The movie itself was great... very enjoyable... However, the sound level was way too high... it was too loud for those that I was with and even louder for myself as I wear a hearing aide... I almost decided to remove the hearing aide, but then I would have been lacking some hearing even though the sound was extremely loud.
Look forward to the next edition of Batman!

I heard a lot of hype prior to seeing The Dark Knight, and the movie lived up to its reviews. Heath Ledger is AMAZING. He plays a maniac without being hokey in the least. This movie was action-packed, but beware of taking the little ones. There is a lot of violence.

Christian Bale is to die for! Batman wasn't a good movie until he came on board. This movie is awesome. I hate that Heath Ledger is no longer with us, though. He was a very good actor and good looking too. This is a must see movie. Not suitable for small kids though.

I LOVED Dark Knight. It's probably one of the best movies I've seen. The acting is off the charts. It was was smart, funny, scary, and just all around VERY well done. Bravo!

We loved it! It was fast paced and exciting. Christian Bale and Heath Ledger did an excellent job. My boys ages 18, 14 and 10 were completely entertained.

This movie is way overrated. It starts out feeling like a sequel, which it is, but IMO the best sequels act as standalone movies. We get updates on all the characters which wastes the first 30 minutes. Then we get to see the Joker, which brings some much needed entertainment, but the role is overacted and grows tired quickly. He doesn't act much like a clown, just an awkward and distracted psycho with makeup and a James Dean affect in his voice. It seems that Heath Ledger is being praised disproportionally for the role due to his recent death. When we finally see Two Face, it felt like the movie was about to end with a cliffhanger. It should have. We have to endure another 45 minutes with a brand new psycho and ridiculous special effects. At least I got a laugh out of those. I do not recommend this movie unless you're a comic book nerd, but I'll give it two stars simply because, well, there are worse movies out there.

It's not often that a sequel surpasses the original. Batman, The Dark Knight blew us away! Heath Ledgers performance was amazing. Maggie Gyllenhal played a much better Rachel Dawes. Christian Bale was an amazing Batman and Morgan Freeman was as awe inspiring as always.

It was basically a very good movie, but aspects of it are annoying. Most annoying would be Christain Bale's voice as Batman. I understand the need to be "unknown" and masking it when acting as a Superhero, but one would think a multi-billionaire could come up with a voice changing box or something so he couldn't be detected. If he can create sonar of all of Gotham, he can make himself sound less fake, and after 2.5 hours of it you have had enough.

If you're looking for action, you've got it. If you're looking for romance...look elsewhere. The actress that plays the "hot" girl is anything but. That's the only thing that I would change. There are some good twists. Most importantly there are many, many parts that make me feel like, "that's how a good movie should go." Overall, I loved it.

I thought all the characters played a fabulous roll. I admit it was kind of creepy seeing Ledger at first knowing that he is no longer the great asset to Hollywood as he once was...RIP. It's a shame that he never really got to see all his fans response after seeing him as a creepy, sexy, scary and yet comical villin. I would definately tell my friends and family to go see this one at the theater. Also, I plan on seeing it again and buying the DVD when it appears on the shelves. Very good "Batman" movie...the best yet! Loved it!

This movie was much better than I anticipated it would be. I am more into lighter fare, but, must hand it to the folks who made this film. It was beyond well done. Mr. Bale was heart wrenchingly conflicted, Mr. Ledger was genius, in many cases the good do die too young. The supporting cast was exquisite, the action and settings were creativly fantasitc without going over the edge with graphic violence. Some of the script writing was trite, however, this was a comic book story, so that can be forgiven.
Too many trailers before the film, theater seats were uncomfortable. I will wait and watch this again from home. All in all, this is one for the ages, not for young kids, though.

Great action and performances. Heath Ledger was amazing... A quirky combination of Christopher Lloyd in Back To The Future, Kramer, and any character done by Jack Nicholson. What a loss to the movie industry. Definitely an Oscar performance. The other performances were very good and a great support to his insanity!

