The Dark Knight was AMAZING!! I really enjoyed it. It didn't feel like a 2 1/2 hour movie, it went by so fast. Plenty of twists makes this film exciting! I absolutely loved it!

This is by far the best movie I have seen in a very long time. The special effects are amazing, the acting is awesome and it is non-stop action. I definately would recommend this to anyone who loves action movies. However, I wouldn't not recommend this for most kids under 9 or 10. It is very violent.

Best Batman movie

this is absolutely the best superhero movie ever made, and most certainly the greatest Batman movie ever. Christian Bale is in peak form as the "Dark Knight', more menacing, more fear inspiring than his first run as the Batman, Michael Caine is still greatness in his supporting role, as is Morgan Freeman. They really upgraded when they added Maggie Gyllenhaal she does abetter job than Katie Holmes, Aaron Eckhart is really good as Harvey Dent/Two-Face, Gary Oldman as always a wonderful actor, a great Jim Gordon, but the movie belonged to the very scary portrayal of the joker by Heath Ledger, this has to be one of the greatest screen villains i have ever seen, this was not your joke-a-minute character that Jack Nicholson portrayed no far from it, this joker was a psychotic, cold-blooded killer, yes he had jokes but and a few funny moments but he was all business when it came to his plans for Gotham City, a truly great portrayal of Batman's greatest nemesis, there has been oscar buzz for Heath Ledger's performance and it would be truly deserved. it would have been great to see ledger in the next installment but he left us a masterpiece of a villain. you cannot miss this movie, 5 stars plus.

There aren't enough great things to say about this movie!After reading some of the critics' reviews before seeing the movie,I definitely disagree with any of them that didn't give this movie five stars or a perfect '10'.It had everything.It lived up to all the hype.And there were great performances all around,topped off by the late Heath Ledger.I will definitely go back and see it again.

The level of violence in this movie should have been rated R. Not a movie for the kids. This was beyond dark and into the realm of sadistic. Lots of blood, gore, death and violence. Superhero flicks should be at least a little fun. This one was depressing.

From the beginning of the movie to the end, I sat in that darkened theatre with my mouth open wide. Here is the dark, intense Batman I've been waiting for. Here is the Joker in his maniacal and psychotic splendor that finally held me on the edge of my seat. Morals were being tested, action pushed to the brink, and I left a comic book based movie with questions. It's a movie that makes you think. It's a movie I didn't want to see end. At times, I didn't even feel like I was watching a movie.
They say that this movie has Oscar buzz all around it. Finally, a movie that I like that is getting these nominations! I was tempted when I got out of the theater to go back and buy another ticket to see it all over again and probably would have if I didn't need to be somewhere else. I'm an avid Batman (of the comics) fan and I was thrilled with duality of his personality. Christian Bale did an amazing job of telling us how much Bruce Wayne would love to pass the torch but his deep seated responsibility to clean the streets of Gotham because no one else will. You can see him slipping further and further away from Bruce Wayne and into the role of Batman which follows the comics so closely. You also see him struggle with his one rule...
Gary Oldman as Detective Gordon was brilliant as always. The one good cop in a city still corrupt and out for extra money for the pocket. And just how to explain the apparent relationship with a vigilante?
Maggie Gyllenhaal was amazing as Rachel Dawes. Sorry, Katie, but she took this character and made it totally her own and more.
Heath Ledger... What can I say? An amazing talent that was cut short. He's played so many different characters but this one performance was... I don't even have words. I was far beyond feeling just creeped out. You didn't see Heath Ledger on that screen. You saw a psychotic Joker that wants to prove just how messed up we can be.
I could go on forever... but, I think I will let you draw your own conclusions. Go see the movie.

If you haven't heard the phenomenal reviews yet, you are living under a rock. As you guessed, this movie is outstanding. This movie is not only for the action/adventure seeking, comic book-turned-movie fans, but all fans of film will enjoy. From start to finish this movie is action packed, thrill-seeking, and full of uninterrupted bliss. Yes some believe that this film is too "dark", but we are not only dealing with the "dark knight" here but Gotham City in itself is a "dark" place. I am by no means a comic book fan, never read them. I am a movie fanatic though, and while I know nothing about the Batman comic books, I know quite a bit about movies...and this is one of the best. Heath Ledger's performance as The Joker alone is worth the money to go see this film! It was sheer genius. Aaron Eckhart also did a fantastic job as Harvey Dent. And Christian Bale once again has proven he IS Batman. The movie was put together so well, Oscars all around in my opinion. The only complaint I have is that I would like to have seen more of "The Joker", his background and what not. To sum it all up...GO SEE THIS MOVIE! It will not disappoint.

