All true batman fans will be very pleased with the film. It has all the elements of real Batman action and drama, along with everything that should be expected from the villians (especially heath Ledger in one of his last roles, played beautifully to the HILT) and the challenges Batman has to face..... Go see it! You won't be disappointed.

This edition in the series followed the total storyline beutifully. Bale does an amazing job as Batman (although the gravelly voice takes some getting used to) but the show stealer is the late Heath Ledger. His talent is so amazing and his rendition of the Joker is sheer genius. Hollywood and the world lost a real star in Heath Ledger.
Think twice before taking the little ones, this is not a bubble gum Batman. Instead this movie is dark, gritty, action-packed and violent; but in a good way.

The movie starts out a little slow and that is fine, the background needed to be built before the heroics could be shown in all their glory. As the movie goes on however you notice one star shineing above all the rest in an epic protrayal of psychopathic comedian, The Joker. Heath Ledger shows not only the fans what the comic book was like but how it was meant to be protrayed on screen. Jack Nicholson watch out because you are about to be written off the record books for being the Joker. The new name to be rememberd as The Joker, Heath Ledger. The movie is so chock full of action you will question your motives on leaving your seat for even one second. Overall I give this movie an 8 out of 10.

The Dark Knight was an amazing film. Heath Ledger stole the show, which, as the joker, was his job, and he did it incredibly well. The film is witty, dark, deep, and the major performances are connected, Ledger's absolutely and to an extreme, which is incredibly entertaining and masterful. The Dark Knight is a must see (at least once). I will never forget the amazing talent and beautiful spirit, ability to go even to the depths of one of the darkest roles, of Heath Ledger. Thank you to the cast, crew, Nolan, producers; the film is truly an inspiration. And the Oscar goes to....!!!

This was an outstanding movie. The action was non-stop. Heath Ledger should definitely get an Oscar for his performance.
This was the longest line I have ever seen to see a movie. There wasn't an empty seat in the Theater . At the end there was a standing ovation.

Wow!! This truely lived up to all the hype that preceded its release. Ledger's performance is nothing short of shocking and stellar. He brings out the true madness that the Joker was meant to portray. This film probably will not receive the recognition it deserves by the award committees, but what else is new. Go see this film if you enjoy being entranced by the screen. Action packed and top notch performances all around

Excellent and sensible follow up to Batman Begins. Christian Bale performed flawlessly. heath Ledger is now the standard for The Joker. His performance will make your hair stand on end! Great special effects, great preservation of Frank Miller's vision, and an excellent screen play also help to make this movie a MUST SEE in the theatres!

Since 2005's Batman Begins, moviegoers and Batman fans alike have been waiting on its sequel thanks to a scene that hinted The Jokers appearance. A heavy viral marketing push and several trailers later, The Dark Knight premiered and packed more punch than your average super hero flick. Without a doubt this is the best Batman film ever. My first exposure to Batman was the 1989 Tim Burton film and I hold that one near and dear to my heart. However, there is no denying the intensity in this one starting with, the talk of the nation, Heath Ledger's portrayal of The Joker. Jack Nicholson's was good in a sense that it combined the kookiness and comedy of Ceasar Romero's Joker with the rough edge of the one in the comics. Heath brought a new edge to this one however. Pure madness. For the first time ever, I sat and watched a movie and 1) pretty much called an Oscar worthy performance and 2) thought I could be afraid of this character. At one point I thought to myself that Batman would never put this guy to rest. To make this all simple, Heath stole the show and, sorry to say because I absolutely love Jack's Joker, blew the '89s Joker out. As for the film itself, at some point you're forgetting that you're watching a super hero flick. They're all supposed to be CGI heavy, hinting characters for sequels, funny and a really fun movie experience for the fan boys to crazy over. The Dark Knight however contained some of this stuff but it felt so original and really cinematic. Clocking in at 152 minutes, the material in the film is really heavy and the darkness goes deeper than the hues of 1989's Batman. Some scenes I felt were R rated material only if they included the presence of blood. Me being a Batman fiend, but movie buff first, I really liked the script and depth of characters. Nolan succeeds where Raimi failed miserably, with Spider Man 3, by introducing a host of characters, twists and key plot elements without making the film confusing or feeling too crowded. The summer of 2008 saw the return of Indy, a new screen hero in Iron Man and the redemption of the Hulk, however its The Dark Knight that triumphs all and may just set a new standard for the summer super hero flick.

