With all the hype surrounding the movie, the performances dont disappoint. However, may be the unusual 2hour 30min runtime does keep you waiting a tad too long.
Aaron Eckhart does have a future afterall... it might almost be a boon for him that 'two face' only shows half his face, and is a lot more animated than the 'DA was... will be easier for the otherwise expressionless Eckhart.
The classy English butler supporting a billionnaire tycoon theme is well carried forward by both Michael Caine and Christian Bale.. and i am truly curious how Lucius Fox (Freeman) will continue to be the wizard he has shown so far.
All in all a good stage set for a sequal. But one man that wont show up in future Batman movies has left his mark. Never before have I seen such an old character taken to such great levels in performances. While i am inclined to credit the director for his incredible vision given numerous past examples that could have so easily skewed this performance, one cannot take away the finnese displayed and attention to detail given to the 'Joker' by Ledger. Heath Ledger may not bask in the heaven with a posthumous Oscar, and if he does, i sure hope its not because of a sympathy vote. The man has surely given me a treat to watch, and a performance to remember.
I am also glad that the shows didnt attribute to much attention to him during the credits or later. A true tribute can only be a subconscious recognition of the class and acting skills displayed by the young gun, an indelible mark on the industry.

The Dark Knight in one word was Excellent. Heath Ledger stole the show he played joker the way joker should have been portrayed dark, psychotic, scary but true. He captured the character in a way no other actor before him has. Christian Bale has taken Batman to a new level as well. I loved the movie and highly recommend it and will see it again

Although a little too predictable (if you've ever read a comic book before) and a little too long and repetitive, the overcasting of the supporting cast allows this film to only fall short of the greats of the genre (think 'Sin City') by a small amount. Kudos especially to Maggie Gyllenhall, who is a huge improvement over Katie Holmes-Cruise.

A very good Batman movie. All the main actors were great. The Joker made me shiver, it was so real. Christian Bale is great. Will miss Heath Ledger of course. The movie was a little to long. Lots of action, Keeps you guessing.
Even if you are not a Comic Book fan this is a must see.

I have been waiting for this movie since it was being filmed. It was even better than I had anticipated - and I had very high expectations. I thought it had a incredible cast (Maggie played a better Rachel Dawes than Katie). Heath Ledger truly gave an unforgettable performance and Christian Bale was top-notch. I didn't think there was a dull moment and enjoyed it from beginning to end. I truly think everything in this movie was well-done and a whole different side of the Batman story. I would recommend it to anyone...except young kids! RIP Heath Ledger -

Most people have been interested in a whole lot of superheros. Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures have created a whole new era in Superhero-History. The dark knight stars academy adward winner Christian Bale and Gary Oldman from Harry Potter. The PG-13 Rating is for a very good reason of this movie. It has very intense scenes with the Joker and people imitating Batman as well. The "Menace" part of the movie starts at the begining and also reaches towards the end of the film. Children under the age of 10 will be very frightened. The music was perfect, but the action was the most that caught my eyes attention. The target for audiences was mostly teenagers and adults. If you have some loose change in your pocket, get a few tickets for some friends and you. I assure you, you will not want a refund for this movie, because if you miss this movie... it's done for! Go see it to experience the true moviegoing experience.

The Dark Knight was so well done. The story, the characters, and the performance was one of the best I have seen in a long time. Health Ledger tackled this role with such perfection that at times, its creepy. Christian Bale, again, was on point with playing Bruce Wayne, and Aaron Eckhart portrays Two-Face in a brilliant way. This movie was increadible, I have no idea how they are going to top it, or if they even could.

This is a gripping sequel from Batman Begins... A far better movie and much darker, definitely not for the kids. Heath Ledger is frightening as The Joker and deserves a post-humous nomination. Christian Bale is finally on the radar and should get his pick of movies in the future! The special effects are wonderful and I was impressed with the plot! I highly reccommend it!

I liked Batman Begins better than TDK, it was more in the spirit of comic book fantasy than this one. Heath Ledger was almost too good for this: his level of reality, of deep evil and of paranoid/schizophrenia was too real when compared with the comic book, two-dimensional portrayals of the other characters. Ledger was by far the best thing in the movie, but the gap he created by the others failing to reach his level of art was too glaring for me to give the movie much more than a 3-star rating. Also, too much computer-generated whiz-bang.

Besides the amazing action scenes and effects, this is the best acting I have seen by any one actor in awhile. Heath Ledger really lives up to the hype in this film and plays a delightfully creepy and almost-too-realistic version of the joker. I loved every minute of this 2 and a half hour flick.

Is it possible that this movie could be better than Batman Begins? Absolutely! The most disappointing part of the movie is that Heath Ledger is dead and won't be able to reprise as Joker. No one will be able to take his place. Just as Christian Bale is the greatest actor ever to don the batsuit. Fantastic movie/acting/dialogue/plot ...everything.

This installment of the Batman series returned the collection of movies to its roots as seen in the first two movies Batman and Batman Returns. With Bruce Wayne dealing with his internal conflict, who he really is and what he his calling is, and also with personal relationships and how they affect not only him but Batman as well.
Dark story lines, maniacal characters played with no fault by Heath Ledger and Aaron Eckhart round out this movie to be the best since the original Batman movie starring Michael Keaton.
Escaping from bright colors, comedy, and thin stretched story lines such as Batman Forever and Batman and Robin, make Dark Knight the best movie in the series to date for the real Batman fans.

This movie was so awsome...This is not usually my type of movie but my husband has loved Batman his whole life......The storyline was great, and it was not as conrtoonish as some of the previous Batman movies . Heath Ledger was the GREATEST JOKER EVER seen, it's just really sad that he is no longer with us his performance was captavating and so belivable. I would give this movie 10 stars if I was alowed!

This is movie was fantastic. Heath Ledger's performance is incredible; it's worth seeing this movie just to watch him. Originally the movie's length (2hrs 30min) made me worry, but I didn't think twice about it while watching the movie. It is fast-paced and never loses that momentum. I would see it again and again. You walk out of the theatre feeling contentedly dissatisfied with the ending of this movie, and that is exactly how you should feel.

I gotta say this has got to be one of the best sequels I've seen in a long time. The movie is great and as you can already tell from Batman Begins, it's a very different look as far as going deeper and darker. Heath Ledger also played and incredible Joker. Although his actions were funny at times you couldn't help notice how evil he actually was. It wouldn't be fair to compare his Joker to Jack Nicholson's Joker because they are both too different. Watch the movie!

It's kind of ironic how fitting the darkness of the Joker's character is to Heath Ledger's bizarre death. The movie is long, repetitive and violent but it actually was quite engaging and I ended up liking it. Not a kid's movie for sure. The make-up in the end for Dent's burned face is not at all realistic looking but the Joker's make-up is pretty amazing. It really was a pretty good movie although I only really went to it to see Heath Ledger for the last time.
