Loved the whole "retro" look and feel - World War II. I always like the set-up of these kind of movies - i.e. scrawny kid with hero aspirations gets his chance. I thought the casting was good and I enjoyed all the actors. I admit I occasionally thought "Okay, let's move this along", but really was entertained by this movie.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Cars 2 Misses the Mark

I loved the first Cars movie...and so does my grandson. Funny, touching, not too over the top with messages. All the areas Cars 2 misses out on. My grandson became restless (as opposed to transfixed by the original). We didn't laugh out loud as frequently. The guns, blowing things up, was a little over the top. And WAAAAAY too much Mater. Actually, we enjoyed the Toy Story opener more than the Cars 2 movie! Cars 2 is definitely not up to Pixar's story standards.
Great movie. Great action. Great plot and set-up. Robert Downey superb, as was all the cast. I would highly recommend this to anyone to see. Not your usual dopey action-hero movie.
