I'm a Johnny Depp fan and he did a wonderful job but I'm still unsure about the movie.
It was one of those that, when it was over, I just sat there for a minute thinking, "Huh?"
There were definitely some really funny moments but there were also quite a few where you couldn't understand the dialogue. Not because it didn't make sense but, literally, because it was all muffled. I left with the feeling that those moment may have been important.
Bottome line, I don't feel ripped off because I saw it but it won't be one to add to our DVD collection.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Where the earlier Batman movies were very cartoon-like, this one truly bordered on reality. A completely different feel but absolutely fabulous. Heath Ledger should receive a posthumus Oscar nomination for his performance - he was evil and quirky at the same time. My only knock is that the continuity on Heath's makeup was sorely lacking. Otherwise, I was enthralled, entertained, and left wanting more.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
