Iron Man is perhaps the first movie put out by Marvel studios that was not made just to make it. An argument can be made of course for the first Spiderman I suppose, however, never have characters been so developed as they are in Iron Man. Robert Downey Jr. who leading up to the film was taking heavy hits from the Comic-Book addicts did a phenominal job. Not only was his portrayal of "Stark" great but he gives the role more credibility where other more recent Marvel characters were lacking. In other words he sold this character. This was also the first time in any Marvel film for me that people were actually cheering and clapping throughout the film. Stick around after the credits for an exciting insight to where the next film will go!

This movie is better than Spiderman. From the cast to the direction and story lines. The movie knows how to laugh at itself, it was not too "serious" like the Spidey movies, it gave the feeling of "remember this is only a movie so enjoy it". No melodrama, love story, or secret identity bs. Robert Downey is perfect as Tony Stark...the genius you love to hate.

The movie very good and Downey did very well in this role, even though I have not liked his acting for many years. The BED sceen even though short and had no nudity did NOT need to be there to carry the story. Cover your childs eyes if under 13.

I wasn't ready for such a great movie! I took my grandson to watch it, but I think I enjoyed it more than him! Robert Downey Jr. fits the part & delivered an impeccable acting! The movie started & finished with good plot & awesome effects.... Wish all Marvel movies were made this good!

This movie was a well written treatment of the Iron Man story that the whole family will enjoy. It balanced the story and the action well, with a light touch of comedy to round it out. My compliments to Marvel and Paramount for this highly enjoyable film!

Overall it is a very entertaining movie and the comical scenes were quite funny. The advance technology concepts were really impressive. It had a well written storyline that was easy to follow. This is one of the better scientific/fantasy movie Hollywood has made.

What a fantastic film, the look , pace, cast and feel of this movie is what ALL superhero films should be like. Downey is dead on as Tony Stark, this is the role he was born to do. I can't wait to see it again on IMAX.

I have never been a big Iron Man fan. I barely remember the cartoon as a kid. But seeing Downey's performance in the trailer's alone was a draw for me. After seeing a few comic-to-film dissapointments over the past few years, I was not dissapointed in the least with this latest one! In fact, I think I have my first comic character crush :)
Wonderful performances by all, especially Downey Jr. who just IS Tony Stark. I have never seen an actor so very comfortable in a superhero role before. The special effects were top notch and at times perfectly amusing (i.e. the fire extinguisher robot). The cinematography just made it that much more awesome. This is a film I'm going to see again, and again, and going to take as many people with me along the way!

Wow! Everyone's part in this movie was taylor made, or I should say the actors made this movie.

Remember when Hollywood used to make exciting movies that were worth seeing more than once? When Movies were intellegently written and kept you on the edge of your seat?
Iron man is one of those! Robert Downy Jr is Iron Man. Jeff Bridges plays an excellent (spoiler coming)........ Villain and Gwyneth Paltrow may have finally found her vehicle. The music, editing and special effects make you believe Robert is IRON MAN! As good as Spiderman 2!

I went into this movie knowing a bit about Iron Man, but not that much. I've read some comics with him in it, a few Avengers, some of his own. I have to say that this movie was very well done and lived up to the comic well. The lead actors played their roles to the tee, and the side actors didn't make me cringe. Robert Downey, Jr. was at his rapid fire best, and Jeff Bridges played a very low key, very creepy villain well. I could have done without the romp with the Vanity Fair reporter and stewardess pole dance, but other than that I enjoyed the movie. I don't think it was over the top, and it has quite the nice set up after the credits are done. I look forward to seeing what's next for this franchise and/or off shoots of it.

If your into comic books and you love the heroes, then you will love Iron Man. It was amazing, you will enjoy every moment of the movie, and everything is crucial to the overall story. The preview to the next movie, was well tied in with Iron Man, and you will love the movie, and it will become one of your favorite movies.

