Absolutely the best of the entire Batman franchise. Christian Bale and cast pulled off a brilliantly executed and flawless performance. A bit violent but overall, a masterpiece! Would definitely recommend to all, even chicks like me who would have seen Mama Mia! instead had this not had opened the same weekend!

i went into this movie with extreme expectations. i had wanted to see this movie for over 2 years when i first heard about it. when i got into the theater to see this movie, i was shaking. the story is excellent, the script is smart, and the acting is amazing(heath ledger is the star of this film) i cant say enough about his performance. it was a terrifying piece of work. he should get the Oscar. this movie should be nominated for best picture. i will say the first 10 min of the movie starts off weired, but once they explain what happens, it is fine. best movie of the past 3 years.

At a long 2 hours and thirty minutes this movie seems to be an intimidating watch and likely to get boring. But with its action and terrific acting the viewers will definitely find themselves thoroughly entertained from start to finish. A sure 5 stars for this epic summer follow up to Batman Begins. The entire cast delivers a tour du force performance and academy awards are sure to follow; especially for the late Heath Ledger (may he rest in peace). I only found one criticism to this fantastic film and that is that it had little down time to recover from the epic action scenes. While this will most likely not bother most viewers, but those who are not fans of action movies may not like it as much. I recommend the movie to all people as it seems to be a head above every other release in 2008. Oh, and one more thing, some more sensitive or younger viewers (under 13) may find some things disturbing or gross as it puts the Dark in The Dark Knight.

This was the best Batman yet. The only think I missed was a good hand-to-hand combat scene between Batman and anybody. The Joker (Heath Ledger) was sick, sick, sick. They killed more people in this movie than any other "comic book" movie yet. It was a thrill a minute.

I was worried about this movie not living up to the hype. The whole Heath Ledger publicity was worriesome given that nothing ever lives up to one's expectations. But his performance, together with Christopher Nolan's story telling, and the great acting performances left me astonished. This movie took me into a very dark place, which is what a good story will do. Heath's performance is better than the hype. MASTERPIECE!

Very well written and acted out superbly by the cast. Heath Ledger deserves that oscar for the performance he gave in this movie. I actually heard a kid crying in the audience when his face was shown up close as the Joker. Christopher Nolan has given a masterpiece that surpasses the original, a hard feat to accomplish in these days.

I thought this movie was wonderful. It was very suspenseful I even jumped a few times. It didn't even feel like 2.5 hours went by and I can’t wait for another. Christian Bale for me is the perfect fit as batman and an even better Bruce Wayne. He has it all looks attitude and confidence. Heath Ledger depiction of the Joker was dead on, creepy, twisted and crazy, reminds us why the Joker is Batman’s number one villain. This was an action packed movie that followed the Batman story line. I am recommending this to everyone.

Ok.....I'll admit it, I went thinking I'd hate it, but my 13 year old son wants to see it. Didn't really get excited about the other Batman movies, so why would this one be different? I was so very wrong! It was amazing! Not only did it have spectacular effects like you would expect, but the story was really good as well. Heath Ledger was incredible!

This movie was good, don't get me wrong however, no need to rush to see it as the rest of the world does. It was not fantastic, Heath Ledger was the best part, and I think that is part of the craze for this movie, because it was his last performance. He was a great actor, completely believable as the Joker the villain. Too bad he had passed away because I am sure they would of kept him coming back. This movie reminded me of Seven (Brad Pitt) because The Joker had so many plans that he knew how everyone would react, and they did as he said, and everyone was pisssed. Do yourself a favor, see this during the day, or when the hype dies down, you'll be fine not seeing like everyone else later, if needed to see it immediately at least go to IMAX.

There was a lot of hype leading up to this release, especially concerning the untimely death of Heath Ledger, and I was expecting a lot, but I was blown away. It was so much better than I could have hoped. Chris Nolan has taken the franchise and breathed a whole new life into. It is dark, creepy and maybe even a little disturbing but it all comes together so greatly with amazing performances by all the major cast. Heath really was incredible and channeled a sort of Clockwork Orange level of disturbing brilliance. Bale is as good as ever and Aaron Eckhart was a great surprise. I'd definitely recommend this movie to anyone who liked Begins and even those who didn't because this story line is even better this time round.

This is a great movie, a little violent, not something you should take the kids to see.
All the actors were excellent. Christian Bale kept up the tradition of a sexy BatMan. Heath Ledgers Joker was sick and twisted as I suspected he was intended to be.

Without a doubt a great movie on first impressions and afterwards in thinking further it only grows.
All the performances are very good and without the Joker character it would have still been a top movie but he really sets it alight. Ledger owns the movie and injects it with so much extra insane malice which justifies the existence and actions of the Dark Knight. For Ledger it is a powerful stellar performance from a very talented actor who excels when he is truly stretched and forced out of his comfort zone.

Batman Begins got me interested in the Batman movies,and The Dark Knight will keep me interested.This movie was literally very dark...all I can say about Heath Ledger's Joker is --Phenomenal.!..what a shame he won't enjoy the raves or be able to continue making great movies.Chistian Bale is a brooding,conflicted Batman.Everyone else in the film is excellent also,without an exception.I do feel it is overly long,but that's my only complaint.

The Dark Knight is very emotionally intense and very dramatic. At the end, you feel almost sorry for Bruce Wayne and Batman. His whole life is immersed with tragedy. All of the actors did their parts very well. Lots of action. Excellent movie.

This 2.5 hour movie was definitely worth it. From beginning to end it captivated the entire audience. I loved the creativity with all the action from gadgets to special effects to stuntwork. Most impressive was the superb acting. Truly impressive.
