I think this was the best batman movie ever made. I really didn't care for batman movies, but my husband really wanted to see it so I went. And I am really glad I did. Heath Ledger's performance was magnificant. It's just too bad he isn't here to see how well his performance has been rated. If you haven't seen this movie yet please go see it. You won't be disappointed.

I went to this movie fully expecting to be let down. I really figured all the talk was just hype.
I was wrong. It is a great movie all the way around. All the acting is good, it was well written and Heath Ledger really does knock it out of the park. It would have put him on a whole new level......
It is dark, but even my kids enjoyed it.... they were only hiding at the sight of the burns on Harvey Dents face.
Stuff blows up...frequently, which is always good.
I highly recommend it.

This movie is even better than you are expecting and hoping! Heath Ledger's Joker is amazing! Just when you think the movie is slowing down and coming to an end, you will get an adrenaline rush that propels you to the end! I plan on seeing it again in IMAX.

This was the best comic book movie I have seen in a long time. The effects were great! Heath ledger played the best joker of all time, its a shame about him OD-ing, but break-back will do that to you i guess.

Well acted and well scripted, but unless you really get off on twisted material - this is not a flick for fun entertainment. It is on the serious and sober side, and stimulates serious reflections on issues of the "criminal mind," "social responsibility," and what constitutes "true heroism." I personally enjoyed the moral exercises and found a lot to appreciate in the movie's conclusion.

Of course there was a lot of action and cool technology, plus a stellar cast. The movie really got to me though at the end with its message about what it means to be a hero. The plot wrapped up beautifully and left em thinking for the whole rest of the day. Thumbs up!

From the first frame...this movie just takes off with continual action. Numerous twists and turns keep you on the edge of your seat. We were in a packed theatre, and the stranger to the left of me spent the whole 2.5 hours of the movie litterally pitched forward on the edge of her seat with her hands poised on each side of her face ready to cover her eyes (which she did throughout the film).
Heath Ledger's Joker was so powerful, it is haunting me 3 days later. The character portrayal was brilliant - with multiple physical ticks, such as licking his lips - that just stick in your head. The movie is like an amusement park thrill ride, it makes you feel qeasy, light headed, frightened and elated all at once.

This was a greatly balanced movie for older children and relatively "in" parents. We had a great time and highly recommend the movie to anyone that enjoys twists of fate, great acting, and amazing effects/make-up artists. We need a Batman in Atlanta, we'll even settle for a Dent (no more two faces needed at this time :)).

I was anticipating a lot when I went to see The Dark Knight and I was not dissappointed. I was never bored, my mind never wondered, and I was into the entire movie. There were a lot of twists and turns and overall the best Batman movie ever. Christian Bale was true to form and Heath Ledger was better than I expected. It is a shame that he cannot come back in a sequal. I will go back and see it again to see what I missed and enjoy it all over again.

The movie had great action and great characters. The story seemed to be coming to a conclusion and then it continued so it seemed a bit lengthy. One complaint and this is for theatres is that they have the volume so high it is almost painful. The theatres could turn down the volume.

I had mix feelings about this movie before going to see it. I thought theyre going to do an overkill like they usually do with big hit movies. WHAT!? I was blown away and I all I kept saying was AWESOME! The action was just mind blowing and each character was played out perfect. Heath Ledger did an AWESOME job as the Joker. Another kick azz Batman movie. The stand out of the movie is Ledger's performance as the Joker. It did rival that of Nicholson's performance in the original Batman with Keaton. This was a great movie experience and even my wife enjoyed it. I do have some cons about it and that is why I didn't give it 5 stars. The movie started to drag on and is about a half hour too long. There was no need to have Two Face in this picture at all. It was a waste of screen time. Other than that Go see Keith Ledger as the Joker - He is worth the $9 bucks alone! Christian Bale does Batman justice as well.

This was a great movie. The actors were wonderful and some of the twists and turns were a little shocking. Heath Ledger was incredible in this role and it is unfortunate that he is not around to reprise the role. Like most movies the ending is left hanging and there is always the possibility of a sequel. I personally, considering the death of one of the movies stars would have likes to see a finite ending.

After it's record smashing success at the box office, it goes without saying that The Dark Knight can be expected to be a spectacular movie sure to satisfy all viewers.
The whole cast has done a superb job while the action and suspense is to die for.
Though Christian Bale's Batman is masterful and Aaron Eckhart's Harvey Dent is haunting, this review, like almost all others, must turn to the character who stole the show: Heath Ledger as the Joker. Though Nicholson's Joker from Tim Burton's Batman movie was a fantastically played character, this Joker is quite a jump in personality. Ledger's last role has given audiences a villain who displays the ideal picture of madman with nothing to lose, quite possibly making him the one of the most dangerous criminals to date. But he does it while making you laugh. Ledger's Joker gives us a bad guy we can fear, cheer for, love, and hate, but never figure out completely. May Heath Ledger rest in peace, for he has proved himself to be one of the most versatile and incredible actors in cinematic history.
However, all this being said, I tire hearing about those who have avoided this movie because of it's so-called "excessive violence." Let me clear this up for anyone out there who is hesitating to see this movie. The Dark Knight's "creepy" moments are a little rattling at times, but by no means is there anything so extreme that it should stop you from watching.
In conclusion, please take the time to see this movie because it is sure to satisfy. The Dark Knight is a thrill for any moviegoer and is guaranteed to have you applauding at the end.

The performance by Heath Ledger as the Joker certainly stole the show, and everyone else paled by comparison. The good versus evil theme went far beyond the plot and should have every serious adult re-evaluating the morals of society.
Not surprisingly, the females attending either viewed the movie as just okay, or absolutely hated it, while the guys gave it a substantially higher rating. Some of the criticism revolved around the filming of action scenes and not really being able to distinguish what was really happening. The zoom should have been taken out just a bit to make things more recognizable by them.
A group of us saw the movie in a less than half full theater during its second weekend and I wondered how it achieved top box office sales on its first week and in the second week was sparsely attended. Apparently, it doesn't have the come back draw as the hype would have expected.
