the first movie. It got much more into the world of Batman's mind and how everything that goes on affects him, and where his conflicts lie. I really felt like it pulled me into the story. Heath Ledger did an amazing portrayal as the Joker and turned him into one of the creepiest bad guys I've seen on screen in a long time.
It's an excellent movie that I'd recommend anyone above the age of 17 see.

This was so good, so worth the one hour wait in line. Heath Ledger was flawless as the joker, I believe this movie would have skyrocketed his career. Christian Bale does Bruce Wayne justice. Just awesome the audience clapped at the end, this felt like what movies used to feel like a long time ago with everyone in the audience completely engaged!

It's sad he's gone and won't be able to capture such an in-depth role again for this very fragile franchise. Bale brought it back from the depths of B rated movies and Ledger sealed it as a new era for Gotham.

Acting was fenominal but 2.5 hrs was a bit too long for my taste. I became very figity in the seat. If the theater had roomy reclining seats, that would make a big difference.

My daughters suggested we see this movie and it was very good. Lots of action, lots of twists and Heath Ledger was off the Hook as the Joker. I would strongly suggest seeing this one on the big screen.

simple...you make a damn good movie. Christopher Nolan has done just that. Unlike the works of Burton and Schumaker, Nolan has done his homework. He got rid of the neon lights, the glow in the dark machine guns and delivered a true dark and at times disturbing drama. True fans of the Batman character like myself applauded throughout most of the film. Tough for the kiddies to see. Kudos, kudos Chris Nolan for a Batman masterpiece. This is the Dark Knight of hard cover books brought to life on the big screen. I can not wait for this to come out on DVD-HD so that I can play it on a repeat loop.

The Dark Knight is a very well acted movie. Heath Ledger was incredible as well as the other characters. It was kind of confusing at times. The scenes jumped around and was hard to follow. It is definitely worth watching again...for entertainment and to understand!

This is one of the best movies of the year and is highly anticipated. Many people who havent watched this movie and are thinking about the negatives, as in: Its overanticipated, overrated, and might not have a good story. That, is where they are wrong. This movie has a perfect story, the hero(es) and villin(s) are perfectly in scheme, not the mention the surprise it gives us about another villian we didnt know about, its not overrated and I beleive it is under anticipated. This movie has made probably the best movie of the decade and im pretty sure Heath Ledger will receive an oscar for this movie for his role which is very funny.
So all in all i reccomend this movie with two thumbs up and not just to see it, see it twice!

Ledger made the movie plain and simple...not because hes redoing a character peformed brillianatly by Nickleson or because he passed away 6 months ago. His performance was nuthing short of perfect and he stole every scene he was in; the movie was still very well made but without ledger i would have given it 3 stars.

great film, done much differently than the batmans of the past and is in my opinion much better. Filming in chicago was gorgeous but didnt looke like it would be your typical gotham city of the past. This films is leaps and bounds ahead of the clooney and mr. freeze days. seen the movie 3 times in 4 days.
