Iron Man is not typically the full blown Superhero movie most viewers look forward to seeing, but more-so an individual vengeful movie that deals with one mans reaction to a certain event. Also, this movie is the first Marvel movie to portray the war that is going on in the Middle East. The fact that "the" Iron Man was created by pure genious, and not by the happening of a spider-bite or the contact of radioactive rays, makes it seem more realistic to the crowd. If you go see it or have seen it and did not notice, STAY TIL THE END OF THE CREDITS BECAUSE THERE IS ANOTHER MINUTE LEFT OF THE MOVE.....

Good adventure film with a powerful performance by Robert Downey Jr (a little more sarcastic than the comic's version of Tony Stark, but certainly an inspired performance). Jon Favreau does the material justice with good action sequences (not his usual area) and action fans may not get Matrix-ed Size actions sequences, yet they don't disappoint either. Paltrow and Bridges are quite good (one scene with them together is quite suspenseful), and it is great to have Bridges as a 'gray' character (he would have made a great Stark too). The film is a cool popcorn flick. Although it may not have the iconic fight scenes that people are accustomed to seeing in comic book movies, it harkens back to a simpler style of filmmaking that provides a little more heart to the characters.

I rate low so this movie will be 4 star to others. Story line pretty good. The Robert Downey Jr. character is what made the movie entertaining the way Johnny Depp made Jack Sparrow (PoC). Nice to see the special effects on Big screen.

I loved this movie. I knew mostly nothing about it going in and was excited the entire time watching it. Very well done, hilarious in many parts, and was pleasantly surprised by the casting and wit that was in the movie. Definitely recommend it to everyone, parents, kids, teens, anyone could easily watch and like this film! Fun for the whole family.

I see several reviews on the Featured page referring to the first 1/2 ("or so") as slow and/or boring. While I'm sure the bar of narration and character development is expected to be low in a Marvel action film, I just can't agree with those reviewers. The first part of the film was a brilliant introduction to Downey, Jr.'s Stark and a nice lead-up to his eventual becoming Iron Man.
We're given reasons and a deeper look into the psyche of a superhero than we've been given thus far in a Marvel film, and I applaud the effort taken by Mr. Favreau in his depiction.
I loved the film from start to finish. Downey, Paltrow and Terence Howard were spot-on with their delivery and all truly seemed to fall into their characters nicely. Jeff Bridges, while a good choice for Obadiah Stane, was unintentionally hilarious with his over-the-top villainy. That's not meant to be an insult to his portrayal; in fact, it was fantastic, just stating that I garnered a few chuckles from his actions and megalomaniacal behaviour.
A must-see for fans of Marvel, or simply "Iron Man" in general.

FINALLY! Not Spiderman, Xmen or Fantastic 4 were worth the money! This is the only one that could measure up to Batman! There was not one dull moment. Thoroughly enjoyed! I recommend to all and can't wait for part 2!!!

I recently found that the recent Marvel characters that have been made into movies, all follow the same sort of format. Iron Man I found to be more believable, gritty, and well made! Can't wait to see it AGAIN!

Really enjoyed Ironman - lots of fun without being gratuitous. There was some of the teenage boy fantasy (the stewardesses poledancing for example) but it didn't get carried away.
Good acting for a comic book yarn, great effects.

I really enjoyed this movie. It started off a little slow to me, and I thought it took too long to get to the actual "Iron Man" action, but the backstory was interesting enough so that that wasn't bothersome. I look forward to the sequel!

Immediately this action packed movie takes off for its riveting story. I believe this is the first time when giving an overall Rating there should be about 20 more stars. This is by far the best film since transformers. Since the coming out of the film I have seen it twice. Great action, storyline and they chose excellent cast members. I hope they can come up with a sequel. I am definitely getting the DVD to this film the moment it comes out which will probably be more than 6-8 months from now. Along with my brother, we give it four thumbs up, four big toes up and 20 extra stars. Great movie. I just may see it again. It's that great.

First off, let me tell you, I am not a marvel fan. I am a DC fan. But there is no denying that this movie was great. The character was brought to life perfectly. The story was phenomenal. After the first half hour, the action was non-stop. I recommend this movie to any comic book fan, DC or Marvel.

Very entertaining, sets the characters and tells a great yarn. One of the best comic adaptations I've seen in a long while. Go see this movie. Downey is back and better than ever. Paltrow is as lovely as ever and Bridges is super.
