I won't spoil anything for anyone and I'll keep this quick. This movie was genius. The genius part about the movie is it kept building suspense throughout the movie and didn't let viewers down when it came time for the climax. Not to mention that this movie keeps Batman the way everyone likes him... awesome.

Much like Nolan's Batman Begins, The Dark Knight grabs hold and does't let go until the end - and this one ups the tension, thrills, and awesome dynamics between all of the characters (JOKER, anyone?!). A really, really fun film to go and watch, and then one to see again, to think about. I imagine this one will be out in theatres for a while.....which rocks, because then I can see it a few more times. :-) Definitely go and see this film!

This is the best movie I have seen come out in a long time. The only negative thing I can say is that batman's voice does not sound realistic, but that's just me being picky. The acting, the editing...they were all perfect. What a great way to remember Ledger.

Watched midnite viewing with mostly young adults, myself a older woman. Crowd was very rowdy before film. Once movie started, everybody was glued to the screen and their seats. I have to say that Heath Ledger's performance was fantastic. You don't see or hear the actor, it's the Joker you are watching up there in all his demented glory. The critics were right, he was good. All the actors were good in fact. They were all giving of themselves, even the bit players. Chris Nolan did a great job. This movie will stand the test of time.

Great storyline and incredible acting. I feel like the movie was a little rushed. I know it is over 2hrs. long, but in my opinion certain elements were left out or not pursued because the director was trying to get the movie down to a reasonable timeframe. This movie is much, much, much better than Spider-Man 3 but has the similar problem.....one-third of the movie should have been cut out and used for the next film and other interesting angles could have been expanded upon. I definitely think everyone should see this borderline masterpiece and then go see it again to catch things you missed the first time because everything was moving so fast.
Long Live The Joker!!!!!!

By far the greatest joker interpretation. Heath Ledger does an incredible job and really draws the Dark Knight to a whole other level. Everything about the movie was just simply amazing. I would see this movie a hundred times and still would never get old.

My God... I have NEVER seen a more amazing villain than the Joker!!! Heath Ledger blew this movie out of the water!!!! Sure I love Batman but Joker... OMG. Heath did a phenominal job! And yum the Smith and Weston 760... so proud of our company.

Usually when I leave a theater I instantly think "Oh, this movie could have been so much better if...", but that never entered my head after The Dark Knight. There were no regretable casting choices, everyone seemed perfect for their roles; the action was intense, but not overly gory; and the storyline was solid (so rare in superhero movies!). Perhaps my only regret after seeing this movie, was the knowledge that Heath Ledger was dead and would be unable to reprise his amazing role as the Joker. If you loved Batman Begins, this movie will live up to your expectations; if you loved the Spider-man trilogy, be warned, this movie is darker and more intense!

Probally so. The good. All the actors, the direction, and the music were all top notch. Some of the action scenes with no music was just a brave decision on mr. Nolan's part. Heath Ledger? Perfect, one of the best villans ever captured on film. Nuff said. Gary Oldman is also at the top of his game. Now for the bad. While an improvment over the first film we still face the problem of getting the messege of the film hammered into our brains. But like I said not nearly as bad as the first film on that point. Harvey Dent's transformation happens way to fast. More time should have been spent on this. Some nitpicking of gadgets, but then again not nearly as bad as the first one as far as unbelievable. Excellent movie a bit overhyped but what isn't these days.

I had high expectations for this movie. I didn't want these high expectations, but I just couldn't help it- the first one was just so damn good. And you know how it is with high expectations with movies- you're always let down.
Well this is a movie that will NOT let you down. My expectations were beyond satisfied. Definitely recommend seeing TDK- ASAP. One of THE best movies of the year. It was so worth waiting six hours in line for.

This movie certainly lived up to the hype. After seeing all the previews, trailers, myspace covers, magazine, comic, and bus line ads, it was hard to suspect that this movie had any surprises left. It did though. Everything was masterfully taken care of. From the moment it begins to the moment it ends you are sucked into the world and never let go. Heath Ledger did an unfortunately wonderful presentation of the Joker. It's a real shame he'll never get to step back into the purple jump suit.

This is the best Batman film out of all the other combined. Even if you are not a comic book movie fan, or even a Batman fan, go and see this. I think that this movie should be in the hunt for Oscars, especially for Heath Ledger, Christian Bale and Aaron Eckhart. The unfortunate thing is Mr. Ledger is no longer with us, to bask in the glory of his portrayl of The Joker. Action? Got it. drama? Got it. Romance? Got that too. Excellent movie, so I don't care if you are at work, or in labor, stop what you are doing right now and go see this film!!

