In short, this was one of the best movies I have ever seen. The only reason I don't like to say that is because I don't want to ruin your expectations. But if you are disappointed with this movie then you are never going to like any movie you ever see. Heat Ledger was mind blowing.

There is far too much to say but to start, I was looking forward to seeing The Dark Knight for months and thankfully I was not let down. The Dark Knight was the best movie I have ever seen and I am no easy critic. Christian Bale played the best Batman possible and Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker exceeded my expectations. I allowed the Joker to take me with his performance and I didn't regret it. Heath Ledger/The Joker was hysterical yet didn't cease to terrify me. I have never had the pleasure of being so manipulated by an actor on screen. Michael Caine did an outstanding job as Harvey Dent and his alter ego Two-Face couldn't have been more convincing. The Dark Knight is sure to make you think and provide you with one if not the most enjoyable film to hit theaters thus far.
Christopher Nolan executed The Dark Knight perfectly!

The movie was AWESOME! My overwhelming anticipation of its release was definitely rewarded. Visually it was amazing: great fight scenes, fantastic camera angles and strategic lighting. Although I was a bit disappointed in some of the aspects of the story that conflicted with the comic book and I was a surprised (not in a good or bad way) at how they portrayed Harvey Dent as a "villian," overall I was extremely pleased with the outcome of the movie. Heath Ledger is Joker and no one will ever be able to replace him in this Batman saga.

I always thought of Batman as a darker superhero (than say Superman or any of the others), Batman Begins, brought some reality to the Character, however I think In this movie the Joker stole the show, they should have named this movie The JOKER. I didnt see much of the darker side of the DARK KNIGHT, However by the end of the movie you will understand the title. I enjoyed the many twists and turns but I enjoyed Batman Begins better. Still a good movie Glad I saw it.

This movie was way better than I thought it was going to be. Christian Bale was amazing, I am not a reader of comics but it was great. Heath should definitely be getting an award for this! There was action throughout the whole movie and I loved it!!

I thought this movie was excellent. It really grabbed you in. Since I am training to be a psychologist, it was interesting to see Heath Ledger's portrayal of the Joker. It felt very real, not some over-the-top caricature, but like genuine psychopathology. It actually made me wonder if playing that role is what led him to his overdose, as he seemed to really throw himself completely into it. I would have had trouble sleeping and have had high anxiety if I was required to be that person for my job. Please, realize that I am not saying this flippantly, but in genuine concern. I don't know why his death affected me so much, as I was not a die-hard Heath Ledger fan, but it did.
Well, now that I've probably depressed anyone reading this, I really do want to say that it was an excellent movie. It was action packed, heart wrenching, disturbing, and had twists and turns that kept me guessing. I would highly recommend this movie unless you're looking for only some light entertainment. This is not that movie. This is a movie that sucks you in to a dark realm. If you don't want to be there, don't see it. If you are willing to go there, though, you will not regret it. My only criticism is that it did feel a little long, but that's because it was (2 hours and 30 minutes). To sum it up, it was excellent, but a bit dark and disturbing. I kind of like that, though, so I am a bit biased.

I guess that statement could be said about the prequel Batman Begins, and to a certain extent the Spiderman series too. However, this movie plays even less like a superhero movie and is definitely the best comic 2 film movie to date. If it weren't for the intense action sequences, you would think you were watching intese crime thriller in the tradition of Heat or The French Connection. I don't want to give away too much because you have to see this film to believe it. I will say that Heath Ledgers is tremendous. Yes, he honestly does deserve an oscar for it and no, it would not be a sympathy vote. It just made me extremely dissapointed that he won't be able to reprise this role in a sequel.

I thought it had a nice proportion of action and storyline. I am happy with the length because I think it allowed for enough time for them to not shortchange the storyline. Not sure if Christian Bale's performance was as good as the last one but Maggie Gylenhall was much better than Katie Homes and all of the villains were very well cast.

First thing is first, hats off to Heath Ledger for his performance. An amazing job by the entire cast bringing to the screen one of the most memorable movie-going experiences that I have had. hands down the best movie this year. a bit dark for the younger audiences but it is something you can't miss.

The movie was the best movie i have seen in years. I was not upset in anyway, the characters were amazing and don't let the length scare you, they fill in every gap.
Take your friends, family, just make sure your seat is comfortable because it is lengthy.

This movie could be one of the best movies i have seen in the last few years. The acting is amazing the stunts are very believable, but mostly the joker is intense, I dont think anyone will ever be able to play the part as good, so i hope they dont try and fill it later.

I'm absolutely adoring this new run of Batman movies. First Batman Begins, and now this. Gone are the days when directors pander to the 'stupids', assuming that the general public won't understand intricate plots and the questioning of morality. The roles were incredibly well-acted, the plot held you, the dark comedy could have you in stitches in no time...

I was simply speechless as I left the movie theater after this masterpiece. With most great movies I have something to say, but I was all smiles and no words as the credits rolled down the screen. I could not believe my high expectations were finally met. This is a dark psychological thriller that is much more than a "superhero" film. Heath Ledger fooled me into thinking the hero could not win, while Michael Caine reassured me everything will be alright. I would tell you to go see this movie, but I know that you will.

Every performance was spot on! Costumes, amazingly perfect! Christian Bale is so perfect as Bruce Wayne, the playboy and the vigilante Batman. Heath Ledger? OMG, the creepiest, scariest Joker imaginable, just like in the comics! Harvey Dent? I believed in Harvey Dent and was so upset watching his fall.
God, it was perfect! Go and see it!

So, I have been awake for far longer than any person my age should be, and I have to up until much later tonight...
However, it waaaaaas worth it!! First off there was like 8 trailers in front of it, most of which I'd already blogged about and linked to, but a couple I hadn't heard about yet. Christian Bale played Batman just the way he had in the first film, but with a bit more motivation. Aaron Eckhart was very solid as Harvey Dent, and his "make-up" later on in the film was incredible. Gary Oldman has a much more significant role in this one, and he's an accomplished actor, so another good point. The action, timing, special effects, and story were all spot on. Very impressed. AND, when you think the movie will end, because that's what they do, end it, leave you with a cliffhanger for the third movie because this is the second one...Batman continues to build, and then give you a complete resolution, while still having the open for the third.
Now onto what you've been waiting for, Heath's portrayal of the Joker. Astonishing, simply astonishing. The key to being a good actor is that you forget your watching an actor, and considering he's no longer with us, that's a very tough thing to get out of your head,. He was the Joker, no question. And what a joker, he was completely demented, totally dark, and vicious. In my opinion, better than Jack Nicholson, hands down.
Now to the bad...I was really only disappointed by the fact that Katie Holmes has been replaced by Maggie Gyllenhaal. She looked too old, and way less attractive. She should have fired her make up people, it was not great at all. But, that's only thing I didn't like. Go see it, don't miss out, this will be the top grossing movie of the year.
