The story stood up even to a superhero. Robert Downey Jr.'s acting was excellent.
Great action, it really captured the Iron Man spirit from the comics.

I wasn't sure Robert Downey Jr was my idea of Tony Stark, having grown up with this character. Was I ever pleasantly surprised! Told my son to go see it ASAP. Best Marvel adaptation I've seen yet. And Gwyneth Paltrow to die for lol!

This is a great adaptation of a comic book story. My son (12) and I went to see it and I was hesitant that it wouldn't live up to the hype for my enjoyment. I knew he would like it in either case. I needn't have worried - this is a great film with a great story and acting for enjoyment at all ages. The setup storyline about Afghanistan didn't get too preachy and worked well for me. I would definitely recommend it for everyone.

Took 3 boys (9,7, and 5) to see this movie Friday night. We all LOVED it (though parts in the desert were over their heads). RD, Jr. was fantastic.

Aside from some minor changes to update the comic to today's world events, the movie stayed very true to the comic book. Robert Downey, Jr. did a great job playing the millionaire playboy genius who suddenly got his eyes opened. Gwyneth Paltrow was fabulous as Potts, with just the right combination of professional competence and personal vulnerability (and she looks STUNNING as a redhead.) Jeff Bridges was also solid as the villian Obadiah. All in all, an excellent movie that leaves you waiting impatiently for the sequel.

This movie proved to be action packed, and entertaining for the entire run time. I never followed comics, nonetheless I really enjoyed this flick. My 5 year old sat through teh entire showing, and also liked it.Strongly recommened!

In recent years Marvel and others have tried to bring the comic book to the big screen. Most were overhyped, over-budgeted and didn't seem to suck you into the story.
Iron Man is different.
You're absorbed into Tony Stark's world, and are somehow made to sympathize with him, even though he's a social drinker and womanizer. The CGI is fresh as well, and the action scenes run smoothly and are great eye candy for those not interested in a plot.
One extra thing I would like to note, and I'll take the example from the part in the movie where Iron Man shoots a tiny missile at a tank, when he turns around and it blows up, that is a perfect comic book moment, and by that I mean, you can just imagine that scene coming fresh off the page of a comic book. And that's what I want to see more of in comic book movies!

We were looking forward to this movie since we heard about it. Robert Downey Jr. did not disappoint. He is a fantastic performer and really was the perfect pic for the movie. Not to mention he looks AMAZING. Gwyneth was great and I love Terrence Howards character. If the story stays true to the comic books I think we will be seeing allot more of him. Jeff Bridges was marvelous, so much so I did not recognize him right away. this could be a giant franchise, and I look forward to seeing new episodes. Jon Favreau did an amazing job, the filming, action and locations were all stars in their own right. Without giving away any of the movie I can safely say this does a great job in laying out how he became Iron Man, how he can do what he does, what he stands for etc. The roadwork for future action packed adventures is mapped out. Watch out web slinger you got some competition

I really enjoyed this movie! Great action, characters, and effects. I have been watching a lot of indie films during the slow winter season, so for me this was the perfect blockbuster to start the summer off with. If you like big hollywood movies...see this one for sure on the big screen.

A little long, but necessary to set the stage for Stark's change of heart. Downey does a great job portraying a brilliant egomaniac who loves his inventions w/o considering the consequences of said inventions. His moralistic turnaround is believable even if some of his "inventions" are not. The action is great; the special effects are spectacular. It's a fun ride.

great comic book portrayal, very hi-tech,very current event, swing going on. downey is a good fit, bridges a guy you want to hate, paltrow the superhero love story struggle worked well.

This movie is excellent. My 10 year old son wanted to see it because of the action and I wanted to see it because Robert Downey Jr. always does an excellent job. The movie is awesome because puts you into the realtiy of the world and how this super hero came to be without be so off the wall.

Great movie, great action, great comedy, but the best thing I believe is at the very end. You must stay until after the ending credits for a bonus scene! I will not divulge the details but if you walk out before the credits finish you will be sorry!!!
