I went mostly to humor my husband, who's a comic fan. I found myself quickly caught up in the movie and enjoyed it thoroughly! Robert Downey, Jr. was fantastic! I was so surprised when I realized it was Jeff Bridges in the movie -- didn't recognize him for a while until I heard his voice. He certainly makes a great antagonist! The effects were stunning, too. The Iron Man suit was so cool, it made me wish I could have one to avoid rush-hour traffic in town! <smile> Great movie, a lot of fun! Make sure you stay for all the credits to catch the clip at the very end!

For someone who is typically not an action hero lover, I loved this movie! The story was engaging, the action sequences were fun and not so long that I wanted to say "alright, already, move on!" I'm a big Robert Downey, Jr. fan and my husband knew the Iron Man story so this one worked for us. We look forward to a sequel, and yes, we would definitely recommend it.

Even though I knew very little about the Iron Man story before seeing the film, I really enjoyed it. Amazing spcial effects and great storyline. Explained a lot of things I didn't know about Iron Man.

I saw this movie weeks after the debut, and was happy to see that all of the previous reviews were correct. I'm not iron man purist, but I believed it, Downey make a great playboy with no conscience into a believable hero. Paltrow had a great part and played it well, and looked astonishing. Bridges was almost too good at being bad Howard was very believable. I'm waiting for the dvd now.

As one who was there for the original Iron Man comics, this movie is a grand exercise in updating and establishing a character. While a tad slow for the 1st half hour, the remainder is well done and action filled. The devlopment by Stark of his control of the Iron Man suit is as realistic as it could be. Downey is PERFECT as Stark. BE SURE AND STAY TIL AFTER THE CREDITS. Nuff said!

This movie is so entertaining and sucked me to the point that I was leaning forward in my seat with my mouth open. Not pretty, but everyone in the theater looked like that. It's a really good movie. I don't expect much from these types of movies, but my husband really wanted to see it. I am so glad we did. So much fun! Go see it. You'll have a great time.

I only went to this movie because my boys wanted to see it. It turns out that I really enjoyed the movie from start to finish...we all did! It had a great story line and even kept my 9 year old's attention. I think we may even go back to see it a 2nd time.

This movie was a total escape from reality. The acting was good and the story was very intriguing. It's not going to win any Oscars, but if you want to "go away" for two hours, this is the ticket. We enjoyed it.

Iron Man was everything I was hoping for and more. The FX were outstanding and story had just enough going for it to keep me interested. I had a little trouble suspending disbelief a few times but then I just relaxed, remembered it's a comic book movie, and enjoyed the ride.

Easily the best Marvel super hero movie since Spider-Man 2, which was probably the best super hero movie ever. Managed to be true to the character while updating him for a modern audience. This gives me much faith in Marvel Studios.

I was not quite as familiar with the whole Iron Man story as I was with Spiderman, Batman, Superman, etc. I was a little nervous at first because of that, but the second that Robert Downey Jr. appears on screen, you just can't tear your eyes away. He is an excellent actor, but you really feel that the Tony Stark character is so much a part of his own personality that they are nearly inseparable. Origin stories are always great, but the addition of a whole cast of first class supporting characters make this a movie that you absolutely shouldn't miss!

Brilliant story, and superb performance from Mr. Downey. Uber-cool specials effects and heart pounding action sequences make this a must see flick. Ms. Paltrow as the loyal and lovely Pepper Potts and Mr. Bridges as the evil Obijiah round out the cast. Intelligent, thought-provoking and vastly entertaining!

I really had a fun time watching this movie. It had lots of action and effects were not over used and looked incredible.