This is an amazingly crafted film. It's kinda hard to say that a comic book movie, made to be action packed and thrilling, is subtle as well, but it is. I'm no director, but there are pieces of this movie that are put together not to further the story but to pull you in tighter, to make the experience as real as possible. For example, there's a long chase scene that is not scored at all. Another director would have the action music going, but Nolan gives us only what we would hear if we were in the vehicle.
There is a lot of 360 camera work, at times where the characters are starting to spin themselves, adding to the frenzy of the emotions. And the script is amazing - not a wasted word, not a cliche to be had. Watch this and then watch the Spider-Man movies and you'll know what I mean.
Heath Ledger is unrecognizable and pitch perfect as the Joker. Forget Nicholson - his was a cub scout compared to the depravity and callousness of this Joker. Completely out of character for predictable Hollywood - the Joker hasn't a single redeeming quality; the most perfectly evil character I've seen in a long time, if ever.
Christian Bale is amazing - he plays 3 characters; the Bat, clueless Bruce, and the Bruce who struggles to keep himself from becoming who he is fighting. He captures the dual nature of the man and the hero incredibly well.
Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman are excellent in their roles. Maggie Gyllenhall, while lovely to look at, just can't pull off the serious attorney - her interrogation scene was not convincing. Aaron Eckhart was good and I liked how he grew from politician to something more as the insanity of the Joker's rampage increased. Gary Oldman is brilliant as Gordon, simply brilliant.
The movie is non-stop; there are no lulls, no dead space. It's paced brilliantly and never feels like they added to the film to keep it longer or to include more stuff; it feels as long as it should be and the story fits and is tightly woven. It felt like an early episode of 24, with the occasional twist and action from nowhere.
This movie to me deserves serious [why so serious?] consideration as the best picture of the year. It is by far the best Batman movie of them all, the best comic book adaptation easily, and one of the best pure action/suspense movies as well.

I was just looking to kill some time and scoff down some popcorn, and was pleasantly surprised. I had planned to leave after a short time and see something else if I didn't like it. Instead, I was lured into the dark drama adventure. Heath Ledger did do a great job with a great charecter in the Joker. I loved Bale's voice. There was enough tension and adventure to keep me into the plot.

I'll get the bad news out first. You've probably read it before -- about 20 minutes too long. It should have ended with the introduction of two-face. Lots of eye candy, but I tell you what, the strength of the movie rode with the Joker, and two-face, with Rachel's death, was a distraction. All other aspects of the movie were as most others have said -- amazingly good.

this movie was exceptional, and dark all at the same time. It is so much better in the IMAX than in a regular theater. I think that this is one of the best Batmans and best movie that I have seen since Ironman. Batman, great movie, great hero even if he has a dark side. I agree that it may not be for the whole family, but my family seemed to enjoy it, right down to my four year old. Yes it was kind of dark,violent,and a little strange, but no more than some of the stuff on television.( Including cartoons) Christian Bale great job once again. But my god you got to admit Heath Ledger as the JOKER, "AWSOME" . Will it happen, an actor wins a globe posthumously? I don't know but if he does'nt there is a missing link out there somewhere. Anyway Great Movie, Great Directing, and an all around great job by everyone involved.

Batman: The Dark Knight is one of the greatest films of all time. The sheer deepth of the plot and real lasting characters brought entertainment to a whole new level. Heath Ledger's oscar worthy performance will be known for the rest of cinema history. Christian Bale's performance of Batman is so top notch that it's easy to forget it's him under the suit, the same guy playing Bruce Wayne. The cinematography was fantastic (especially in IMAX) and the superb acting of Aaron Eckhart, Gary Oldman, Michael Caine, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and the rest of the supporting cast along with great, limited cgi, special effects made this a masterpiece. My only concern is how can anyone make something better than this.
