I Thought this was SUPER DUPE GREAT!! I mean it blew my mind. I am not just an action movie fan I am a True Comic Book Fan. At first I doubted RD.Jr when Iheard he was playing but then I remembered that TS is A womanizing drunk Playboy(No poke @ RDjr) and he PULLED IT OFF Looking forward to IM2.....WHOA!!!!!!

I liked this better than any of the comic movies, so far. Don't forget to sit through all the credits for the Avengers tease.
I went with 10 people, and only 3 already knew anything about Iron Man. Everyone liked it.
As every review has said, Robert Downey barely has to act as Tony Stark is basically Robert Downey anyway. There was one guy with us who hates RD and he still loved the movie. I have seen it twice, and will probably see it again. Great smart movie.

This was movie was the best! Robert Downey Jr. is perfect as Ironman. I loved every minute of it, the explosions and the dialogue. I've seen it twice already.

This was a truely a great movie. Characters,effects and story line were a perfect synergy. Robert Downey is Tony Stark. Remember that feeling after the first time you saw Star Wars well repeat that times 10. Action, adventure, comic relief with a little bit of romance..... what more can you ask for. Can't wait until the sequel!!!! ENJOY IT!!!!!

Not as good as I had hoped. No comparison to Spiderman. Disappointment. Downey, Bridges and Paltrow were all good in it and the special effects were good, but there were not enough action scenes. Not as good as I expected.

I went to see this movie with my boyfriend and his friends. I have always enjoyed the Marvel movies so far, the action sequences and the plot lines. Going into Iron Man, I have to admit that I had no idea what I was getting myself into. The two hours flew by, and I enjoyed every minute of it. This movie was enjoyable for both sexes. It definitely wasn't a "chick flick" but it had just about everything you'd want. GO SEE IT!

I am not going to throw around superlatives like some people might. This is by no means the greatest movie ever made. It has it's flaws, it stutters at points, but when all is said and done, it is a great kick off to the summer movie season.
As a movie lover, I look forward each year to the kick off to the summer movies. After some of the horrible movies I have managed to sit through for a year, the summer movies, while not always the most thought provoking fare, generally satisfy on a different level. Iron Man is one of those movies.
You won't leave the theater with a deeper insight into the human condition, or with unresolved questions about the environmental impact of logging companies in east Asia. What you will come out with, is a satisfied feeling, after watching a lot of explosions, some satisfying violence, and an amazing performance by Robert Downey Jr.
The movie delivers exactly what it aims for, a comic book origin story. It does not go for anything else, unlike certain other Marvel movies (**cough** Ghost Rider **cough**) which were just awful, by any stretch of the imagination. Nor does it ham things up like some supposed "Fantastic" movies. Instead this movie works with an exceptional cast, with some amazing costuming and effects, and delivers an all-together fun movie.
Were there things that I would have liked to see done differently? Of course! But those things are just minutia. Except for the ending... I think the ending wasn't the greatest, but still was decent. And the bit after the credits, also quite fun.
In the end, this is definitely a movie I would recommend to my friends, family, co-workers, and random people I meet on the street.

This is one movie that I left very surprised. This was a great cast. Was not expecting that with what I was expecting as a has been cast. There are no has been's here. Every cast member excels and this movie is a delight. It has action, great special affects and even has moments that you burst out laughing. But its a great story and with the cast you will leave very glad you went to see it. And ladies, both the women that went with us, very relucantly, LOVED IT!

I was expecting the movie to be good, but I was not prepared for excellent! It was action-packed and surprisingly funny!! If you weren't in awe, you were laughing! The language and gore was very mild, so it's good for children.
The storyline was smooth - it flowed very well. There were no dull moments...everything led up to something.
This is now one of my favorite movies and I will most likely see it 3 more times before it even comes out on DVD. I recommend that everyone sees this movie!

Robert Downey Jr. really becomes Tony Stark, bringing all of the arrogance of a warlord womanizing billionaire to the big screen. Even Jeff Bridges portrays a convincing villain (he's known primarily for his nice-guy roles). The cast is perfect, without exception. The CG is well executed, and not overdone. The suit is not the star, that definitely goes to Downey, who's light humored approach makes the film very enjoyable. What sets this film apart from most action movies, is that it is paced for adults, letting the actual story develop and dazzling the audience with effects without making them the entire substance of the movie. The number of catchphrases is also limited, which much appreciation from an action fan who isn't emotionally 8 years old. Well worth the wait, and you should check this one out!

