This is one of the best movies I have ever seen, I was glued to my seat for the entire movie and was thoroughly entertained through out. Heath Ledger deserves an Oscar, maybe two.

Loved it! Very dark. Heath Ledger was amazing-I had to keep reminding myself he was just playing a part. He didn't overdo it and Bale as usual kicked butt.

I was initially nervous about going to this movie because I had heard it was pretty scary and disturbing. While it is true that it is a 'Dark' movie, for sure, I didn't think it was scary. It was, however, full of thrills and surprises! It definately kept me on the edge of my seat. I will warn you, that this movie, IS NOT FOR CHILDREN! I saw a number of kids under 10 in the theater we were in, and I felt very uncomfortable for them. It was a lot of over-the-top violence, (not graphic, but violence just the same), and sinister material. Heath Ledger is a genius as The Joker, and the performace definately derserves an Oscar!
All of the actors did a terrific job and I think this movie certainly qualifies as one of, if not, The best action/Super hero movies of all time!

Expectations were high ; when i went to see this movie. I wasn't disappointed. from the start the movie was action plus. Kieth Ledger's Joker was dark and sinister. this Joker was more deadly than any previous portrayal. The addition of Harvey Dent gave the movie its momentum and direction. The only problem is the ending though good; I wouldn't killed off the villain. this was my only gripe. Bringing Batman down to a wanted vigilante was excellent. this will give future episodes a more darker feel. and more latitude in the character of the Batman.

The Dark Knight is the next step in the pre-evolution of the Batman series. The cinematography is decidedly dark but if you are looking for the heaviness of Sweeney Todd or even The Grudge, this is not that movie. The Dark Knight, rather, remains classically appealing to its original 1988 core audience. Opting away from gore and death, The Dark Knight delves into the psychological rot or lack there of, of the human race. We are redeemed by our belief of the value of all humans.
What really makes this movie worth seeing is the cast. Unlike the previous "new" Batman where some roles were blaring in their lack of depth, every role of the Dark Knight is acted with such personality and roundness, one could swim through the talent.
An extra star has to be added to the now deceased, Heath Ledger, who took his interpretation of the Joker many levels above his predecessor, J. Nicholson. No one should be surprised by his talent, given his performance in Brokeback Mountain. This time, though- to the level of comprehension a viewer may have- Ledger's performance is Oscar worthy without the moral hang-ups that influenced his hopes with Brokeback. The rest of the cast, Bale, Oldman, Caine and Freeman especially, delivered their usual flawless performance. And it wasn't at all surprising that the addition of Maggie Gyllenhaal to the line up only up'd the dramatic tension of the story. Her work in Secretary takes the surprise out of her star-worthy presence.
What didn't work as well was the odd editing/ writing around C. Murphy's reprising role as the now good vigilante, Scarecrow- this appeared to be a side story that got edited out. There were also more obvious situational issues in the writing and storyline, such as a six minute driving and shooting sequence where the driver is completely silent while his terrified (with reason) sidekick shouts about the trouble they are in. Still, with a stellar cast, well-developed and rounded characters and a story with a sound moral twist, you can't go wrong seeing it. Make sure to go to the bathroom first though. It clocks in at 2 hours 20 minutes, but there's likely another 20 minutes of previews to sit through.

Loved it!!! Hated to see it end. The acting was excellent. Keith Ledger was unbelieveable as the Joker. Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, and of course Christian Bale were outstanding in their roles. Hope Morgan Freeman will be back. Can't wait for the sequel!

This is by far one of the best action/comic book movies of all time. While the originals get points for maintaining the gothic style of the comic books, Dark Knight far surpasses them in substance. The psychological and moral dilemmas made this version much more appealing to a broader audience.

Definitely a good flick. Not great, but dang good. Absolutely solid performances by all involved, especially Ledger. It was hard to recognize him most of the time, and there were moments when it seemed like it was either Giamatti or Gibson under the makeup due to him being all over the place. He put Jack Nicholson to shame. In addition, it was truly the most masterful tweaking possible of every bit of violence without going to an 'R' rating. So much is is there, without the gore being shown.
Yeah... a couple of times the lines were so predictiable, as were a few of the twists. Yeah, it could have been half an hour shorter. However, that's just nit picking... overall, good stuff all around.

Nolan will not be revered by all Batman fans and loyalists (heck even non-Bat fans) as being the BEST comic-to-screen director in the history of comic-to-screen directors. This is also one of the best dramas I have ever seen on top of that.

I've talked to many of my friends who went to the midnight showing of this movie and when I ask them what they think, the answer I am given is - "This is one of the best movies ever and I don't know what spot it holds on my top movie list of all time!!!" That is how amazing this film is. It has everything a movie could want - action, comedy, horror, drama, love, despair, hope, and of course Christian Bale. ;-) Go see this movie - you will not be disappointed. However, fyi - this is not the movie for young children or the feignt of heart.

Non-stop action from the start. Heath Ledger's Joker was beyond outstanding. What a performance! It seemed the others were merely his supporting cast. If you're not blown away by this movie, you might as well stick to documentary films. A must see for all action film fans, not just Batman.

This movie was thrilling and did not disappoint. I went originally to see Heath Ledger's performance and found that all the actors where right on point. I am not a Batman fan, but this is not a corny film at all. Heath Ledger's Joker will surely win him Golden Globe and Oscar nods, if not the Awards. I know I will have difficulty seeing the sequel because anyone trying to fill his shoes will probably disappoint. What a loss for all of us that love movies and would like to have seen where his career would have taken him and entertained us.

I can't believe they totally disregarded the storyline from the book that started the Batman craze. Instead, they filled it with a glorification of disgusting violence...why didn't they call the movie "The Joker still doesn't pay"? We found ourselves covering our eyes or wanting to fast forward through all the garbage in the hopes the director had at least some of the book, but nothing appreciable. Shame on Frank Miller for selling out on what could have been redemption for all previous Batman movies.
We called our friends...especially those with children...and told them not to expose them to such sickening characters. For instance, the Joker executed people on video. Totally disgusting, we're trying to forget the movie. Shame on the censors, too, for giving it a PG-13 rating.

This movie was great. Everyone who is a Batman fan should go see it. If you are a Heath Ledger fan then go see him in his greatest role ever. He takes the Joker to places he never has been. He is smart and psychotic at the same time. Which is the real Joker?? You will never be able to figure it out. Go see this movie and come away with the feeling that you can't wait for the next sequel. I give this movies a 2 thumbs up!!!!!
