...but it could have used an edit to cut it by about half an hour. Bale and Caine are excellent as always but Heath Ledger is amazing and truly creepy as the Joker. Gyllenhaal is a vast improvement over lame Katie Holmes as Rachel Dawes.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

A lot more fun than I expected!

I am a huge fan of the old TV show, and wasn't expecting a lot from this movie. I was very pleasantly surprised - it had lots of laughs and fun special fx. Steve Carell was excellent and spot on as Maxwell Smart. Anne Hathaway - normally cannot stand her - was even good as 99. Definitely a fun way to spend a couple of hours - looking forward to the sequel that was hinted at in the last minutes of the film
