It's Batman.Batman by himself if awesome. But in this movie, the technology, the acting, everything was just amazing. Heath Ledger was excellent. It was like he was under a trance when he was playing that part. Christian Bale, kingly as always.

A little long, but it kept moving on to different plot after plot. It almost felt like a bunch of mini movies that dealt with mobsters, The Joker, Harvey Dent, the love story, the gadgets. A very well directed, realistic view of a superhero. This movie was excellent and I suggest you see it if you follow the DC Comic, want a long action adventure movie, or just like superheros and villains.

Where the earlier Batman movies were very cartoon-like, this one truly bordered on reality. A completely different feel but absolutely fabulous. Heath Ledger should receive a posthumus Oscar nomination for his performance - he was evil and quirky at the same time. My only knock is that the continuity on Heath's makeup was sorely lacking. Otherwise, I was enthralled, entertained, and left wanting more.

Dark Knight was fantastic from start to finish. Anyone who says it was too long didn't appreciate it enough. Heath was just as phenomenal as the joker as the reviews said he was. Don't miss it!!!

From the inception of the Batman comic, thru many cartoon incarnations, the TV series and 4 films, it's about time Hollywood got it right. Move over Michael Keaton, Christian Bale is Batman!
The performance rendered by Health Ledger is Oscar worthy, In his short life, he gave us performances worthy of a master thespian. His last is intense but shows the depth of his repertoire in sculpting the Joker. He will be sorely missed.

The Dark Knight is truly an astonishing interpretaion of Batman. Really this is an ensemble cast. Every person cast in this film gave a simply brillant performance. Aniticipation for Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker did not disapoint. This character's disregard for life and aboslute chaos was capurtured perfectly by Ledger. Every scene that he was in gave you the creeps. Aaron Eckhart's performance as Harvey Dent was just as brillant as Ledger's. This is a must see film..the plot is intriguing, smart, and intense. Although the run time is 2 hrs and 30 min I found myself wanting more at the end!

I was so excited to see this movie when I knew it was coming out (about 7 months ago.) But recently i saw how warner brothers has been overpublicizing it so i was kinda worried. but when i saw it- it was FANTASTIC!!! i wont say anything about the movie because people have to see it for themselves. This movie is well worth spending for.
all i have to say is if you have a small child who wants to see the movie...dont bring them until everyone (who's been really wanting to see it) there...because there was a 7 year old boy behind me that would NOT shut up- the staff had to escort the child and parent out.

Without a doubt, this is the ultimate Batman experience. This is everything you could ever want in a Batman movie and ALL of the actors went above and beyond what was expected. Heath Ledger really stole the show and is deserving of an award for his portrayal of the Joker. If you see any superhero summer movie, I honestly recommend seeing The Dark Knight. You will not be dissapointed.

One of the worst movies I've ever seen. The acting was good, especially on Ledgers part, but that's where the good ended. (the dude played a great psycho) It seems after he died they cut and pasted all the scenes they could find with him into the movie weather they fit or not. After 30 minutes of commercials and then 10 more minutes of previews, the 2 1/2 hours of gothams finest running in circles lying to each other almost put me to sleep. I go to these types of movies for the fast cars, great affects and cool gadgets. This movie had none of those things. The bat bike only has one gear (listen, it never changes). The Ferrari has gears, and a stick shift, but his hands never leave the wheel to shift, yet you hear it shift. And you hear him rev it as if the clutch is in. Both hands firmly on the wheel. And then when Dent is in the back of the SWAT truck that is flying down a street, hitting walls and other cars, he barely even gets jolted in the back sitting on a bench. Just poor attention to detail and way way way to long.

Definitely the best of all the Batman movies. It doesn't feel like the other comic book movies, though- it's intense as hell and stands alone. You can't even compare it to the Hulk or Iron Man, so don't even try.
Heath Ledger steals the show, by far. Even below the make-up, his face is aged well beyond his years, carrying the tortured soul of the Joker inside of him. This was far more than method acting- Ledger WAS the Joker.
Christian Bale's performance as Batman doesn't really jump off of the screen, but we're not really there to see Batman- we want the Joker. Bale's performance as Bruce Wayne is rather stoic and nothing special, but he makes it work well enough. Maggie Gyllenhall's performance is easily forgettable (as is her character's name, which escapes me as I am writing this)- she has very little chemistry with either of her love interests.
Aaron Eckhart stands out as the other memorable player in this film. Self-assured and cocky in one moment, grief-stricken and insane in the next.
The film itself was dark and thought-provoking, not your typical summer action film. The only complaint that I have isn't even that the movie was 2.5 hours. My only complaint is that I want more Joker, and in the next film, I am not going to get it. No one will be able to portray the Joker in such a real, terrifying way as Ledger did. No one will be able to step into that purple suit without fear of comparison and the inability to measure up. This was Ledger's swan song- the performance of his life. On some level he most have known it, and after seeing this film, sadly we all know it.

Explosive action meets dramatic performance. And though every performance is on queue, Heath Ledger is literally stunning. His raw depth is over the top. I found myself laughing uncomfortably, sympathetically and inappropriately while identifying with his maniacal Joker. Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman are simply superb! They complete the alignment of the stars and give balance and hope to torment and darkness.

Fantastic. Most authentic version of the original comic but with much more depth into Batman's character. Cinephotography is phenomenal, but real treat is Heath Ledger's portrayal of the Joker. The movie is worth his performance alone. One of the greatest roles I have ever seen. While the story is a little overwrought the production and performances are fantastic. Replacing Katie Holmes was a great move. Overall, this should not be missed and really should be seen several times to take in the action scenes goe by so quickly.

...but it could have used an edit to cut it by about half an hour. Bale and Caine are excellent as always but Heath Ledger is amazing and truly creepy as the Joker. Gyllenhaal is a vast improvement over lame Katie Holmes as Rachel Dawes.

All I can say is Wow! Heath Ledger's portrayal of the Joker was nothing short of amazing. Of course, Christian Bale did not dissapoint either. Although this movie was 2 hrs 40 minutes, never once did you feel the need to check your watch. It was full of surprising twists and turns, great action packed film and very smart, witty, writing. Awesome!! It was worth the 45 minute wait to get seats. My recommendation; buy tickets on line to make life easier.

I enjoyed the movie because it had a lot of action and a great story line. There were several plots to follow but I did not think it was too complicated. Heath Ledger was a wonderful Joker. I thought it was a good movie. My husband on the other hand thought it was an excellent movie and he wants to go see it again and again with his friends.

This movie was excellent. The acting, storyline was all phenonminal. Heath Ledger truely will be missed, for this is one of his best performances. The Joker is just like you would picture him if he were a real life person...Christian Bale definitely solidifies himself as, unreplaceable as batman with this one...A must see.

wife and I both have hearing defects. Movie was a loser because the theater sound system was set low. Dialogs were terrible, especially the Knight. Mumble jumble grackly........
Credits to the joker, great performance by a talented actor. He will be missed.
Filming was generally impressive.
But if you miss the words in a poor sound system, you might as well have stayed home.
I will get it again on DVD one day.
