I won't say this is the best children's/family movie I have seen this year however it was cute. My 3 year old and 5 year old got a bit ansy and bored through many parts, especially by the end they were out of their seats. My 9 year old son was more interested and laughing out loud. Personally I wasn't that impressed but I was pretty busy keeping the other two children interested and quiet.
I took my 5 year old son to see this because he saw the commercials and thought it looked fun. I am not sure if it was just the wrong day or what however we left after 20 minutes. First of all he got scared a few times that just made him want to leave however there were a few funny parts that made him stay. I think just because of his age, much of the funny banter was over his head. I wasn't interested in the movie either. We both see movies quite often so again it must have just been the day because the reviews I have ready from others the movie should have been really funny and good. The beginning is very very slow and boring.
The 8 year old boys seemed to be able to focus more on watching the movie than the 4 year olds. There was laughing out loud which is always sweet to hear from the young ones. As an adult I could take it or leave it, but if the children like it I will see it anytime.
The movie kept my attention as well as my 4 and 8 year old boys. There was laughter throughout the entire theatre which is always fun. A nice story and the characters were just what was needed to keep it flowing smoothly. I would see it again.
This movie was a huge surprise and I walked out of the theatre wanting to see it again. It is a fantastic movie and Robert Downey Jr. really rocks! I could not get myself to walk out for any reason.
What a great movie. My sons and I have been twice in the last two weeks. Each time we took a different friend. My three year old was captivated and had no problem sitting through the entire show. The length was just perfect.
