I have to say I am glad that I did not wait for the theaters to calm down once this movie was relised. The main reason for this... I dont see it calming down much. The producers and actors did an excellent job on this movie both in drama and suspense it is a movie I strongly recomend viewing in the theater not out for you first experience. The Joker wasn't really what I expected based on the old school batman movies but it lead its own potential and I was not disapointed at all.

This was a movie that was worth watching. The butler and Morgan Freeman were able to bring bits of humor in an otherwise dark movie. The title aptly describes the movie. Overall it was a good movie all of the actors did an excellent job portraying their respective characters. Heath Ledger truly did excel in his role as the Joker, it wasn't just all hype like I thought it would be. Parts of the movie were disturbing though, (I had to cover my eyes for some parts, I'm get grossed out easily!) I would not recommend taking children under 14 or 15 to see this movie as parts of it are disturbing. I personally liked Batman Begins better, but I would recommend this movie also.

Instead of simply a superhero movie, where the hero saves the city THE END, Dark Knight is a look at the character of not only Batman and the Joker, but of people. It was a dramatic and awe-inspiring look into the dark side of human nature and a haunting exploration of how far a man can be pushed before his hope is lost. Not to mention that the effects were amazing because of the noted lack of CG and the performances of all the actors, not just Ledger though he was impeccable, were gritty and true. Don't miss this one, even if you didn't see Batman Begins.

I’m not as familiar with the The Batman franchise as many people who saw the film. Nor was I expecting much more that this year’s hit hot blockbuster with explosions and an antihero battling a villain, both with messed up pasts who took different routes in dealing with their neurosis.
Instead, the film turned out to be a very dark, barebones, philosophical thrill ride. That doesn’t happen often in philosophy. Some of that philosophical probing was on the surface; how does chaos differ from random choice, how do these affect a set system of justice, can a corrupt system work better, with it’s ability to adapt to a specific use, than a rigid model of justice based on an ultimate ideal? The concept of Irresistible object meeting an unstoppable force was in a line.
Some of those mind games were played out nicely in models. Would you kill one man if it saved many innocent lives (this one was played out quite a few times in some new ways)? Would you kill someone else you don’t see and won’t know to save your own life?
In the end, it is not that the film raised these issues and dealt with their complex real-world (so to speak) implications, but that it did so in a seamless and very dark way.
The acting was mostly very convincing. The staging was artistic and startling. In essence, this was not the forget-the-plot-five-steps-from-the-theater-shoot-em-up-bang-bang-justice-is-good kind of movie I expected. It was a film, with car chases and explosions.

I thought it was very good. I wouldn't recommend bringing a child under 15 though. I think it pushes the pg-13 rating to the limit. You don't have to like the comic series to enjoy this movie. And alive or dead Heath Ledger does deserve some sort of an award for his efforts in this movie.

I do not typically go for super-hero movie types but this film does not disappoint. Heath Ledger was amazing as the Joker. He had a twisted yet funny sense of humor. His pencil trick joke made you laugh but also makes your skin crawl. Amazing, I havn't been this entertained in a long time!!!

This movie was awesome. It really showed how talented Health Ledger was with his ability to get into this type of character. The other batman movies were to cheery to really see the darkness that surrounds batman's everyday life. The two new movies do a fantastic job at showing the struggles that batman has with the right justice and the wrong justice. AMAZING!

I found the first hour and a half to be a lot of fun. The Joker made the movie entertaining. I'm pleased they portrayed the joker into the psychotic killer that he really is in the comics. Heath Ledger did a great job showing the evil side of the joker. Christian Bale is a good batman even though he goes too far with his Batman voice at times. The woman who played Rachel Dawes is a good actress but she's just not good looking enough to play a batman girl. Batman girls are sexy, not cute like katie holmes or this last one. The guy who did harvey dent was overacting a bit, but that could've just been the script he was given. The Harvey Dent story went a little too far. At the end it felt like the movie was drawn out, cheesy, and melodramatic. It felt like I was watching a soap opera. To the directors/writers I ask, Why so serious? Besides the harvey dent and rachel dawes part of the movie, the plot of joker and batman is superb. All the action scenes were exciting and fast paced. The camera movement wasn't as chaotic/frantic as it was in "Batman Begins" so this time you could actually see batman do his choreography which was good. Overall the movies is between good and great, but it does not deserve a 5/5. It is though, the best movie i've seen this summer, but that's not saying much. Go see it though, chances are you'll like it more than I will.