There is no question that Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight sharply builds upon the director's first entrant into the renewed Batman series, Batman Begins. But whereas Batman Begins enlightened moviegoers on how the winged vigilante came to be, The Dark Knight unveils more about who Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) really is and his struggles to figure out where Batman fits into Gotham's societal landscape.
In The Dark Knight, we quickly learn that Batman has forced Gotham's criminals to do their business during the day rather than risk bumping into the bat at night. We also learn that Batman has achieved cult icon status, with copycat caped crusaders running amock in poorly constructed batsuits.
We also meet the Joker (Heath Ledger), who after robbing the Mob's banks, offers Batman's head on a platter in exchange for control of Gotham. For the Joker, it's not about the money, but all about the madness.
While the mob strikes its deal with the Joker, the batman is leveraging his own deal with Gotham's new district attorney, Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhardt), a white knight, so to speak, who Batman believes could enable him to return to his life as billionaire playboy Bruce Wayne and perhaps begin a life with unrequited love Rachel Dawes (an underrated Maggie Gyllenhaal).
The Joker, however, has no intention of letting Batman give up his badge as Gotham's after-dark sheriff. Joker sees Batman as the mongoose to his snake and, more importantly, someone not unlike himself--an outcast, a pariah, and a freak.
The Dark Knight is a wonderfully woven, heart-pounding, action-laced rollercoaster. Ledger deserves every drop of the Oscar buzz he's been garnering since his tragic death earlier this year. It's impossible to take your eyes off Ledger's Joker, with his greasy hair, caked-on makeup, custom-tailored-but-blood-stained suit, and insatiable thirst for mayhem. Joker is completely insane and far beyond dangerous. I was genuinely uncomfortable watching Ledger slink around. What was more uncomfortable was my realization that the killing machine Joker was also somewhat charming. Not sure if that says more about me or Ledger's performance. I say it's more evidence of Ledger's greatness. I mean, Ledger was very good in Brokeback Mountain but let's not forget that less that 10 years ago he was just another pretty Australian import playing disposable roles in The Patriot, 10 Things I Hate About You and A Knight's Tale. It's both a shame and a gift that Ledger made The Leap in such close proximity to his passing
While there's no real blood in The Dark Knight, I have to seriously question its PG-13 rating. The subject matter is extremely dark and the action is pulse-stopping. Parents be forewarned.
The back-and-forth between Joker and Batman is what makes the movie so brilliant, especially as the lines between Good Guy and Bad Guy become more and more blurry.
Aaron Eckhardt deserves high praise for his work as Harvey Dent, especially as we watch Gotham's supposed savior fall from grace. Eckhardt's stunning personality transformation will no doubt get lost as Ledger's performance is deservedly lauded but Eckhardt proves he can not only command a screen with his charm and looks but his acting chops as well.
The Dark Knight runs a little long at two and a half hours but there's really no grounds for claiming it needed better editing. In fact, it could have run another hour and I doubt anyone would have noticed. The acting, action and storylines are all that captivating.
Not only is The Dark Knight the best comic book movie ever made, it's probably my favorite action/adventure movie since Terminator 2: Judgment Day. Enjoy.

Excellent storytelling with a powerful message. Maybe somewhat violent, however, scenes are not bloody and thus tolerable. Excellent stunts and special effects. A must see. In fact, I can see this one again and again.

The Dark Knight Shines

This is probably the best Batman Movie I have seen to date. Heath Ledger’s performance as the Joker was both chilling and enticing at the same time. No happy Hollywood endings in this one as everyone must loose or sacrifice something so that the true legend of the Dark Knight can come into its own. Plus the gadgets are way cool!

This movie was terrific, Heath played his part perfectly. The insanity that Heath portrayed and brought to the character was just spot on. The violence and some of the special effects are a bit much for smaller kids and the length is too long for them, so LEAVE them HOME. I would recommend this for anyone who likes Batman, and for the future DVD/Blue Ray collection.

While The Joker steals the scenes, the heart of this film is true to the legacy of Batman -- Harvey Dent is Everyman facing overwhelming peer pressure to succumb to evil... And the magic of Heath Ledger's performance is that he makes you actually listen to what the Joker has to say. The editing left something to be desired, but the acting troupe was superb.
Rest in peace, Heath Ledger....

This movie was excellent. The movie definitely lived up to the hype surrounding it. The special effects were brilliant, and the IMAX scenes were wonderful. Brilliant acting by all. Maggie Gyllenhaal was a great choice for Rachel; I don't think Katie Holmes would have done as good a job, so it was for the best that she didn't reprise her role. All the buzz about a posthumous Oscar for Heath Ledger should be taken seriously. I thought his performance in "Brokeback Mountain" should have won an Oscar, but this performance was so much better. Best movie I have ever seen.
