I was afraid the hype was going to kill the movie, but it certainly did not. The movie is the best super hero movie ever made (yes, better than Iron Man and Spidey 2) and Ledger's Joker is clearly a top 10 Villain of all time.

I went to the sold out midnight showing of The Dark Knight and couldn't imagine a better way to spend 2hr and 30 mins. Batman has ALWAYS been my favorite super hero and Christian Bale has blown me away now twice. Aside from the fact that Christian Bale was amazing (which everyone already knew from the first) the action was incredible. My stomach was in a knot the entire time because they managed to keep every moment intense. Everyone was expecting the Joker to be insane, and he lives up to the expectations. The late Heath Ledger stole the movie. He truly embodied every creepy, comical and crazy tick that The Joker has. There are some unexpected twists that make the movie worth seeing. I'm planning on going again as soon as I can. It is without a doubt the best summer movie this year. Nothing will beat it.

I don't know what to say... it was riveting, I couldn't take my eyes off of the screen for a moment. Heath Ledger was absolutely stunning/frightening. It was powerful and purposeful, not just action for the sake of action. I was just blown away, a definite must-see.

This is, and I say this with no doubt in my mind whatsoever, the quintessential Batman movie. . . Ledger's last role was brilliant. The movie brings about a darker side of Batman than even Burton could pull off with the likes of Keaton. This movie is by far the greatest BAtman movie to date. If you are a fan of Batman, and you don't go see this movie in the theater, you are an imbecile of elephantine proportions.

Movie is still hard to break down. I'm still shocked by how great it was. As a movie period this ranks up there no matter the genre. Nolan directed an epic/action/drama/adventure/thriller/whatever film with this masterpiece. The actors really took a hold of their characters proudly. I believe to the point they want no one else to recognize any actor as these comic book icons.

The Dark Knight takes the viewers on the ride of a lifetime. Christian Bale kills it again playing his role as the BEST BATMAN BY FAR. Heath Ledger left everyone in shock as he portrayed the best character in any film i have seen. As soon as the movie closes you will want to run out to the ticket booth and see it again. INCREDIBLE!

throughout the entirety of the movie, i could only watch in awe and regret as heath ledgers performance was the most huanting rendition of the joker i've ever seen. The joker was played with such a ravenous intensity that the more i love the joker, the more i hate him. becuase nothing will be able to top his performance. A second movie with the joker? don't even think about it. if you cant do it better, don't do it.

I was worried going into the movie that my expectations were so high that there was no way they could be satisfied, but I was wrong. The Dark Knight was amazing in all aspects. Action, acting, plot, character development, effects, music, etc. Heath Ledger was amazing. Highly recommend.

Batman Begins was excellent, it convinced me that good movies are still possible to make, it revitalized the comic book film in general, and the woefully degraded Batman franchise in particular.
Compared to 'The Dark Knight', though, 'Begins' was a mere rolling up of the sleeves. There's meat here. This is a film into which one's teeth should be sunk without delay. It will make your head spin, your heart race, and your mouth open. And then you'll be very quiet for a very long time, because there's not much one can justify saying after watching a picture like this. Please go see it.

As a devout Batman fan all my life I was slowly swayed into seeing Batman Begins the second week it came out. After the film I was mildly impressed and after watching it a few more times I finally gave in and agreed that it was a good film and was fairly accurate and true to the vision of Frank Miller.
The Dark Knight, however, will knock your pants off and stick chewing gum in your hair in the first 3 minutes. This film is hands down the best 'super hero' film ever made and will eclipse all others accordingly. Bale and Ledger are a brilliant duo who capture, completely, so much of what we all love about the most recognizable hero/villain combo ever.
See this movie NOW! Don't wait because you'll not be able to avoid hearing people talk about it everywhere soon.

An excellent movie that perfectly translated some of my favorite characters from the pages of comics and graphic novels onto the big screen. The Joker was perfectly portrayed as an unhinged psychopath with Batman facing an inner struggle between his moral compass and what it would take to defeat the Joker. A movie that was absolutely worth it to see.

Best in Theater chills since Return of the King. If this has become the second story in a saga of a Christian Bale headed Batman, I'm afraid Michael Keaton and George Clooney will need to find new characters to ultimately define their career. All aspects of the movie made Batman a major force in yet another generation of fans.

Well...to keep it short and sweet...great film...I really enjoyed the first film and this was even better them that. This is definitely a multiple viewing movie. All the actors did outstanding jobs with their respective characters but it was Heath's perfomance that made it all work. Regardless of his untimely passing his performance is well worth and would be well deserving of an oscar and academy award nod. I'm very anxious to see where they take the franchise from here. Go enjoy this move becuase it does not disappoint!

This movie certainly did NOT disappoint. The Joker/Heath Ledger def stole the show, but you still can't help but love the caped crusader. The Joker is my favorite villain of all time and Heath portrayed him the way I always wanted him to be: menacing, terrrifying, dark, and with a haunting sense of humor >-}
The true character of Batman is defined by this movie and Chris Nolan does an awesome job allowing the audience to feel like they are a part of Gotham. Expect alot of twists, great acting, and explosive action! I LOVE IT and I'm going back to watch it again tonight! It's the kind of film that you need to watch twice because there is alot going on.
I recommend this to every Batman fan and anyone who loves a good movie that can take out of your own existence for a few hrs.

This is the best Batman movie ever made. Christian Bale once again did a good job. All in all, as much as I like Christian Bale, Heath Ledger was the one that stole the show. His role as The Joker is going to be classic for years to come. The personality of an archenemy has never been portrayed as well as it was by Heath. His performance should earn him nominations for awards. I am really impressed by the movie as a whole. It was dramatic with scenes of suspense followed by scenes of action scenes. Best Batman Movie by Far.

This is the best Batman movie ever! No disrespect to any of the other movies but this one was great on pretty much every level that there is. This is, by far, the best Batman film ever made, and I would even go further to say that it is probably the best superhero movie of any sort ever made. This film transcends the superhero genre. Essentially, it is not about Batman. Rather, it is about all of us, about the nature of evil, and about what it takes to be a hero in the modern world. In these tough times for America, Christopher Nolan's film manages to perfectly capture the pessimistic tone of contemporary American society while still offering us some hope.
Aside from the film's main themes, the acting is simply superb. Heath Ledger delivers a truly Oscar-worthy performance. There are few instances when it is even possible to tell who the actor is under the makeup. He has created one of the most terrifying villains ever to grace the screen and he has done it so perfectly that he almost entirely disappears into the character.
Aaron Eckhart is also superb as Harvey Dent. Wonderfully faithful to Loeb and Sale's graphic novels, the origin of Two-Face is done perfectly by Eckhart.
All in all, this movie is one that I would see over and over again, because of its excellent take on American society and for the dazzling, screen-stealing performances of Ledger and Eckhart. Truly amazing.

Finally a movie that lives up to the hype...and a performance (Heath Ledger's Joker) that does as well. What an engaging movie this was. I never found myself bored for a moment and this was a LONG movie. The story line was fantastic and kept you on the edge of your seat. Heath Ledger's performance was so good you forgot it was he who was playing the Joker. NO question worthy of a best supporting actor nomination. And the movie? Let's just say it would be a travesty if it isn't considered for best picture. It was the greatest sci-fi movie of all-time. Better than Iron Man (in horse racing terms by about 8 lengths)! I'd tell everyone to go see this movie, but that is futile....I already know you will.
