Dark Knight Eclipsed the Sun
Bold, brilliant, intriguing, enthralling and unrelenting! The sun the moon and all the stars line up in Dark Knight and the sun has been eclipsed by the foreboding alignment. From the story to its direction, from the costumes to the make-up and music, there is never a dull moment. Gotham City has revealed the underbelly of humanity as never before. And it’s not pretty. It’s not a carnival. It’s not predictable. It is deep, thoughtful, provoking and illuminating.
Explosive action meets dramatic performance. And though every performance is on queue, Heath Ledger is literally stunning. His raw depth is over the top. I found myself laughing uncomfortably, sympathetically and inappropriately while identifying with his maniacal Joker. Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman are simply superb! They complete the alignment of the stars and give balance and hope to torment and darkness.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
