This movie is seriously one of my favorites now and much better than the first. I really liked the first movie except for Katie Holmes. The new Rachel is much better suited for the part.
Ledger did an amazing job I thought. His transformation character wise was close to Johnny Depp as Jack sparrow. I completely forgot it was Ledger playing the role, and this is the first movie I had seen him in where I didn't know it was him.
And the music is amazing! I had to go out and buy the soundtrack right after the movie its that good!
Definately see this movie! Its worth it! One of the few I want to see a few times over and over again.

This movie was two and a half hours of pure awesomeness! It surpassed batman begins within the first five minutes and climbed into my top two favorites of all time by the end of the movie (number one is fight club). Heath Ledger played a perfect Joker (he really deserved an award for this role), I couldn't believe that it was actually him. The next batman movie has a lot to live up to...

This was the most amazing movie i have ever seen. I was a Batman Begins lover and this movie is a million times better. The story is intriguing and the action is intense. The Joker played by Heath Ledger is, as far as i am concerned, the greatest single acted role i have ever seen. Sure he is extremely evil but boy is he good at it. The new characters all mesh well together for one thrilling two and a half hour ride that only gets better as you enter deeper into the jokers twisted mind.

Definitely a good movie to see. Heath Ledger was fantasitc as the Joker...edgy, wickedly evil and slimy enough to make your skin crawl. Christian Bale is wonderful as Batman, a man conflcted between fighting evil and wanting a normal life like everyone else. As always, seasoned actors Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman are terrific. The movie starts with a bang and the action continues right to the end.

If you're a Batman fan you'll love it. Even if you're just a Comic Book or Action fan you won't regret seeing this one. Ledger's performance as the Joker really does live up to the hype in my opinion but subsequently I wouldn't recommend it for the kids due to the same performance.

An amazing film... That magic trick... This was one of the most entertaining movies I've seen. The story bight not be as rich but the action, the adrenaline, the comedy, and an out-of-this-world performance by Heath Ledger make this Batman the best ever!

I went to see it midnight at the Cine Capri in Tempe AZ. A great theater and great fans.
Heath will get the Best Supporting Actor Oscar. The intensity when the Joker was on screen was energizing. You felt anything could happen and did.
I think Nolan deserves Best Director for being able to manage all these great characters and get everyone appropriate screen time. Yes we knew the Joker was going to be great but who else was worried that Two Face would be under developed. He was the heart of the film. The biggest surprise in this movie for me was how well they used the Dent/Two Face character and how well Eckhart did in bringing him to life.
I have always been more a Marvel fan but as far as comic book movies, DK has set bar for filmmaking this decade. This is coming from a guy who loved Iron Man and Hulk.
I think what makes this really special is Nolan and his creative team have taken the Batman and instead of adapting the comic to the have created this new universe and story specifically for film. Sure he does take some elements from the comic but they have created a new Batman mythos. Bravo!!

Christopher Nolan does it again (hooray!). I have seen it twice since July 17th and I am sure I will see it again. Dark and light all at the same time - a true commentary on the human condition, examining the evil while encouraging faith in the best of human kind. This is the Batman that I fell in love with as a chid/ teenager watching the New Adventures of Batman on the WB. This is Batman the way it should be. My only criticism is the character of Rachel as played by Maggie Gyllenhaal: her character was a true disappointment - weak up until the very last moment. I love Rachel in the original legend, love Rachel as played by Katie Holmes, but this time Rachel was weak, almost ditzy - a complete disappointment made more striking by the fantastic performances of the cast around her.
Anyway, Rachel aside, The Dark Knight fantastic, and I can hardly wait to watch (I hope) the many movies to follow. Oh, and plan on getting a cup of coffee afterwards with whomever you see it with - you will want to discuss.

This movie is quite amazing. In fact it's Epic!!! The Story is solid unlike Spiderman 3. However the end is a little draggy, its just winding down giving a closer to all the characters. The movie is long and has an eerie feel with heath ledger as the joker (which i must say cannot be compared to Jack Nicholsons joker, because the difference between the characters is like night and day). Acting is phenomenal and the direction is out of this world. Chris Nolan always brings a little something extra. This movie has it all! If you're not a fan of Batman, you really don't need to see this movie is more than just a couple guys in costumes running around. However this movie takes PG-13 to the extreme... I'd be caustion taking kids in there because a few Joker scenes are pretty disturbing! But definietly make a trip to see this movie!

I thought that Batman Begins was the best Batman movie to date. Liked the Burton movies, until I saw Batman Begins.
Then I saw Dark Knight.... Fantastic. Heath Ledger's performance was incredible. Christian Bale is stellar as Batman, and let's not forget good ole Two Face Aaron Eckhart.
Great movie for all to enjoy. And who knew Gotham looked so much like Chicago?

