I have been waiting for this sequel. I loved Batman Begins and I SO WANTED to love this one, but unfortunately I was extremely disappointed. The only reason I gave it two stars was because I was really impressed with Heath Ledger's "Joker", but all in all I couldn't get behind any of the character's. I enjoy Christain Bale as an actor, but for me he wasn't in it enough as Bruce Wayne and when he was it was one liner's. The voice they had for him while we was Batman was so gruffy half the time I was wondering what he said. Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman were wonderful supporting actors and I liked Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent, but there was not enough emotion from him to make me believe he could become Harvey Two-Face. I didn't feel that he really love and cared about Rachel Dawes and don't get me started about her. Maggie G. (sorry don't want to screw up the spelling) was terrible and unbelievable. I am not a Katie Holmes fan, but I got more warmth and acting from her than Maggie.
There was WAY TOO MUCH mindless action and killing. I know the "Joker" is evil, but come on give me a story here. I honestly couldn't even feel anything for him. At some points I felt the movie dragged on and I was ready to leave a few times. This is not one that I would see again. Of course this is only my opinion.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Great Movie. Can't say enough. SInce it is obvious that this movie is great I just say see it. I am going to butythe DVD when it comes out. Sometimes the movie seem too long but I'm glad they did not cut stuff out. The concept is fine, it is a Joke but not presented in Joke manner. Too bad this Joker cannot return for the sequel.

Was never a huge fan of the Batman movies, because I read the comics. This movie has changed that trend, finally a Batman that's upset about the state of Gotham and is looking for change. This is an action packed movie with a good story....really I mean it! There was a show stopping performance by the Joker, the best character in the movie, well done. There is crime, shady cops, heros, villians, a love triangle, regret, remorse, hope, it has it all. See you at the theater!!!

Great acting, smart dialogue, suspenseful plot and interesting characters. Everything a great movie needs.

Very very good movie. While I didn't like the new girl as much as the old, the main attraction of the movie of course was the Joker. And what an incredible job Heath did in his performance. He certainly lived up to the hype that was created after his death and deserves at the very least an oscar nomination, though I would be very pleased to see him win an award.

By far the BEST Batman movie EVER! The story line wasn't the greatest, but the action was intense! Heath Ledger really outdid himself on this character. He will be sorely missed as I don't think anyone could make the Joker so dark and twisted ever again! A must see movie!

The movie was amazing. The performances were phenomenal. There is no lull in the plot, every second is gripping, there is no wasted time or dialogue. Every bit of this movie is absolutely astounding. The story will suck you in with real, beleivable characters that are flawed. By far the greatest Batman film to date. Heath Ledger definitely deserves an Oscar nomination for his performance alone, and the other actors stand up and hold their own great performances.

Heath Ledger dominates this movie. The 2 and a half hours fly by, filled with great acting and tons of details to pay attention to. By far the best action/superhero film I've seen in years.

I loved the first one, and this one is even better. Nolan tells the story the way Batman should be told. The characters are so believable, villain and hero alike.
Ledger's Joker is not only the best there has ever been, it's quite possibly one of the best villain characters of any movie I've ever seen.
Christian Bale is awesome once again, truly capturing what it is to be Bruce Wayne and Batman.
I can't accurately put into words everything that I think about this movie, suffice it to say it's possibly one of the best movies I've seen in quite some time. It was possibly a little too long, but there was never a dull moment so it was hard to notice.

Its hard for me to spend money going to the movies but in some cases we splurge. My 16 yo thought it was ok and my 18 yo and I liked it. But was it worth the money to see it? I could have waited for the dvd. It was good but it was'nt great.

I can't really believe I'm saying this... but I thought it was just kinda so-so. I love all comic-book movies but at one point I found myself watching a guy with a very deep voice running around in a black cape. Heath Ledger was great, very funny, but he is playing The Joker, I would expect anyone to be funny in the role... nothing spectacular here... it looked like an actor that needed to get some more sleep. 4 out of 5 stars is all I can give it. Hellboy II was a much better film!!!

Though probably too scary for young children, this movie is thrilling and funny. The exciting plot keeps you guessing and they couldn't have picked a better person to play the Joker. I highly recommend it to all who aren't afraid of clowns.

A Classic for sure!! This movie will always be remembered for the dynamic acting performance of Heath Ledger and his tragic death following the making of the movie. This is a movie you will want to see more than once simply because there is so much action, you are bound to miss parts the first time seeing it. For a 2-1/2 hour movie, it moves fast and there is enough element of surprise in the end to hold your interest. Highly recommend for any avid movie goer, do not wait for the DVD, see it in the theater.

Awesome Movie period. Must see! This movie from start to finish keeps you on the edge of your seat and on your toes to see what happens next. There are a couple of twists that are not typical for a comic book heroe movie, which is great.
Heath Ledger did an AMAZING job! What a loss. Very Sad. Christian Bale and Aaron Eckhart also great performances. Great plot. Go see it!

Heath Ledger was absolutly amazing! He played the joker so well, its a shame what happened to him he was a amazing actor. The joker was very creepy. But this movie wasnt just a action scene at had a very good story to it. It was very long but never dull. I hope there is a third one. And i also thinnk that replacing katie holms was a wonderful idea!

I never knew Mr. Ledger. I never saw any movie or magazine that I knew to be a photo of him or featuring him. I saw A Clockwork Orange and did not like it particularly but recognized that looking at the depravity of the main character was a scary statement of who we could be. That was appealing to me. So in Batman, Ledger gives us a treat as to how sick a mind could act. He was phenominal. The rest of the movie was much less although I appreciated the attempt to discuss the big issue of vigilanties in a society seeking to have the rule of law. Frankly, when Batman is discussing the role of law in society, the dialogue felt preachy. More interesting to me was that when society was tested, it responded ... (you will have to see it). We sat in the back row and I still had a headache. I wish the theatres would keep it down a bit. Finally, a thought for the movie theatres - sell set seats in advance on line and structure the charges based on the quality of the seats. You could even sell the option to upgrade to a different seat.

The movie was great. it was just as good as the first maybe a little better. the only problem i had was right at the end the base was so loud that I could not hear what Gordan was saying at the end which from the parts i could hear sounded like it was something worth hearing. other then that the movie was awsome

..and that reason is that this "Batman" is a complete 180 from it's earlier incarnations..with the exception for Batman Begins of course.
Though a darker movie, there are funny moments with the joker, and I must say it was sad watching Heath Ledger, he provided an excellent mix of insanity and humor, I can't imagine who would replace him.
M.G. was fine as Rachel, definitely better than Katie Holmes, but it's not a very demanding role and I wouldn't say it's worth an Oscar.
This movie is intense, exciting, and I've never been so excited to see a movie since I was a kid watching the original Star Wars trilogy some 20+ years ago.
Lets just hand over the Batman Directors baton to Nolan for good, because I don't know who can top Batman Begins & The Dark Knight.

The hype over this movie has been amazing, and I was expecting to be absolutely rocked. Yes, it was a good movie. Very exciting, fast-paced, etc. But I felt the storyline was much more predictable then I had expected. Gary Oldman is a phenomenal actor, and I felt he really excelled in his part. Heath Ledger was good, but you know his part was so one-dimensional that I can't understand why folks are making such a big deal about it. Maggie Gyllenhaal - well I don't know why she even gets parts, she is boring and not that striking.
Aside from all of that, it was good, and I would recommend people see it.
