The Dark Knight is more than I could have expected! Being a big Batman fan myself, and having seen Batman Begins tens of times, I was wondering how The Dark Knight was going to compare. However, there is no question that The Dark Knight wins against all other super hero movies! Christian Bale, once again, plays the role of Bruce and Batman to perfect. However, it was Ledger's performance that truly blew me away. The Joker.... is one of the greatest villains of all time. He is the exact opposite of everything that Batman stands for, and Ledger is superb. My friend and I were literally on the edge of our seats throughout the entire movie. The mark of a great actor is when you do not even notice that they are acting. Ledger's performance was perfect; dark, menacing and twisted. I was constantly wondering what the heck he was going to do next.
The Dark Knight is the perfect summer movie, without a doubt. I cannot wait to go see it again... and again.... and again!

Heath Ledger was amazing in this movie. Even if you don't like Batman you will love his acting. He was the embodied the character of the Joker perfectly, and I think it was his role that really made the movie so good.

This movie exceeded my expectations! I thought it would be good, but wasn't sure it would be for the entire 2 1/2 hours. It was and there was NEVER a dull moment! I can't wait to see it again!! Critics were saying it might be too scary for lil ones, but I think if they are 8 and up....no worries!!

The Dark Knight is a clever twenty-first century rendering of the Batman we have known. In the movie, cell phones turn into spy ware, Batman gets a new lair, and highly organized mobs pose a new threat to Gotham, led by a psycho sociopath with a devilish smile. Most profound about this movie was that it met the high demands of today's movie-goers by giving the audience a blend of action, romance, tragedy, and twist that makes the cunning observer ask, "Who or what is the Dark Knight?"

This has to be one of the best batman movies of all time. Aaron Eckhart really became a true actor and was lights out as Harvey Dent. Heath Ledger, wow, RIP. Away from all the hype his performance was nothing but perfection. It's really sad to see him go because I would love to see him play the Joker role again.... and again. The Dark Knight was a great movie and I would recommend it to anyone to go see.

The Dark Knight takes off pretty much where Batman Begins left us. Batman is viewed in a positive light by most of the upstanding citizens and officials in Gotham, although there are certainly a few citizens and of course criminals that feel his run has gone on for too long. The crime bosses feel something must be done so with a little forceful persuasion from the Joker, played wonderfully by Heath Ledger, the crime bosses enlist his services to get rid of the Batman. What ensues is a tale of tragedy and loss, hard decisions and impossible choices have to be made by many of the good characters in the film. Ledger fills his character the Joker with a dark and chilling demeanor, forcing people into situations where the lesser of two evils, if that term can even be applied, has to be chosen, situations where the only "winner" is the Joker, due to the twisted satisfaction he receives from causing havoc and misery all around him. The ensemble cast is back minus Katie Holmes, who was replaced by Maggie Gyllenhaal to play assistant DA Rachel Dawes. As always performances by Morgan Freeman as Lucious Fox, Gary Oldman as Lieutenant Gordan, and Michael Caine as Alfred are stellar. Christian Bale, who has come to be known as one of the most talented and versatile actors of his time, reprises his role as Batman and brings even more pain and emotion into Gotham's Dark Crusader this time around. An even darker and haunted Batman we see on the screen, torn by his decision to stop crime without lowering himself to a criminal level. The acting certainly matches the special effects throughout the film. Christopher Nolan did an excellent job of directing, and chose to use real effects more so than CGI, which adds much to the movie in terms of realism. Another surprise was Aaron Eckhart's performance as Harvey Dent, Gotham's White Knight, unafraid to take on crime, while doing so in a suit, not a cape and mask. The movie is a more than a worthy sequel and in my opinion one of the best comic book adaptations to date.

Our entire family enjoyed this movie. Heath Ledger was very convincing as the disturbed character he portrayed. It helped that the camera cut away at some violent parts, but the imagination finished the scene for you. Not sure I would take real young kids to see this one. My 12 year old son was trying to decide if he should sleep with the light on when he went to bed after seeing this. Sequels often disappoint - not this one!!!

Not as enthralling as a highly touted summer blockbuster should be, this movie was twenty minutes too long and suffered from plot redundancy as it tried to explore who the real villians actually are. It should have been edited down. Visually stunning without too much of the gratuitous CGI that plagues many movies of this genre, Dark Knight had great potential to be legendary piece of entertainment. Heath Ledger may well get a supporting actor nod for his exquisite tortured Joker.

The Dark Knight is one of the best movies of the summer! It has a darker, sinister, and menacing story-line in comparison to the earlier "Batman" movies released. Heath Ledger's portrayal of The Joker is superb! He's creepy, yet likable, in a twisted, macabre way that draws us in to the mayhem and havoc he is so adept at creating. This is, quite possibly, Ledger's most notable work.

I'm sure everyone has their own idea of exactly what batman is supposed to be, and what his world and other people in it are supposed to be like. This batman movie has my favorite rendition of the Joker. Heath Ledger is amazing as the Joker. Of course the actors in this movie all did a fantastic job, and I'm not just saying it to be polite.
The story was pretty long and involved, but I never felt like I was lost. Each event in the movie was crafted extremely well. The writers of this script should be applauded for making sure that none of the major characters was left behind, and instead of seeing the inexorable progress of the hero, we got to see a more "realisitic" unravelling of events that pays attention to the fact that everyone... even the villains... progress.
My only complaint is the use of technobabble explanation for one piece of the movie. It was fine for most of it, but without giving anything away, I believe they could have achieved the same or better results in given segment of the movie with better ideas instead of the techno-babble. It was the only thing that caught my attention as a mental speed bump for the story.
I recommend this movie to anyone who can enjoy a slightly darker film, a gritty batman, and portrayal of the Joker second to none.

I am not into comic book movies, Batman movies or anything of the kind. Went to see this with my girlfriend, and absolutely LOVED it. A lot of great action. When things aren't blowing up, there are interesting storylines to follow and the direction of this movie was outstanding as well. All the characters were played very nicely and seemed to come to life, making yourself unaware that you're watching a movie about superheroes and villains. I would recommend seeing this movie to anyone who is even remotely interested and for the ones who are not, give it a try, it just might change your feelings on these kinds of movies.