Dark Knight just makes any thing else thats come out this summer look like crap. Iron Man, Hulk and Hancock cant hold a torch to this brilliant film. Heth Ledger's performance is outstanding. It's as if he's not acting he's just simply the Joker. The fact that its 2 and a half hours is un noticable and even after such a stretch of time you will still want more...trust me. If you haven't all ready seen it GO! and if you have GO AGAIN! yes it really is that good.

This is everything and more than you would expect by seeing the previews for this movie. The roles of the characters are played exceptionally well. Like the previous film, Batman Begins, it is a little long (only 2 1/2 hours) and has massive character development. There are tiny clues that foreshadow the outcome of the film that a fan of the old cartoon (I haven't read the comics... yet, but may also pertain there as well) will pick up on, only adding entertainment. I would recommend see this film if they are fans of action films.

Easily the most anticipated movie of the year, "The Dark Knight" not only exceeds expectations but transends the genre of the superhero movie and plants itself firmly as a cinema classic. It has what has already become a legendary performance by Heath Ledger that is everything advertised but when ordinarily an acting turn like his overshadows the rest of the cast, this time he is very nearly equaled by Christian Bale's Batman, easily the most believable super hero to hit the silver screen. And the amazing Gary Oldman, deftly playing James Gordon, almost carries the movie in his scenes. And then you have Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, and Aaron Eckhart, all of whom turn their roles into powerful characters that hold their own even with the star turn Ledger gives us. The story itself clearly moves beyond a simple good guy vs bad guy conflict and makes us wonder about our own nature. How good are we, actually? And where the hell DID The Joker put that pencil?

I went into this movie feeling excited and giddy for the feature to start. By the time the movie had ended I felt changed. I was silent. The Dark Knight impressed me so much that I really had no words to say. It blew my expectations out of the water. An instant classic, not just for superhero movies but in overall film. Fantastic character development, explosive action sequences, and perfect dialogue make this film the masterpiece that it is.

I am a very strong critic of movies. I am usually disappointed with this genre of movie, but I was compelled to see it because of all the 'hype'. Within the first 10 minutes of this movie, I was already drawn in. Heath Ledger was disturbing (that is a compliment) and I felt uncomfortable during many parts of the movie (another compliment). I saw the movie early in the day, and I keep thinking about how great it was.
My only "fuss" about the movie was the accelerated transition of Harvey Dent into Two-Face.
I can't remember the last time I have enjoyed a movie this much. I would not recommend for young children, but this is a great adult action film with a dark look at human nature.

An extremely well developed movie in every aspect; characters, plot, action, suspense, believability, depth. This is by far the best superhero movie i have ever seen and is easily one of my favorite movies of all time. Heath Ledger as the joke was simply amazing and it is terrible he will not be able to return for the next one (among other things). The depth of the characters from Harvey Dent, Bruce, Joker, and everyone in between was outstanding. I'm very much looking forward to the third one and i am hoping they have a good plan for which villain to bring in next. I pray they don't try to swap an actor for the joker. The ONLY disappointing aspect of the film is when you leave the theater knowing you will never see such an utterly stunning performance by Heath Ledger again. I will probably see this movie twice more while it is in theaters. The casting director for these movies is a genius bringing in actors like Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Christian Bail, and now Aaron Eckhart and Heath with this movie. Excellent series everything was so well done. Finally i would like to say killing off Twoface in the end was a very bold move but i don't feel that it was a bad one. His makeup etc looked awesome, and i know they wanted to continue with the joker in the third one.... it's a shame. I think Penguin would make a good villain in the third one as far as plot goes... but he is a weak character and i know Nolan said he would never do the penguin. I'm rooting for bringing Twoface back or going with the Riddler. I give this movie 5 million thumbs up.

This movie by far is the best Batman Movie to date. It doesn't have to tell the entire Batman story since we have Batman begins, therefore the audience is expected to have some knowledge of the characters. Aaron Eckhart and Heath Ledger by far have Oscar winning performances for the portrayal of their villain characters. There are so many twists and shocking moments created by the Jokers non traditional style of havoc. The best part for me though was the honest visual of what true humanity is about and the will to survive. This movie moved me, and I was definitely not expecting that from a DC comics reel.

So good and entertaining. Heath ledgers portrayal of the psychotic and deranged joker could not have been done any better. While some of the dialog in the film was iffy the action and acting by the actors more then made up for it. Was an improvement upon an already excellent first film.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