Like Spiderman, Fantastic Four, The Hulk, Hellboy, and many other comic book spin-offs Iron Man strives to bring audiences in to the theater and take away all of their sweet sweet cash in exchange for 2 hours of action packed explosion sequences and an occasionally provocative love interests. Where Iron Man sets itself apart from the sea of comic book movies is a very simple six letter word. ACTING. Robert Downey Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow make a positively atomic pair.
The only complaint that i could muster would be the sometimes drawn out manufacturing sequences, which may be somewhat boring for those who are vaguely interested in seeing the movie to begin with. This is a great movie to take all the boys to and send the girlfriend to Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

I hadn't really wanted to see the movie, but my kids talked me into it. To say the least, I was glad that I did. The movie has an excellent story line and acting. It was entertaining from the beginning to the end. The special effects were amazing!

The story line and the effects were great. I never really followed the comic book to know the start of iron man thru that. but the movie was great to follow and didn't really leave me with any question on why this or why that. Hopefully there are sequels that will be just as good

Overall this was a great visual effects, "eye candy," action-packed Marvel movie with a light comedic element, shown through the main character's flippancy and irresponsibility. Good character development and sympathy, though the deeper elements seemed a bit forced and overly cliche. VFX were outstanding, and it kept your interest throughout the entire film. As for the end...well, any Marvel fan will contest its canonocity; but for a one-time viewer it's a great show overall.

I went with my teenaged son, nephew, and their friend (girl teen). There was something for all of us. The story line was tight; not predictable. The only thing was the gratuitous (almost explicit )scene close to the beginning. Other than that--the action was exciting, the plot suspenseful, the romance sweet. This will be one we'll probably see again and definitely add to our DVD library.

My spousal unit and I would recommend this movie to our friends. Particular standouts were Downey's and Bridges' performances. We also liked the faithful retainer robot who kept using the fire extinguisher.

I'll admit, when it was announced that Robert Downey Jr. was cast as Ironman, I was skeptical. This is the same dude that played the villain on The Shaggy Dog for crying out loud.
I take it all back.
He was perfect. He totally lived up to the sexy, witty, genius that is Tony Stark. I would never endorse this movie if it were otherwise.
The action was great. The humor very well timed and very enjoyable. Plus the special effects...wow. I found the terrorist aspect a little jarring, but overall the movie was great.
I can't wait for the Avengers. ^_^

As Marvels first major independent production, Iron Man was a surefire success. I grew up watching episodes on TV and reading the comics. Not only is the movie 2 hours long, theres a teaser after the credits. What you must be in order to enjoy this movie is at the very least an action fan and at most a fellow comic nerd. This movie has all the explosions that you'll want, tasteful comedy, combined with high flying acrobatics and some of the best toys Marvel can dream up, like 'Jarvis' or "The Mark III" of course. Take your friends, enjoy the movie, and then talk about it until the next Marvel flick comes out. This movie was good, no movie fan can hate it and I think it's worth whatever you pay to see it. Though I doubt any future Marvel picture will ever be as good as Iron Man, it seems Marvel has the right idea going for it.

I must admit that when I first saw the trailer, I was only mildly impressed. I'm not really a comic-to-movie fan. But let me just say "Wow!"
I am probably one of those few people who had no idea who Iron Man was. I never read the comic books, nor even heard about it except in passing.
This movie gives a great background story for the super-hero and a hillarious and often heart-string-pulling look into the man in the suit. It's full of one-liners that are sure to be sprouting up in main-stream conversation for a while.
The action sequences are fast-paced yet easy to follow. Except for the beginning of the movie, there is very little bloodshed, and even that is minimal and appropriate for the scene. I found it very funny that the only thing that made the younger children in theater scream was the "Incredible Hulk" trailer!
See this movie if you are an Iron Man fan. See it if you are a comic book fan. Just see it! It's amazing!
