I was disappointed in this movie. I'd been told, "don't look at it as a remake of the original, just as it's own separate film." But it just isn't a good one. All the performances seemed wooden, and the 3D was a waste, especially since they said right from the beginning, that it was added on, after the movie had been filmed. They should have saved the studio the money. Personally, I'd say, skip this one.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

A friend of mine had been waiting for this movie w/ bated breath, and got me interested in seeing it, so I got the comic to read, before I saw it. It is pretty graphic, and violent, but it seemed to follow the comic very well. It definitely is not a kids movie, but if youre into action, or just a fan, I'd definitely recommend it. In fact, I just saw it again, for the second time, because my 17-year-old niece wanted to see it again.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

This movie lives up to the hype, and then some! True, it's dark & gritty, but hey -- that's what the title is all about. Heath Ledger's performance is just unbeleivable, and if he doesn't get the Oscar posthumously, then there's something wrong somewhere. Everyone else is just as good, and the makeup effects for Aaron Eckhart's Two-Face are amazing. GO SEE IT!
