It's called The "Dark" Knight for a reason..

..and that reason is that this "Batman" is a complete 180 from it's earlier incarnations..with the exception for Batman Begins of course.
Though a darker movie, there are funny moments with the joker, and I must say it was sad watching Heath Ledger, he provided an excellent mix of insanity and humor, I can't imagine who would replace him.
M.G. was fine as Rachel, definitely better than Katie Holmes, but it's not a very demanding role and I wouldn't say it's worth an Oscar.
This movie is intense, exciting, and I've never been so excited to see a movie since I was a kid watching the original Star Wars trilogy some 20+ years ago.
Lets just hand over the Batman Directors baton to Nolan for good, because I don't know who can top Batman Begins & The Dark Knight.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
