If you enjoy fantasy type movies, this will be right up your alley. Great special effects and decent acting help keep this movie running along at a good pace. Although the movie is rated PG, there is a lot of violence. My 5 year old daughter was a bit scared when the fight sequences occured. The ending fight sequences can also be very intense for younger children.

This movie was a little slow to get started how ever it finished up well. There are a few spots where this movie would be a little scarey for younger kids. Maybe 8 and older would be ok. The movie keeps you drawn in and holds you til the end . I say it is a must see , the movie's that are out right now are not that great and this is a break from that. Well worth the price.

This movie is worth going to see! I would have to agree with other movie goers-this movie is probably not suitable for small children but you, the parent,will have to be the judge of that. There are alot of scenes that kept me on the edge of my seat or actually made me jump! The CGI was incredible and cute. A definite must see for 'possibly' the whole family.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. The plot is engaging, the animation is great and the child actors are wonderful. I hesitated to see it because I was hugely disappointed by Bridge to Terabithia. But, this was much more interesting and entertaining, even if you are in your 50's (like us) and enjoy this type of movie. We have not read the books, so any differences in the movie were not a problem for us. I have never taken the time to write a review before, but decided it was worth passing along this info to anyone who was disappointed with Bridge but is still hoping for a good movie of this type. Enjoy!

This movie is not for the really young, my 3 and 5 year olds were petrified. This movie is very loud and violent. However, my 7 year old loved it. I would highly recommend it for older kids. A touching story with a twist.

This is the best movie I've ever seen with humans and CGI mixed together. It's almost as if they surpassed being actors and are really behaving in real life. The movie really combines suspenseful action while joining outrageous comedy to it. All 5 stars go to this movie.

Personaly from an adults point of view, I enjoyed the movie. I did not read the books and I was very entertained. Unlike others, I was not expecting all kinds of computerized graphics that would compare to the BIG movies that have come out within the last several years., so I thought it was done quite well. I got several laughs and did not walk out of the theater feeling that I wasted my money. My 11 yr old daughter who did read the series enjoyed the movie as well BUT she was mildly disappointed that it did not follow the books more closely. She spent the whole ride home telling me all the important facts that were unfortunatly left out of the movie. Even so, she too had severlal moments of rolling laughter and it was a great way to spend our Valentines Evening together. We BOTH recomend the movie, just dont go to it expecting to see a Lord of the Rings type flick.

Took my girls (ages between 5 and 14) to see this movie and we all loved it from beginning to end! We wouldn't change a thing! Most of the fantasy movies out now are British based so it was refreshing to see one based in America. It made it more realistic for my kids. We haven't been this entertained by a fantasy movie since Lord Of The Rings and Harry Potter. Definitely a must see even if you've never picked up the book! We highly recommend it to everyone of all ages.

This movie was o.k . It had a couple of good chase sceens and high budget special effects. Along the same lines, but not as good as, chronicles of narnia or golden compass. This movie reminded me more of bridge to tarabithia with a jumunji type feel. The kids will love it, but the real movie gower will not be so easily astonished. Not that this was a bad movie but because of this trend in movies with c.g.i (computer generated images) the competition is fierce and the bar has deffinitley been raised. On a scale of 1 to 10 i would rate this movie a solid 6.

Overall, the movie is entertaining on the surface level especially for the younger crowd. However, if your child or you have read the books and remember the details to any large or even smallest extent ,the movie then becomes very frustrating. This is so because many of the important parts from the books are cut out or even and unwisely completely changed. This was done, I suppose, to be able to fit all five books into one movie as well as to lower the maturity level to appeal to a broader spectrum audience. For instance, my 9 year old was extremely upset while my seven year old loved the movie. As in most movies taken from books deviations are to be expected but those practiced here are truly extreme. I believe that this movie would be much more enjoyable if you have not read the series and I also recommend that if you haven't read them do not until after you've seen the movie. This movie is a poor attempt to give the audience the general concept of the books in a very unsatisfying whirlwind. If I were the authors I would be quite upset. There is no doubt this movie had the potential to be great but sadly it is not.