I took my daughter and son to see Iron Man on my son's 4th birthday. He had been talking about it non-stop since we saw the trailer in February. All 3 of us loved it! We can't wait till it comes out on DVD. Will definately be one to buy right away. It was well worth seeing on the big screen.

I thought Iron Man was a great movie! I was worried that it would not live up to the hype, but Robert Downey Jr. did an excellent job and even though I am not a big fan of Gweneth Paltrow, she did a great job as well. It kept me interested through the whole movie and had some great action. I hope that the next movie has more action now that the premise has been set up. Oh and can you believe that was Jeff Bridges? He looks so different bald, with a beard and a bit heavier!

I remember Ironman from "back in the day." I thought it was a great modernized adaptation. There was just enough of everything, including surprises, to keep me interested. I can't wait for the next installment. I'm glad I like to sit through the credits!!!!!

This was the best Super Hero movie I have seen. It even exceeded the SpiderMan movies. Robert Downey Jr potrayed the character of Tony Stark as no one else could have. Brilliant acting and an Excellent story line made this movie stand out above all over Super Hero movies.

Iron Man doesn't pretend to be anything but what it is - a movie about Iron Man. The story is kept simple, not a lot of scenes out of place or overly tedious. The Iron Man suit is nothing short of spectacular, as is Robert Downey Jr - he adds just the right amount of snark to the role. If I had to pick something that needed work, it would be that Terrence Howard's character was kind of a spare part most of the time, and I was never sure if we were supposed to buy him as "the best friend" or "military commander guy who has to do things contrary to his friendship with Tony Stark". Jeff Bridges and Gwyneth Paltrow were both great in their roles - Paltrow's Pepper Potts blows Kirsten Dunst's Maryjane Watson out of the water.
This movie is all about Robert Downey Jr, though- so many people questioned him being cast as Tony Stark, and now I can't imagine anyone else doing it.
There are no real surprises with Iron Man - but it's done so well, I found I didn't mind.

IronMan has to be one of the best if not the best comic book made blockbuster hit ever. The movie had me captivated form begining to end. The casting was perfect i could not think of a better tony stark (Iron Man) than Robert Downey jr. and the supporting cast was a wonderful addition to this movie. if your thinking on weather or not you want to see a movie go see this one and youll be glad you did. It has it all humor, romance, explosions, special affects. Everything you go to the movies to see. And if your into comic books or superheroes Iron Man is what you need. Go and check it out.

At first I was skeptical about the casting choices...but after watching the movie, I must say that I couldn't imagine anybody else in the lead roles. A well paced out movie with evenly spaced and amazing action sequences, this isn't your typical special effects and non-stop action sequence movie, which really works for the storyline. Just a great all around movie!

This was an excellent intro to Iron Man. There is a hero, action, several villians, a plot, and a love interest. The special effects were pretty cool too! I can only assume that there will be a sequel. If you like comic book heroes, this Iron Clad Movie fits the bill.

I thought Ironman was a great action film. Not as good as the Fantastic Four but way better than Transformers. It had suspense and action but also quite a few comedic moments to lighten the tension. I would recommend it to anyone interested in action, sci-fi, or superhero movies. Hint: Look for a cameo from Stan Lee.

I enjoyed this movie a lot, considering I went into it fairly cautiously as to how good I expected it to be. The storyline was a good one, lots of witty humor throughout it, and lots of COOL toys. The Audi R8 was just the beginning as far as good toys goes. For anyone who criticizes movies for being too cheesy or anything like that, this movie doesn't fall under that category for me, but if it did, there is plenty of amazing action sequences to make up for it. I recommend it completely.

I was expecting this movie to be OK at best, but I was definitely mistaken. Robert Downey Jr. did an amazing job playing Iron Man and Jeff Bridges played a great villain- very unexpected. This movie is not only action packed, but it's also hilarious! Robert Downey Jr.'s natural sarcasm made this role all the better for him! To say the least, I loved it!
