this movie was really really bad, it had no coherent storyline, acting was horrible, directing was horrible, was it really necessary to have Rob zombie's wife in the movie at all, she added nothing, the actress who played Michael's sister was totally overacting so bad that i found myself wanting to see her get killed as a matter of fact none of the actors were even decent. was it necessary to make this movie a "red-neck horror movie". it totally sullied the classic Halloween name.
this is absolutely the best superhero movie ever made, and most certainly the greatest Batman movie ever. Christian Bale is in peak form as the "Dark Knight', more menacing, more fear inspiring than his first run as the Batman, Michael Caine is still greatness in his supporting role, as is Morgan Freeman. They really upgraded when they added Maggie Gyllenhaal she does abetter job than Katie Holmes, Aaron Eckhart is really good as Harvey Dent/Two-Face, Gary Oldman as always a wonderful actor, a great Jim Gordon, but the movie belonged to the very scary portrayal of the joker by Heath Ledger, this has to be one of the greatest screen villains i have ever seen, this was not your joke-a-minute character that Jack Nicholson portrayed no far from it, this joker was a psychotic, cold-blooded killer, yes he had jokes but and a few funny moments but he was all business when it came to his plans for Gotham City, a truly great portrayal of Batman's greatest nemesis, there has been oscar buzz for Heath Ledger's performance and it would be truly deserved. it would have been great to see ledger in the next installment but he left us a masterpiece of a villain. you cannot miss this movie, 5 stars plus.
i was expecting so much more from this film, while it's not as bad as "the village", it also isn't as good as "signs", and nowhere near as good as the masterpiece "the sixth sense". the acting was mediocre, i thought the script lacked more suspense, there was a lot of overacting, especially Betty Buckley, overacting overload at it's worst. although i would recommend it i do so with a warning, do not expect anything great, just take it for what it is, an average Shyamalan film.
