I thought the Social Network was ok but not the most enthralling movie I've ever seen. I wouldn't care to see it again and if friends were looking to rent a movie, I'd advise them to keep looking instead of taking this one home. I don't get the people raving that this is a must-see movie. They must be very easily entertained.
Overall, I was very disappointed in the movie. Perhaps they would have been better off to show the last book in one movie and edit it down to show only the salient parts. They took out so much of the content of the last book that this movie felt like only a preview or filler material. People who haven't read the books or seen the other movies won't be able to follow the storyline because too much was left unsaid.
At the other Harry Potter movies I've been to, the audience stood and clapped at the end of the movie. At this one, when the end came, the audience let out a big "Awww!" of disappointment and trickled wordlessly out of the theater. I think this will go down as the least profitable of the Harry Potter movies. I saw some of the other HP movies multiple times while they were at the theater but once was enough for this one.
At least the popcorn was good so it made it worthwhile to go to the movies.
One of my biggest gripes about horror films is that people in them don't act the way a person with normal common sense would. This movie was definitely all about gratuitous violence, blood and gore, and the cheap thrill of female nudity. It's not the worst horror movie I've ever seen. It was decent enough that I wanted to know the ending so I didn't walk out on it. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, though, unless they just find gore and mayham titillating.
I thought Ironman was a great action film. Not as good as the Fantastic Four but way better than Transformers. It had suspense and action but also quite a few comedic moments to lighten the tension. I would recommend it to anyone interested in action, sci-fi, or superhero movies. Hint: Look for a cameo from Stan Lee.
