I must say, when I found out that Robert Downey Jr. was the Iron man I was a bit upset...I haven't enjoyed any of his more recent work...but I had purchased the tickets becuase my 11 yr. old son got straight A's and I knew he wanted to see it. Well...I was very pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed the movie...loved the special effects, RDJ brought a wonderful funny spirit to the Iron Man and his interactions with Gwineth were wonderful...would have liked to see more of her...but it was a very well made movie...well done to Favreau who I still am in love with from Swingers. He is a great director. The scenes in Afghanistan or Iraq or wherever they were for the war scenes was great!!! I found myself laughing outloud at his interactions with his robot helpers and screaming at some of the suspenseful scenes...I felt like a kid again! Well done to everyone on this one. It probably will be a blockbuster and for sure there is going to be a thirst for a sequel! And RDJ...I am very happy with your new cleaner life and attitude. Good for the kids.

I loved it! Robert Downey Jr. is back and bad in a good way. I am so glad that he went out for this picture. It gives you the history of Iron Man. It had great action! It wasn't slow. All the actors were great in it and they played great in all of there parts. I can't wait until another one comes out.

This movie is everything a comic/superhero movie should be. It has Great charcacters, great sequences and very accurate to the source material. Well done all around; Jon Favreau, Stan Winston and Matvel Studios.
This will land in my top 3 Comic addaptations ever and the bar for summer 2008 has now been set very high.
Big Tip...Stay through all of the credits!!
My only complaint is that I saw a lot of bit parts in the trailers and sneak preview through various outlets.

This movie completely blew myself and everyone in my group away. I am a die-hard comic fan, so I knew the backstory, but a couple of my friends knew nothing about the character going in, and they cam out absolutely loving this film and wanting more. By far the best comic book character movie I've seen yet, beats them all by a mile. Downey Jr. absolutely OWNS this movie and his fast-talking, jet-setting Stark portrayal is spot-on and a great job. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO ANYONE!

Iron Man is a superb action movie. Stan Lee has a real winner again.There has got to be an Oscar waitng for this one. It blended very real war situations with an imaginary yet believeable solution that it is possible for one person to make a great difference in the fight for humanity worldwide with the support of a just a very few people willing to believe and act inspite of seemingly impossible obsticles. It shows that with the right tools and the right people, you can fix anything.

Finally a superhero that doesnt suffer from teen angst or a dark complex. Robert Downey Jr. portays the smart playboy gone good to a tee. Great tongue-in-cheek chemistry between him and Gweneth. Enjoyed it as much or more than "Batman Begins" and "Spiderman".

I am an avid fan of the Ironman comics, and was beyond excited for a movie, but also apprehensive as comic book adoptions seem to be hit or miss (Spiderman vs Daredevil for example).
I am glad to say Ironman was.. AMAZING. It was well done, and had a little of everything for everyone whether you know the comic or not. There were many throwbacks to the original comics, and needless to say I did cheer aloud involuntarily at times. Robert Downey Jr. was a perfectly flawless Tony Stark
Advice? Stay through the credits.

Very well done, the effects are spot on, and the personality of Tony Stark is perfect. It keeps you on your toes through the entire movie.
And the after-credits scene is good, and entices a second movie. But casting for that scene (from a comic geek's perspective) is completely wrong.

Surprisingly, this less-popular Marvel icon had one of the best origin portrayals in recent superhero movie history! I had honestly thought it would be a Fantastic Four caliber piece of shlock, but was I ever wrong! Smart, funny, exciting, and well-paced, even with its 2 hour running time. Go see it!

This definitely lived up to the hype and quickly established itself as one of the best comic-to-movie films ever. Very true to the comic and orgin while updating it and adding likeable tweaks. The Jarvis nod to fans was great but not over the top to turn off the uninformed. The bonus scene at the end was definitely worth the long wait at the end of the credits...the theater I was in broke out in a large cheer and had the place buzzing as we left at 3:00am!!!

I heard the buzz about this being a really "smart" superhero movie...this movie does make you stop and think, but MAN what a ride!! RDJ couldn't be any more charming and witty...Jeff Bridges a bad guy?? ...and MMMMMmmmmmmmmm...Gwyneth as Pepper...YUM!

I would not take my younger children to see it because of the violence and the 1 or 2 minutes of sexuality included in the movie.

If you love superhero movies you know the delimma we all have, very few good superhero movies are made but my friend other than Batman here is your shining light! Iron Man shows what Super Heroes could be as far as depth and entertainment. Of course the special effects were nothing short of amazing. But the dialog was so well done. Not like X-Men or Fantastic 4 movies. Both of which were horrible franchises. You can see an immediate difference when compared to these other franchises because Marvel made this movie themselves in their own Movie Studios.

This movie is everything the over-hyped Spider-Man 3, Fantastic Four and other recent comic book movies should have been.
The movie sticks to the story and action, without wasting 20-30 min on worthless drama, romance and tear-jerker scenes like the recent comic book to movie failures.
The comic relief and gags were in the perfect amount and spaced out to keep the pace of the movie.
The movie makes Robert Downey, Jr. look like an all-star actor.
