My friend took me to this movie as a birthday present. He apologized profusely afterward. Yes, it was deep and dark and thoughtful, but in a much worse and less satisfying way than The Dark Knight.
Overall, it was overly long and slow. There was too much male frontal nudity and unnecessarily graphic violence, so the R rating is definitely justified.
I thought this movie was very good. It was inspirational to see the sports aspect of the story and thought-provoking in terms of the racial issues addressed in the movie. Well done and definitely recommended!
It's rare to get a great action movie that is also deep and intelligent. This is such a movie. Be careful with younger kids, though. It is dark as many have noted. Heath Ledger truly did a magnificent job as the Joker.
We saw this in Digital 3D, and that's a good thing. It was a generally good and fun movie - especially for families. A couple parts were a little intense for younger kids. The 3D effects were very good and elevated this from 3 stars to 4 stars.
This was a very good effort on the second of the Chronicles of Narnia series. It is darker and more intense than the first, with lots of battle scenes. Keep that in mind for younger ages. It was a fun movie to watch with lots of good characters.
