I have been a Batman movie fan forever and I have seen them all.
When Heath Ledger passed away, I felt his performance would be overhyped because of the circumstances surrouding his untimely death.
After seeing the movie, the reviews are not overhyped at all. His role in the movie is one of the most memorable performances that I have seen in a long time.
I don't know what kind of competition he will be up against this movie year, but he certainly deserves consideration for an oscar.
The movie as a whole was terrific! A lot of fun, well made, great acting from great actors and it actually had a story.
A must for all of you BAT fans out there....

This movie had us glued to our seats for 2 hours and 30 minutes. Some people brought their kids (bad idea)- but the kids were transfixed too. There's lots of excellent acting, true evil! (lots of people died in this movie), great visuals, and a great simple plot (who are the heros??!)
I recommend this movie to one and all!
We will all miss Heath Ledger.

Heath Ledger gives and epic performance in this film. Christian Bale is a phenomenal batman. The best batman since Micheal Keaton. Action packed and full of fun. This movie is by far the best this summer.

The Dark Night was utterly incredible. Heath Ledger, rest his soul, was upstanding. One of the GREATEST roles of this century. I almost cried after the movie realizing the true joker of our time was forever gone. The Dark Knight definitely ranks top five with me, definitely will see it again, multiple times.

Dont expect Iron man, dont expect the hulk, this movie is more indepth with a character driven plot and intriguing dialogue. If you want a special effects extravaganza then you have the wrong idea for this movie, maybe not something you want to take your kids to. It is really good though trust us.

I am usually able to separate a summer blockbuster meant for a large-scale audience from a classic "Oscar-worthy" film. In this case, the movie is both. The script, the storyline, the cinematography and most notably Heath Ledger's performance are all so spectacular that I believe this is the best picture of the year. As the Joker, Ledger created a villian utterly devoid of any redeeming attributes. Every time he was on the screen I was tense with the expectation that something truly evil was about to happen. Yet for all its darkness, the movie also was able to tell the tale without the need for blood or foul language, which is probably how it managed a PG-13 rating. Young children should not see this move. In the end, although it was a very dark movie, good triumphed over evil, and humanity chose the high road. The Joker's undoing is learning that very few share his chaotic view. Like us, Batman is flawed, but in his quest to do the right thing, his humanity is affirmed.

"The Dark Knight" is a great movie. I thought all the main characters gave great performances. No time to get board here - full of action - but the running time was a little long. I would highly recommend this movie to action movie fans. It is a must see.

With some of the best performances I've seen in 2008, The Dark Knight had me captivated from beginning to end. It has just the right amount of humor, violence, action and drama to keep you entertained for all 150 minutes, and it never felt quite that long. I would recommend this to anyone old enough to appreciate all the nuances that make this one of the greatest films of the year. I wasn't disappointed and you won't be either.

A good, not a great movie, 1st 2/3rd of the film has excellent action separated by boring, weakly acted dialogue scenes, except for Heath Ledger's Joker, every line reading and gesture of which is original, exciting, totally fascinating. There has never been any performance like it. Last 3rd of the movie, however, is a thrilling adventure with sensational action never done better.

Coming from a Superman fan, this is the greatest superhero movie ever. This movie will definitely put DC Comics back on top. It was unbelievable. Christian Bale is the best Batman since Micheal Keaton, and Heath Ledger was amazing as the Joker. I couldn't believe how in some parts of the movie, I actually wondered if the Joker was a real person.. that's how into character he was. Micheal Caine plays an absolutely awesome Alfred, and Morgan Freeman is in a league of his own. Awesome Movie!

Good start, great middle, satisfactory ending.....all make up a fulfilling movie experience. The characters were fully fleshed-out -- the Joker told us enough psychological background information for us to understand his sick brain. Ledger is well-qualified for the Oscar talk...Batman and Rachel and Harvey seemed to have the proper "motivation" for their characters.
It was a stretch to understand how the joker could have actually physically placed all those bombs................but it was fun to anticipate the blow-ups and such.
Great chase scenes!!! Excellent and multiple special effects.
Worth the time and the popcorn. :)
