Multiple viewpoints. Enough combat action to keep the boys happy; conspiracy theorists will have a field day; love-hate relationship with the CIA; love-hate relationship with the government power brokers; journalism run amuck; idealistic soldier; and the everyday man-in-the street trying to save his country. What more could you ask? No...no love interest in this movie!
This movie was more than I thought it would be. The fight scenes were great and Stratham pulled them off beautifully. I especially liked Natalya Rudokova. She took the role of the victim and gave it power by refusing to whine or beg. Her acceptance of her situation did not diminish her character; her realism and sense of fatality added to the story line. I thought Stratham and Rudokova fairly sizzled w/sexual tension. A great ride.
A little long, but necessary to set the stage for Stark's change of heart. Downey does a great job portraying a brilliant egomaniac who loves his inventions w/o considering the consequences of said inventions. His moralistic turnaround is believable even if some of his "inventions" are not. The action is great; the special effects are spectacular. It's a fun ride.
