As a diehard Marvel fan, this was worth the wait! All of the storyline, lots of gobot action and super script! RDJr. was the perfect choice for role. I read in People Mag. that he was unsure he had the stature and presence to pull off a superhero, but found the confidence when he saw Keeanu and others doing it - I say ROCK ON IRONMAN! The character of Stark requires an inate confidence and he had it all - including the Body! Excellent first movie in series - looking forward to next one!

This movie lives up to the name Marvel and to the hype. Even if u don't know much about Iron Man from comic books, it tells enough of the story to connect with the characters. It has lots of action mixed with comedy and a touch of drama that makes for a complete summer movie.

I was a comic book collector in my youth and I love that they are making my fav comics into movies! This is one of best ones I have seen to date and loved Robert Downey Jr. in this roll. I also liked that they closed it up well but hinted at the possibility of a sequal with War Machine!

IRON MAN was the first movie I've been to in a loooong, looong time where the audience CHEERED at the end. The story is great and the themes of heroism and making choices are very positive. It has just one questionable scene. Too bad, other than that I would take my boys and I'm sure they would love it, too.

My whole family loved it! The special effects were terrific, as was Robert Downey, Jr.'s acting (as always). However, the previews are misleading in that they don't show how much violence there is and the entire theater was PACKED with little kids under 6 that probably shouldn't have seen that much killing. I know it is PG-13, but parents need to consider WHY it's rated that and not bring along younger kids.

This movie was not incredible. That said, I feel that it is the perfect SET for the upcoming SPIKE! of either the next Iron Man movie or an Avengers movie. I really enjoyed the film for what it was, the back story for the following movies. If only every one was a TRUE BELIEVER, then we could dispense with the history telling.

This by far was one of the best comic book to movie adaptations that I have ever seen. From the beginning of the movie you are submersed into the world of Tony Stark. Robert Downey is a true movie star once again.

If you're a big fan of any super-hero, high-tech gadgetery or just good ol' special effects, I highly recommend this movie for a great ride. My wife claimed it was even more fun than watching Transformers. All the actors (minus Gwyneth Paltrow) had great chemistry, and Robert Downey Jr. is a believable playboy billionaire.
It's official - the 2008 summer blockbuster season has started!

Loved this movie. They did a really good job of mixing action with the funny. I don't know the comics so I can't speak to what might have changed. For a person who only had a vague knowledge of Tony Stark/Ironman, though this movie hit all the marks. I saw it with four other people. We all enjoyed it. I've recommended it to everyone I know. I am probably going to see it again tomorrow!
Go see it now!!! And make sure you wait through the credits for that little extra at the very end.

Iron Man is a fantastic movie whose excellent cast gets the job done--and done right! Robert Downey Jr. is the billionaire genius who just wants to party and engineer stuff. He kind of falls into the superhero costume; engineers it to perfection; and finally embraces the job and what it involves. Terrence Howard was great as his friend/military liaison and Gwyneth Paltrow did her usual excellent job. This movie started slowly and gave the audience considerable character background and development. I expect the next one in the series to get to the action much faster. One drawback is that I wish a scene between Downey's Tony Stark and a woman had been even less detailed. It was *not* an explicit scene, at all. However, it was enough to make this parent wonder if she'd made a mistake by not investigating the "brief suggestive content" in advance. I suggest that moviemakers not even come close to that inappropriate line. This movie, like so many others, doesn't benefit from the suggestive content.

I had expected another 'Comic Book to Movie' makeover. However not only was I pleasantly surprised, but my two teens thought it was great too!
The choice to take this out of the old comic book era and move it into a modern day sci-fi was awesome.
I would consider this the modern day equivalent of the 'Star Wars' or 'Matrix' releases, in that there are great state of the art special effects, but the movie actually has a plot and a storyline. The acting was much better than I expected and I am actually going to go see it a 2nd time in the cinema (something I haven't done for 10-years or so).

Finally a comic book movie that works.
Downey, Gwyneth , and Howard all give outstanding performances. Bridges is scary as the villain. The action is real and their is none of the bad language and adult content that add nothing to the story line.
There are good guys, bad guys and lots of action. We will go to see it again.

The ultimate choice of having Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark couldn't have been better.
Only "1" downside to IRON MAN - and that's waiting until 2010 for the next release. Maybe we'll catch a break and the DVD will be released sooner than later.

I was actually not expecting to see such a great movie. I just went because I love super hero movies. One of the very few times a trailer do not show how excelent of a movie this was. The acting was also very good, and the special effects amazing. Boy, aren't you glad it wans't Nicholas Cage???? Woosh!!!!

All my expectations were exceeded. This film is worth seeing at least twice.
Robert Downy Jr. is the perfect Tony Stark.
Jeff Bridges as Obediah Stane is outstanding as well.
Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts is not only incredibly beautiful, but inteligent as well. (the kind of assistant every billionare should have) .
The action is amazing, and the cgi effects are some of the best ever.
I am anxiously looking forward to seeing it, and it's sequels, several times over.

Great Movie....not too predictable like other Marvel Character movies. Action packed with a great leading man. Be forewarned though this is not a movie for little kids...definitely PG-13 - due to violence, language, and brief suggestive scene. Still, great movie if you are looking for an action packed fun movie experience!!! Just leave the little ones at home!! Definitely worth the $8 or $9!

The problem with a comic book movie is that you have to tell the story of how the character began and still have enough action to keep viewer interested. Iron Man delivers on all fronts. Robert Downey is perfect as Tony Stark (life imitating art, perhaps?) and Jeff Bridges as his evil mentor Obadiah Stane is spot on as well. Paltrow is adequate as Pepper Potts and the chemistry between the two leads is believable. T. Howard as James Rhodes is a great choice and it will be interesting to see how closely they follow events in the comic. With the exception of an overly , unnecessary graphic scene between Tony and a female reporter in the beginning of the movie, a great movie for the entire family. Well done!

Iron Man has a lot of action and interaction between it's stars. It kept up the action throughout the movie. I have seen some movies that have action scenes, but in spurts. Iron Man keeps your attention and makes you want more at the end. This is the best movie that I have seen Robert Downey Jr. act in. He was remarkable. The cast is a well rounded cast that flows easily together. This is a movie I would not mind seeing over and over again. It is a must see!

My wife and I went with our college age daughter and her two friends. We were expecting it to be kind of stupid and I happy to say that we were very wrong. The movie was very enjoyable. Action packed, funny, and kept the whole theater interested. We have recommended it to our friends and will buy it when it comes to DVD.
