Anything JJ Abrams touches = gold

What made the original Star Trek movies so great was the chemistry in the cast. JJ Abrams did two things exceptionally well that made this movie pay homage to the Star Trek franchise: they worked Leonard Nimoy into the story and they cast an actor that can pardoy William Shatner. Abrams did not include the old spock in an unbelievable contrived fashion. Abrams allowed himself the changes and alterations he made in the star trek universe through spock's character, leaving no gaps, or by annoying loop holes. quinto does a great young spock, mannerisms and all, developing his character.
It's obvious Pine watched the orignal series to understand Kirk's character in full. He parodies Shatner's Kirk so well it's like watching a younger Shatner.

Serious Acting with a Funny Twist

I do not typically go for super-hero movie types but this film does not disappoint. Heath Ledger was amazing as the Joker. He had a twisted yet funny sense of humor. His pencil trick joke made you laugh but also makes your skin crawl. Amazing, I havn't been this entertained in a long time!!!
