Instead of simply a superhero movie, where the hero saves the city THE END, Dark Knight is a look at the character of not only Batman and the Joker, but of people. It was a dramatic and awe-inspiring look into the dark side of human nature and a haunting exploration of how far a man can be pushed before his hope is lost. Not to mention that the effects were amazing because of the noted lack of CG and the performances of all the actors, not just Ledger though he was impeccable, were gritty and true. Don't miss this one, even if you didn't see Batman Begins.
This movie was funny, and started out that way. It had every cliche in the books, and I was very disappointed in it. Definately one of those where the previews get your hopes up.
Rent this one if you have to see it and try not to giggle when the cat gets grabbed in the beginning.
I had high hopes and wasn't disappointed in the slightest. It's rare in American cinema to find a scary movie that isn't useless plotwise, and in stepping out of the usual myriad of plots you WILL NOT regret it.
The plot is dynamic and the twist is unexpected and bleak. This was an amazing movie for those wanting a deep message and a jump or two of surprise.
