After it's record smashing success at the box office, it goes without saying that The Dark Knight can be expected to be a spectacular movie sure to satisfy all viewers.
The whole cast has done a superb job while the action and suspense is to die for.
Though Christian Bale's Batman is masterful and Aaron Eckhart's Harvey Dent is haunting, this review, like almost all others, must turn to the character who stole the show: Heath Ledger as the Joker. Though Nicholson's Joker from Tim Burton's Batman movie was a fantastically played character, this Joker is quite a jump in personality. Ledger's last role has given audiences a villain who displays the ideal picture of madman with nothing to lose, quite possibly making him the one of the most dangerous criminals to date. But he does it while making you laugh. Ledger's Joker gives us a bad guy we can fear, cheer for, love, and hate, but never figure out completely. May Heath Ledger rest in peace, for he has proved himself to be one of the most versatile and incredible actors in cinematic history.

However, all this being said, I tire hearing about those who have avoided this movie because of it's so-called "excessive violence." Let me clear this up for anyone out there who is hesitating to see this movie. The Dark Knight's "creepy" moments are a little rattling at times, but by no means is there anything so extreme that it should stop you from watching.
In conclusion, please take the time to see this movie because it is sure to satisfy. The Dark Knight is a thrill for any moviegoer and is guaranteed to have you applauding at the end.