At two and half hours you’d think his film would feel long but you’d be wrong. “The Dark Knight” is so packed with visual wizardry. The film is a true sequel in as much as it virtually picks up at the conclusion of “Batman Begins” but, partly because of Heath Ledger’s stunningly brilliant performance, the story becomes even darker. It takes a master villain to make this kind of film a success. Ledger moved Batman from comic book to fully fleshed out thriller! Brothers, Christopher and Jonathan Nolan, collaborated on the script that just might make this the powerplay of the year.As director, Christopher Nolan’s control at the helm of this big budget blockbuster is flawless. Ledger may have made this film his own but we can’t let that detract from the consistently outstanding performances delivered by the entire cast. Christian Bale returns as Bruce Wayne which is great. In my humble opinion Bale’s interpretation of the character has resulted in the best Batman yet. Michael Caine returns as the perfectly cast Alfred and Maggie Gyllenhaal is excellent in the role of Rachel. Aaron Eckhart turns out to be a surprise. I know he’s a very good actor but I wouldn’t have expected him to pull off the transformation required by this script. Eckhart nails it. Morgan Freeman is always splendid. He’s back as the technical wizard Lucius Fox and another of my favorite actors, Gary Oldman, again proves his capacity for perfection. There is subtlety in this story that reflects today’s reality more than I like to admit and as Batman is forced to lean more vigilante than hero the, “When good people do nothing” adage highly focused. I thought “Batman Begins” was a phenomenon. “The Dark Knight” kicks the franchise up to a whole new level.

This takes and builds on the wonderful Batman begins. For a movie this big to actually meet, and go a little bit beyond your expectations really takes a great movie. This movie is a bit more gritty, tricky, and keeps a running theme of moral choices, and delimas. Well paced action adds to the storys feel. Most of the action seemed like it had a purpose, it fit in with what I was expecting to happen, and helped the story along. We've seen Batman, Joker, and Two Face before, in other places and told in different ways. This telling of them is now my favorite.

I debated going through the trouble of getting a sitter to sleep at my house and buying our tickets ahead of time and getting in line hours in advance because I was worried my husband, who has had ants in his pants for several months now, would be disappointed. But the movie exceeded all expectations. It was absolutely amazing!

This is the best Batman ever made. I know that is a big statement, but this movie blew me away. All of the acting was suberb, particularly Aaron Eckhart and of course, Heath Ledger. Ledger makes the Joker both terrifying and comical, a truly impressive feat. Eckhart as Harvey Dent is a tremendous force of good... The twists and turns this movie takes are mostly unpredictable. Maggie Gyllenhall is definitely a better casting choice than the original Katie Holmes would have been. Caine and Freeman are essentially themselves, however brilliant. Bale is strong, intelligent, and assuredly sexy as Batman takes different directions. The movie does not lack at all for action, having some of the best sequences I have ever seen, humor, and drama--and coming from a woman, is a great date movie. Girls--get out there and see it this weekend!

It wasn't what I was expecting at all. It was, however, what I was hoping for. It exceeded my expectations and, for the first time, brought one of my favorite comic books to life right in front of me. Showed me a more realistic version of the caped crusader of Gotham. (Yes, I'm aware of my nerdiness).
Heath Ledger did an amazing job as The Joker. I can safely say that I was blown away by his performance. Very sad that he died. I was sad when he did die because of I liked him as an actor.
Wasn't thrilled with him doing Brokeback Mountain (Nope, haven't seen it...most likely won't), but he was good...and The Dark Knight was awesome.
Two Face was even more realistic and frightening as ever. Even though the Joker stole the show, I was still concerned about the other villian when he started showing his evil side.
I won't throw any spoilers out since its opening weekend, but if you haven't seen this in theatres within two weeks...for shame. For. Shame. But lets just say that Batman plays a darker role. Showing more of the darker side that is the Batman that I know from the comics. What he does to one specific Mobster/Mafia Leader....it made me cringe.
Iron Man and The Dark Knight are now my two favorite summer blockbusters. I also absolutely loved the way they ended it. In that I mean, that I loved how they cut to end credits. Just great....I love it when they do that.
I'll let you go see it for yourself and stop talking about it. But be ready when the Joker makes his appearance and shows you one....good.....magic trick.

The dark knight is easily the best batman film made period. However it does have some flaws that does set it back from being perfect. The Dark Knight goes by blisteringly fast and is incredibly intense, just like batman begins, however this time there is a TON more material that has to be gone through. Even thought the movie runs over 2 and a half hours it ran right over main plot elements and kept the viewing wondering why the story was unfolding the way it was, leaving a few plot holes. The other problem I found was it was very hard to distinguish a clear climax to the story. The dark knight is so intense in every scene it fails to build to any sort of clear climax or ending battle, which makes it exhausting to watch.
Now that I've gotten that out of the way, Everything else in the dark knight was incredible. Heath Ledger's performance was something out of this world, he really blew away my expectations and added many layers to the villain he plays. It will be near impossible for any actor to follow the role he set. Christian Bale was great, batman really seems to complement his acting well.
Despite it's flaws the story still kept me interested and the intensity had me on the edge of my seat throughout. It has action, romance, depth, and great acting.
In conclusion, The Dark Knight was a great Summer movie, and had a surprising amount of depth. A great pick!

Best Movie Ever. You could not even tell Heath Ledger was behind the makeup. Ledger immerses himself completely into the character and is backed by an amazingly intricate storyline.