Heath Ledger's performance as The Joker in The Dark Knight was disturbing, creepy, unsettling, and strangely hilarious at times. Ledger positively shined.
However, apart from Ledger's performance, there isn't much to recommend The Dark Knight. The plot is muddled and the pacing uneven. One wonders if there was any editing done at all to this exceedingly long film. On the issue of editing, I almost believe there was a good hour and forty five minute or two hour film hiding inside the labored two and a half hours.
I went to see The Dark Knight with my spouse and four of our friends. Not one of us felt there was anything in the movie worth the price of the ticket except for Ledger.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

The Dark Knight was amazing, much better than the first and I've gotta say it all came down Heath's performance of the joker. When people said that this joker was the best, I believed it to be all hype, no disrespect to Heath Ledger as I know his career was admiriable. However, when I saw his performance in The Dark Knight, I could not help but feel sick (in a good way) at times, at the insanity and the ever mysterious background of the joker, as it came through and through again. My friend even said she was actually scared by the intensity of his performance, which I must admit, was a very real possibility. The movie itself beyond Heath, was Batman at it's best. The love/hate relationship with Bale's character (Bruce) vs. the alter ego (Batman) was a real soul wrencher at times while Cain's man (Alfred) was always there with a dose of wisdom and quick snips of humor to help lighten the heaviness of the overall movie. You want a super hero for the summer? Batman on a nice warm summer night is what I suggest, escape into those AC theaters and enjoy the ride.

Everyone knows that this movie had a lot of hype. Although tragic, the passing of Heath Ledger may have been the best bit of marketing that the movie could have ever gotten. It was foretold that this was going to be his break out role. It was foretold that Ledger may have played a better Joker than Jack Nicholson in 1989. I honestly thought it was all just hype and that it could never be true, but I was wrong. Ledger's performance was the best character portrayal that I've seen in a movie since Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow in the Pirates trilogy-- simply epic. An oscar winning performance, to be sure.
But...the Joker is only one character in the movie's (too long??) two and a half hour run. What about everything else..?
The rest of the movie didn't really hold me, thrill me, or even kill me. If you're into run of the mill comic book / action films, you'll enjoy this one.. Good guy who goes bad...hero becomes anti-hero....damsel in distress...explosions...corny one liners. It was exactly what one would expect from a comic book sequel. The thing is, we've seen it all already in the first film.
The only real problem with the movie is the run time. In the last half hour, i found myself checking the time, responding to text messages, and generally just wondering how much longer this could really go on. We got the message. Gotham needs Batman as both a savior and scape goat, and good guys can be pushed too far. JUST CATCH THE JOKER ALREADY!
With the end of the movie came a wave of relief that it was finally over and an overall feeling of, "Well, that was fun." I'd give The Dark Knight an 8/10 but would caution movie goers to be ready for the long haul.

One of the most incredible movies of the year. Heath Ledger, without a doubt, deserves a posthumous Academy Award for his role as the Joker. Bale played an spectacular Batman, both as the untouchable hero and the troubled character beneath. The movie plays on nearly every emotion, and has a twist around every corner that keeps you on the edge of your seat for the entire length of the film. Bottom line: see this movie.

I will be honest I am always hesitant on movies that get great reviews, more so with the "Summer Blockbuster" movies, but i was proven wrong.
This movie grabs you from the get go, almost like continuing the story from thelast movie (Batman Begins), Same great story, same great actors. This movie also holds up on its own. Even if you are not a fan of the Batman movies this can get you to be a fan.
I will not go too much into Heath Ledgers role as everyone seems to be discussing how great his performance was. Well I can say this when I first heard that he was going to play Jack Nicholson's great performance charactor, the Joker, I was hesitant to belive that anyone could do it. All I will say is I wrong and Mr. Ledger out did himself so much where you can not almost tell it is the same guy from Brokeback Mountain, 10 things I hate about you. His performance, and really everyones for that matter, is way above and beyond great.
A Must see, and I will see it again in the theater and I never do that.
I LOVE HARVEY DENT!

Action packed movie that had you begging for more. Heath truely portrayed the Joker with perfection(WOW!). Maggie Gyllenhaal I really wasn't impressed with, but the other charaters over shadowed her lack of acting ability. Aaron Eckhart played an excellent Harvey Dent, and the special effects were unbelieveable( you will see what I mean).
Overall the movie is pretty long so prepair yourself and not drink to much pop, because you don't want to miss a minute of it. And also there's no extra sceens at the end of the movie so you don't have too wait. I learned that the hard way when I left before the end credits of Ironman which was a great movie as well.

This movie was incredible! It was two and a half hours of awesome action, comedy, and insane talent by the actors/actresses. All of the cast members did an awesome job, especially Heath Ledger as the Joker. He fit the part perfectly. He was hilarious and entertaining throughout the entire movie. I don't think anyone could have done a better job. I think he deserves an award for this performance.I hate that he passed on, but I am glad he went out with a great performance for people to remember him by.

The noise, chaotic jump cuts, tech toys and punching & growling would never have made it without the stellar performance of a madman. Heath took the Joker to a whole 'nother level as compared to Jack Nicholson's version. The madness, the audacious calamities planned and the manipulation of the populace are surely a true reflection of what many sense are the characteristics of our current times in the world. Action, adventure, and the chance to look inward and examine our own morality. Wow! Who among us knows what we would do when facing a kill or be killed choice? Maybe now, just when we need it the most, we can start changing things by once again believing in the goodness of our neighbors.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
